One of the men in that photo is Jalaluddin Haqqani. Presently, his group is responsible for most of the American combat deaths in Afghanistan and is alleged to have ordered the suicide bombing of the CIA stattion. He also is alleged to have gotten Osama Bin Laden out of Afghanistan in late 2001. Bin Laden fought with him against the Soviets as far back as 1982. Al-Qaeda and the Taliban did not exist as organizations during the Reagan administration but the individuals who later made up these groups were supported by the U.S.. Haqqani himself was referred to as “goodness personified” by Congressman Charlie Wilson and as “the moral equivalent of our founding fathers” by Ronald Reagan. He received tens of millions of dollars of support from the American taxpayer via the CIA. So in essence, American taxpayers have funded the killing of its own troops and the CIA caused the deaths of its own agents. I hope people in Wahington will learn something about misguided good intentions.

Oh, not Alqaeda, thank goodness. So long as Ronald regan isn’t having tea with terrorist leaders of -that- faction its all peachy. I mean I would hate to think that Tax Payer money was being funnelled into political factions back then that would end up killing our soldiers today.

I spent 14 months in Iraq guarding her cult who almost worships women (yes women) that Sadaam gave funds, money and land to in return for “favors”. Money is like heroin, when you supply an addict they love you, once you cut off their supply, get ready for a war. and matchew i dont think you know what youre talking about. the main reasons they hate america are, USA supporting Israel and the bloody invasions.

P.S Im 15 , you don’t need to know ALL about history and all that crap. you just to have a sense of logic, common sense and know a small bit about whats happening around the world and what has happend. Just remember wisdom comes from those who pay attention. and yes i did get that from a book.

Al Qaeda wasn’t around then. Its an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, which if I recall correctly was mostly active in Saudi Arabia at the time.

Nit pick of the day….

There was no “al Qaeda” in Reagan’s day. “Taliban” would have meant something else back then.

“Mujahideen” OK, I guess. “Afghan Resistance”?

And now back to our regularly scheduled LOL program.
