Speed Limit: 40 knots. And no left turn until you are clear of the waterway markings.

(At first, I thought he was peeing into the street/canal…)

  5. Tim says:

I think that’s the Quincy Memorial Bridge in Quincy, IL. That would be the bridge that crosses the Mississippi River into Quincy from West Quincy (crosses into Illinois from Missouri).

    • Lisa says:

Yep you would be correct as someone who grew up around there and use to gas up in West Quincy 3 times a week. My family still Lives in Barry Illinois

  6. TurkyBacon says:

I think its when some of the U.S. started flooding and this guy needed to use a toilet. Look at how he’s standing! Either that or the navy made their high dive pool.

  7. Tim says:

That’s the Quincy Memorial Bridge in Quincy, IL. QMB carries traffic from the Missouri side of the Mississippi River (that’s the side this is taken from… West Quincy, MO) into Illinois. There is another bridge called the Bayview Bridge that carries traffic from Illinois to Missouri.

Go to the Quincy Herald-Whig’s image gallery (http://whig.mycapture.com/mycapture/index.asp) and go to their daily gallery for 6/25/08. There are some similar pictures there.

    Enjoy!

Oh please, I served 17.5 years in both the Active and Guard and did my year in Afghanistan as well as Hurricane Katrina duty. I almost busted a gut when I saw this.

I don’t see how this could even remotely be picking on the soldier. I took it that the joke is the soldier thinks he left the water running before he deployed.

You must think we soldiers have really thin skins if you think this would irritate us.

*ps Hi Gramma & Grampa! Stay dry!

  13. redheadradical says:

Yep that is the Quincy Memorial Bridge. We did plenty of sandbagging for the weeks that this bridge was flooded. The caption is funny and I have three children serving in the armed forces.
