    This quote, being very witty, ought to be credited to the person who originally coined it. Namely, G.K. Chesterton.

      Actually the quote was originally coined by Andrew Lang, a Scottish academic who wrote prolifically on numerous subjects towards the end of the 19th and into the early part of the 20th Century.

      You will of course be excused, because this quote is very much like the style akin to Chesterton.
