  1. Foamer says:

Yep, seems pretty definite. Whoever is running this site is an Obamaniac.

    • markmier says:

Yeah, that whole “voting” thing, it clearly has a liberal bias. Conservatives do much better when they can rig the elections.

      • Evil Pundit says:

Actually it’s the liberals who rig elections. Look at the recent convictions fopr voting fraud in the US — mostly Democratic Party supporters.

But keep telling yourself those propaganda points if it softens the pain of losing.

    • cheezburger says:

      Hi Foamer,

This is the site’s administrator. We wanted to chime in and say that the homepage images are driven by the votes on the voting pages. We’re equal opportunity make-funners.

So *ahem* if you want to change the system, go vote (or make funny lolz/captions that you’d like to see on here).

      Cheers,
      Chz

      • fillerbunny says:

        huzzah for truth!!!

      • hueydoc says:

I keep making funny ones about Obama, but they never seem to make it to the vote page- yet I keep seeing very offensive, juvenile ones about Republicans. I’ve even stopped letting my daughter use this site secondary to the really obscene words put on the vote page, Always describing Republicans.
If it really is vote driven, then why are there very few pictures of Obama on the Build page ? Much less ones that make him look stupid (like most of the other people featured).

        • GomerPhyls says:

The photos are uploaded by users too! Maybe it’s because Obama doesn’t provide as many photo ops where he’s looking dumb or doing something dumb.
I don’t ever see mine on the voting page either, but my friend has seen a few of them, so I think the voting system prevents you from voting on your own pictures…

          • Evil Pundit says:

McCain isn’t actually looking dumb or doing anything dumb in this picture, but it got voted to the front page anyway. Just because of the offensive, juvenile caption.

This website has potential, but at the moment it’s dominated by Obama supporters and this makes it very one-sided, discouraging others from participating.

            • lowly grunt says:

Please explain how this caption is juvenile and offensive.

              I thought it was funny.

But then I backed Edwards, so what do I know?

              • markmier says:

Yes, clearly you are a Commie Librul ™ so your opinion doesn’t count. Only McCain supporters’ opinions count.

(substitute *contemporary conservative candidate* for *McCain* for historical elections)

            • Komadori says:

I dunno. I laugh at ‘em all. :)

Gee, I love being a swing voter. n.n

            • fillerbunny says:

in other words, trying to make this another branch of Faux?

            • fjaradvax says:

“McCain isn’t actually looking dumb or doing anything dumb in this picture”: agreed, up to a point – and the caption’s not exactly side-splitting, but it’s hardly indicative of political bias on the part of the site now, is it? Compare and contrast: Hillary Clinton Wearing A Pantsuit; The Obamas Disembarking From An Aeroplane; George Bush… er… George Bush. Like tteh kitteh sez, “iz caled a capshun. u get used to dem”

      • Foamer says:

Hmmm… voting pages, haven’t seen those. Time to go hunting… and I’ve been making up quite a few LOL’s, some of which have been seen here.

      • Typical White Person says:

YOU still get to allow what YOU want and don’t want

  2. Hrafn says:

and so were all those pesky folks who went and voted the picture up… pity, i guess the picture voting must not have been done with Diebold machines, eh?

  3. Steve says:

    Foamer,
They’re obviously young. They say that if you’re young and not a liberal, you have no heart, and if you’re old and not a conservative, you have no brain. Somewhere reality has to set in. Probably when they get a family and a mortgage. I’m thinking that a few years after Obamessiah takes over, they’ll get tired of paying the higher taxes and begin to wise up.

    • Lallz says:

“If Democrats Had Any Brains They’d Be Republicans” ;]
Amusing book too, as much as I dislike Ms. Coulter.

    • bittervoter says:

Uh, yes. because families and home owners are doing *so* well under Bush’s economic policy. FYI, my parents are probably more than twice your age, raised 5 kids, have advanced degrees and are not the most liberal people in the world, and they still vote democrat.

      • Jane says:

        *applauds* Well said!

      • herb says:

Well said. For those that think deregulated free markets and tax breaks for the wealthy do so much to boost the economy…

        *looks around*

        *crickets chirping*

        … yeah. System’s lookin’ great.

        • bittervoter says:

Yes, exactly. I *love* it when people whine about how if the goverment gave big corperations tax cuts, it would create more jobs. Well gee, it seems like they’ve been getting alot of tax cuts lately, and people are still getting laid off left, right, and center.

    • fillerbunny says:

Republicanism is fueled by selfishness and greed… wait a minute, didn’t someone just post a comment saying that in the Book of Ezekiel, that’s the true definition of Sodomy??? Republicans ARE sodomites… huh, that explains a lot…

    • uhlume says:

Yeah, “they” also say there are two kinds of Republicans: millionaires, and suckers.

I’d say that’s as accurate as any other pithy saying you care to pull out of your ass.

    • IPG says:

Who says that? If you want a nice quote about conservatives that is acutally atributable, how about John Stuart Mill:
Conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives?

    • Snark says:

      Higher taxes where?

As a pharmacist, even married to another pharmacist, the combined joint pay of $200k every year still doesn’t get a tax hike under Obama.

As such, rest assured that I am shaking in my shoes about this new administration destroying my capability to feed my children.

  4. Caz says:

Aigh! Cruella Deville could be the first lady!

    Protect ur Dalmatians!

  5. Steve says:

For those that think deregulated free markets and tax breaks for the wealthy do so much to boost the economy…

Hmmm. Bush gets elected, cuts tax rates for all, the economy pulls out of Clinton-malaise slump, and all is well. The stock market booms, Congress (republicans and democrats) spend like drunken sailors – apologies to sailors – and portions of the economy tank. That’s not the President’s fault. Let’s put the blame squarely where it belongs – the Congress. Deregulated free markets and tax breaks work when they are allowed to work and when Congress can keep its collective hands out of our wallets.

Frankly, we’re screwed whether Obama or McCain gets elected. Both are too liberal for their own good. (Oops, aren’t we supposed to say ‘progressive’ these days? No, it’s liberal, I thought so.)

    • markmier says:

“Clinton-malaise slump”? Are you smoking crack? I am not saying that Clinton was the Saviour or anything, but what “slump” was a result of Clinton? Evidence please.

Yes, deregulated markets clearly are the solution to all our problems! Enron stock is at, what, 350 now? Oh, wait…

And Ken Lay was a BIG BUDDY of who? Bush? No wai! (note… I worked for an Enron subsidiary at the time, so don’t even think of saying I don’t know what I’m talking about). And… Congress had nothing to do with it, and in fact did not help to deregulate energy markets throughout the US? No WAI!!!!1!!1!

McCain is too liberal!!!!!!1!! Zomg. You *ARE* smoking crack. We’d be better with Bob Barr, right? That would solve everything.

      HA!!!!

  6. lowly grunt says:

They all look so happy, don’t they? ;-)

  7. Jamie says:

Sorry but this guy isn’t conservative. He’s just a republican. Much like there’s a difference in liberals and democrats.

  8. Steve says:

    Adam,
It’s okay, take a deep breath. Better now? Good. Now go join Susan Sarandon and George Clooney and the rest in whatever socialist paradise they choose to infest. Funny, though. They keep saying ‘I’m gonna move if Reagan/Bush/McCain gets elected,’ but they never do.

  9. adam says:

You really don’t get it, and oddly enough, ad hominem attacks *still* don’t amount to an argument. The truth of the matter is that over the past several hundred years, the liberal position has generally become accepted, and the conservative position generally rejected. The five-day work week is universal, interracial marriage is commonplace (except at places like Bob Jones University, although extreme external pressure has lifted the ban), and women’s right to vote has become commonly accepted.

Why do I side with the liberals? Because while I don’t necessarily believe that all liberal ideas are right, I admire the track record, even though I believe, for example, in tougher programs for dealing with the homeless.

I’ll actually be less likely to move if a Republican gets elected. Why? Because my country will need my help.

I live in California. I hope for our sake that you never come here, but realize–we get something like seventy-nine cents for each dollar of tax we send to the federal treasury. For true-red states like Montana, it’s more like two bucks. You use our software, you browse our websites, you buy our hardware, you watch our television shows and movies. Reject our values if you want, but be prepared to have the might of the most populous and influential state in the Union against you, and don’t whine if you lose. We don’t–we tighten our bootlaces and jump back into the fray.

  10. Jamie says:

    Ok then…..well….better now?
Read your rants…interesting. But was the f-bomb really needed for like every 5th word or so? Doesn’t help with getting the point across.
    Sincerely,
A gun toting redneck in Mississippi.

    • adam says:

I have three F-bombs in that 552-word piece, which is substantially fewer than “every 5th word or so.” Perhaps it is more than I ought to have used, but I believe that my reasoning stands, regardless of the violations of decorum I may have committed.

I also support the right to private gun ownership, subject to regulation (as allowed in the 2d Amendment). While I own no firearms myself, I intend to purchase some as soon as I have enough discretionary income. As it is, I am spending enough money on student loans and health insurance.

You have no remaining arguments in the text you have posted. Have a nice day.

  11. Evil Pundit says:

Would you like some cheese to go with that whine?

    • adam says:

I will reply in more detail once you post an argument.

      • Evil Pundit says:

I didn’t read past the first sentence of your screed, and I doubt I’d be interested in any reply you might make either.

        • Jane says:

If you didn’t read it how are you in any way justified in making a comment disagreeing with it?

          • Evil Pundit says:

I said I read the first sentence. That was enough to tell that it was a mindless hate rant.

            • fillerbunny says:

yes, because extended reading to view supporting facts is SO time-wasting… I’m glad to see you share your president’s attitude…

            • IPG says:

How the hell is that a hate rant? Seriously, disagreeing with you makes it a hate rant? Or is it just that a political argument that contains more than 7 words, two of them being “dumb” and “liberal” goes beyond your mental capacity?

  12. Jamie says:

32 in the first, 23 in the second, and 23 in the last one. Wasn’t talking about your post, just the articles.
So thank you and have a nice day.

    • adam says:

Fine, if you want to judge me by my sources–that’s a reasonable thing to do, but I’d ask you to judge the sources they link to as well. Anyway, that’s 858 words in the first, 1985 in the second, and 2324 in the third–one F-bomb per 26, 86, and 101 words. You demonstrate a tendency typical among conservatives of not understanding statistics.

As I said above: come back with an argument.

      • Jamie says:

Sigh..I think you’re missing the point. It has NOTHING to do with statistics. I understand it’s a rant, but people would take it more seriously if it didn’t sound like it came from a pissed high school kid.

        • Snark says:

          Aha, wait, I get it.

“Two plus two clearly equals seven, if logical rules are to be followed.”
is to be taken SO much more seriously than
“no asshat 2 plus 2 equals 4, put some dam pennies on a table and count.”

          Yes . . . yes . . . ah, I see your point.

  13. Seward says:

Hear, hear. No particular other point to make; I just wanted to make a stand for the argument.

  14. fillerbunny says:

    You’re my hero…. seriously.

  15. Prospero says:

This should read: “my second wife’s money”, actually.

  16. Kelley says:

    adam:

    Awfully angry but still accurate.

There’s no debating with people who have long since stopped thinking and researching for themselves and let Limbaugh & Co. do their thinking for them. I know because I used to be one of them. There is hope that they will one day find their own brain again.

I enjoy all the LOLs and long live cheezburgers!

  17. Ryan says:

This website has potential, but at the moment it’s dominated by Obama supporters and this makes it very one-sided, discouraging others from participating.

Ahhhhhh, poor baby! Do you need your blanky? Did the bad bad liberal make the good ol’ conservative sad?

  18. Ignatz says:

You want to see what a deregulated industry is capable of? Read Upton Sinclair’s “The Jungle”. It’s about the Chicago stockyards in the 19th century. No job security, no safety regulations, and deliberate contamination of the food supply for profit. For a more recent example, look at Enron taking California power plants offline for ‘maintenance’ and thereby jacking electrical rates through the ceiling. Look at oil-market speculation. Look at military support services getting contracted to private companies (Halliburton, Bechtel, et al.) who screw the soldiers every chance they get. (Bad food, incompetent servicing of military equipment, overcharging for fuel, it goes on and on.)

Unfortunately, industries have shown themselves to be incapable of self-regulation. They can’t be trusted to earn profits honestly by treating their workers well and dealing fairly with customers and society in general. Mostly they act like spoiled five-year-olds fighting over a birthday cake. That’s when the grownups have to step in. People complain about the ‘nanny state’: stop acting like you need a nanny!

    • hueydoc says:

Unfortunately, the government is even worse- they cannot control themselves either. So you either get screwed by a greedy company or by an incompetent government!
( “I’m from the government and I’m here to help you!”)

  19. huh? says:

    Hehehehe
    My wife’s money.
    Hehehehe
Yea, I have no idea what this means or what most of your arguments mean.
I’m going to vote for Ross Perot.

  20. Joe says:

    Adam…you rock. Nuff said!

    My two cents:

Obama is by no means a savior, and I disagree with some of his policies. ‘Free trade’(aka selling out the U.S.) and his stance on immigration.

However, the U.S. troops and economy could not survive 8 years under a Mcain presidency.

Back in the 30′s-40′s, war helped get us out of a Great Depression. The economy is so different now that continuing this ILLEGAL war is dragging us down into one.

Support the troops by BRINGING THEM HOME.

  21. Ignatz says:

Really? I’m voting for Pat Paulsen, myself.

  22. Kevin T. says:

Nah, even if he didn’t marry his rich (and sort of evil looking) wife, he’d still work hard, get a job, make his own money, and not suck at the government teat until he died.

  23. Typical White Person says:

At least she’s not a pissed off racist like Obama’s wife.

  24. Emy says:

“I’ve even stopped letting my daughter use this site secondary to the really obscene words put on the vote page, Always describing Republicans.”

    LOL CENSORSHIP!

This is a really good one.

Also, free trade is economically correct.

  25. Greatest caption yet! Let me cheat on my disfigured wife and then marry Ms. Money Bags~

  26. trusts says:

    this one is so true.
