In what way do his ideas moderately resemble communism? I’m seriously curious as to how you can nit-pick your way with this one. And if you know one thing about political stances such as communism democracy socialism and such you would know like charro said that communism will only survive if all agree on it. Not only that but in Karl Marks words in order for communism to work the world will first have to accept and follow socialism then do the same for communism. and i doubt that you know who Karl Marks is so he is essentially the man whom thought up communism. So, in order for Obama to represent communism and or for his ideas to he would have to embrace and represent socialism. Socialism:1:a political theory advocating state ownership of industry; 2:an economic system based on state ownership of capital. So how is your argument valid again? Sure Obama isn’t the best president but he has done a hell of a lot better than you could have done or i could have done for that matter. Go back and get a better education kay?

The quantity of money “earned” vs. what is “fair” earnings for work done is actually a rather complex question. There are millions of people who work their guts out their entire lives and get very little back compared to the vast earnings of excessively wealthy people who can easily afford to hire others to manage their wealth for them in any case.

I don’t think anyone is really saying that the govt is “spending” money on the wealthy, it’s more a question of what kind of diversity of tax base is required to maximise the sustainability of government revenue.

Don’t forget that wealthy people and corporations need govt services too, even if it’s just the highway the chauffeur drives them on. In the case of large corporations it’s also critical that they’re able to use a whole range of publicly funded infrastructure for industrial and commercial purposes.

It’s too shallow to frame the issue in the way you have done, you need to think about it from the widest point of view possible. The world is not a simple place, and with the whole issue of wealth and earnings the economic and institutional complexity of it all is critical.

Isn’t it great that we live in a country where free speech is supposed to be respected. I will fight to the ends of the earth for her right to say what she wants, even though I hate every word of it.
I believe in mandatory TEMPORARY sterilization for those on public assistance. This includes the top 25 in any company receiving government bailouts. Once they are back on their feet, then they can reproduce again.

Those of you in America who don’t believe the healthcare system will work are mistaken. What about those who are sick and can’t afford the care? will you just let them die because they’re poor? let the rich have all the benefits? it’s ridiculous. As someone who lives in the UK where we have the NHS I can say it works! It’s a brilliant system and education aside I cant think of anything more worth spending the money on. screw the banks and corporations; spend the money on those who REALLY need it! You are so right, why, I remember in the 90′s when every rich person moved over seas after Clinton raised taxes on the rich, lowered taxes on the poor, brought this country out of the recession caused be the republican presidents before him, got our country it’s first surplus, got our unemployment to record lows to the point that if you didn’t have a job, it was because you didn’t want one, AND he kept us safer than we are today.

So God bless the conservatives, for tanking our economy, shipping American jobs over seas, waging needless wars on known false information, and creating a global climate that encourages and supports international terrorism.

That’s insane, I’d much rather have my tax money spent on corperate billionares then that two year old baby girl whose parents spend there money on drugs so they cannot afford her shots. what im saying with “the government is not a charity” is preceicly that! i was
using the mortgage crisis as just one of the many examples…i don’t believe
that any business should be bailed by the government…its a bad idea in my humble opinion. Also, SomeGuy, i do hope you realize Obama actually supports the idea of health care for EVERYBODY IN THE NATION! “Well whats wrong with that?” you might ask…there’s a lot wrong with that idea. First off, there are (according to Barack Obama’s website) that 47 million americans are not ensured with health care and that he is willing to give government health care to every american who doesnt have it. well, HE certainly isnt going to pay for the health care reforms from HIS own pocket do you? Of course not, he’ll simply put the burden on the tax payers. But I have to agree with you, that McCain will for sure stretch out our military, and isnt exactly “the man” for the job…i know in the previous comment i made, i said i’d vote for him as he was the lesser of two evils, but now, i believe he is on the same level as Barack Obama…so im not going to vote for either candidate…if you do vote though, dont feel pushed by your friends or family as to who to vote for, make your own rational decision… good luck

However your “the government is not a charity” theory doesn’t hold up when they’re bailing out the corporate lenders to the tune of millions of dollars and handing money to large corporations instead of taxing their income. Apparently the neoconservatives believe the government is only a charity if you’re a huge, multibillion dollar corporation who does most of it’s actual business outside this country.

But, hey, Obama might, say, cut corporate socialism and give us health care, or adequate education, or something absurd like that. Let’s vote for McCain. He’ll make sure we stretch the military farther by invading Iran.
