It went away because it was never true. The McCains adopted a child from Bangladesh. Bush’s campaign twisted that into the “Black Love Child” story to torpedo McCain in the south. …And, it worked. I’m no fan of McCain. And, if he ever forgave Bush for smearing his daughter, I’m even LESS of a fan.

Happens on both sides. Some people get outcast from their party and some people cover up for years successfully with help of their party (R:Mark Foley, Libby, Gonzales, etc D: Spitzer, McGreevy, Murtha) Using fake Latin words doesn’t change that, but actually reading multiple sources does. There have been cases on both sides where the party sides with their man until the bitter end. Also, how is treating the First Lady like she’s running for Miss America different for American Idol? It’s great that she works for charitable organizations. It would be better if she didn’t start working for almost all of them in the last 3 years and publicize them heavily. You can check McCain’s own website to double check that one. Also, to preempt you, this also happens on both sides.

Please note this exhibit – posterus liberalis. They are noted for having no sense of moral outrage when one of their own does something stupid and gets caught. Instead, they make excuses for said behavior. But they overcompensate when the offender is politishus republicamus.

Politishus republicamus, on the other hand, is treated as a pariah by its own breed, and is usually expected to resign or make restitution.

Who really cares if his lovechild was black anyway? Not that it would be, it would be mixed, but nonetheless, if theres going to be scandals, race shouldn’t come into it. Though having been with a black woman might quell those rumours of him being racist. Oh wait, he has a Bangladeshi daughter anyway which should already do that. Not that those rumours should be there anyway.
