In case you don’t know the story behind the fema failers, they were ordered immediately after hurricane katrina. Most were left in storage, though bought and paid for. The rest were infected and awful. It wasn’t about unpreparedness, it was about wasting more money on a politicians family business or corporate interest.

And the ultimate sadness comes from the FACT that FEMA has absolute authority over everything during a crisis. Legally, we haven’t left crisis since the National Emergency Act passed.

There’s also 800 FEMA camps in the US, all across the states. Emergency housing for citizens, with fences pointed inward, and all the comforts of a cold war era military base converted into a prison.

We’re all just sitting around waiting for the next “National Emergency”. Bush’s presidential directives have expanded the already ridiculous gap in power between those with money and those with souls.

1. Louisiana was not the only one living in FEMA trailers.
I’m from Mississippi.. we got the eye of Katrina.
2. There are still people living in BOTH states in FEMA trailers… and there were hordes of never used ones.. i.e. what that pic is showing..

FEMA- Unprepared, and doesn’t know when enough is enough.

puns are rarely funny. puns are more about being clever… sometimes that cleverness is done quite well, and it’s funny. but mostly, you’re just playing on words, no punchline or big laugh.

Those trailers would have worked just fine here. We don’t have the heat and humidity of Louisiana.

I went to a wedding in Louisiana. The weather report said it was perfect: 100 degrees, 100% humidity. Under those conditions, particle board, and people put out toxic fumes.

This is what “no bid” contracts get you—acres and acres of unused but 120% paid for trailers, that were churned out and unsafe at any speed.

But the Bush admin is definitely pro-business. Just wish it was pro-taxpayer. *sigh*

Personally, I think its funny b/c its true. Of course, I was offered one and turned it down; I had a choice, many people didn’t. For people who have lived in one, I’m sure its good to hear some truth about them, but maybe not so funny. Still, I give it high marks for being on point.

excuse you ‘fyrman’ but unless you’ve actually lived in one of those trailers, I’d suggest keeping quiet. I did live in one, and they are THAT bad. Try opening the door of your ‘brand new “trailer”‘ and having to wipe down the walls because they are coated in a yellow slime due to the formaldehyde inside them. Let’s see you pay my daughter’s doctor bills because of all the ‘chronic illnesses’ that you’re sick of seeing.

There is nothing wrong with those trailers. There isn’t anything different that went into the basic construction of those trailers that doesn’t go into any other rv. I’m tired of seeing the formaldehyde and chronic illness issue come up. If those trailers made people sick, and they are getting a cash payment because of the handout they received, then I want to see every rv owner and rv service tech get a settlement also.
