I don’t see how this could even remotely be picking on the soldier. I took it that the joke is the soldier thinks he left the water running before he deployed.

You must think we soldiers have really thin skins if you think this would irritate us.

QMB carries traffic from the Missouri side of the Mississippi River (that’s the side this is taken from… West Quincy, MO) into Illinois. There is another bridge called the Bayview Bridge that carries traffic from Illinois to Missouri.
