Its a wuff job…but someone has to do it
Loving this thread. Comment WIN!
douche
You’re the douche… look he’s just trying to get the dog to be happy.
I think it’s amazing… regardless of whether or not I agree with the war, this is a sweet picture. :]
Military Boy win!
Puppy’s waggin’ his tail. ^^
I’d rather see THIS then some a$$h0le Marines launch a dog off a cliff.
A statement came out recently — The Marines involved have received non-judicial punishment and have been processed for separation from the USMC.
Doesn’t make what happened to that puppy alright, but I’m glad it wasn’t allowed to slide without consequences.
Does it SEEM normal for you or I to toss a baby off a cliff? They threw a puppy off a cliff because they had nothing better to do than be a bunch of pricks! The Iraquis hate us FOR incidents like that. And whether or not military justice “says” the took care of the problem” they still should get some jail time.
Oh my gosh are you serious? You really think the Iraquis hate us for that? There are stray dogs EVERYWHERE AROUND THERE. One puppy to them honestly doesn´t make a difference! Their aren´t many animal rights activists in Iraq.
Wow, jumping to illogical conclusions FTL….
I said for incidents LIKE that. Mainly because of the murder of innocent civilians is why they hate us so much. Remember the Marine that went postal and shot a whole family to death? Why don’t you take your head out of your ass and watch something OTHER than Fox News. You might learn something.
Gah, silly link didn´t post.
I´ll try again, though I saw some guy post his it and it posted the same thing 800 times.
anyways.
Look up on CNN a search fo Hidaltha, click on the most RECENT article, not just the one that you feel like reading, and then…..READ IT
I´m gonna try to post the link again.
By the way, the most recent one is in June 2008.
If you are talking about the one with Steven D. Green, he is currently being charged for 16 different counts of premeditated murder. He is most likely going to get the death sentence, and I agree with that.
If are you talking about Haditha you need to up date yourself.
Lastly listen to the compliments the soliders get in the streets, things like ´You are Gods warriors´ are often spoken.
But you read CNN, you wouldn´t know that.
Also I got all this information off CNN, is that okay I used your special website?
Haditha***** I´ve been in Spain too long…
Actually, we don’t KNOW the reasons for them throwing a dog off the cliff. We do know this though…there are individuals here in the US, few though they may be, that are as sick and depraved and commit similar actions, so one shouldn’t conclude that they act this way due to their military experience. It’s not a surprise that a few of these disturbed individuals make it into the armed forces where their actions reflect poorly on the whole. As is always the case, people tend to gravitate to those like themselves, so when they’re serving, they tend to hang-out with guys who are (surprise!) like them…and they tend to feed off each other.
But what I do know is this: While we react, respond, and punish OUR guys (no matter how mild you believe the punishment to be), Do you really think Al-qaeda would do the same? Of course not…they are the ones who target innocent civillians, why would they care about a dog? For them, killing a dog (mostly an unholy or unclean animal to many if not most muslims, with the exception of saluki’s) is probably grounds for advancement.
Here here! Also, I might like to add (and these comments are, of course, not directed at you sweetroscoe, but at the person you were replying to): I love my dog dearly, and I think the torture of animals is horrifying and those marines needed to be punished. However, since when is throwing a baby off a cliff the same as a dog?! One is human life, the other is a dog. Like I said, it is in no way okay, but you can NOT say that they are the same.
I see where you’re coming from with that, but in my opinion, dogs are equal to humans.
What f’ing reason would a soldier have for holding a puppy up, tossing it off the cliff and then laughing about it!?!? Does that seem NORMAL to you??
Non-judicial punishment or NJP is no joke or slap on the wrist. Its consequences usually involve time in restriction 45/45, (45 days in restriction with 45 days of extra duty) Half month’s pay x1 or x2, (from $700-1800 depending on their paygrade assuming they were E-1 to E-4) reduction in rank, and if they’re being processed for separation from an NJP, that means that they’ll have a tough go finding a job with anything other than honorable or general discharge.
Look i was a Marine and i would have personally kicked the shit out of that little prick if i was there. They are no longer Marines and they will carry the mark of disgrace with them for the rest of their lives. One of the kids family is in hiding because of all the harassment and threats they are receiving because of what he did.
He should be in hiding. I hope PETA gets a hold of them.
PETA would just give a slap on the wrist in public and 100 bucks under the counter. they kill many, many stray animals behind the public eye.
PETA sucks
Indeed they do suck. All they add up to is a group of self righteous hypocrites who judge people for doing what nature intended humans and other predators to do,eat what doesn’t eat you first. We’re the only species where we fight over the rights of our species and others.Yes,we must have rights,But heaven forbid we take responsibility for ourselves. We typically link intelligence to book smarts, often overlooking common sense and instinct, the most common way NOT to get killed according to other species in nature.Watch 1,000 ways to die and you’ll see what I mean. Some people just need to get off the internet and turn off the t.v. It’s called,”Thinking outside the box.”Not all things can be learned from those sources.
*stamp*
And how dare PETA want animals to not live starved and tortured lives before they are killed and eaten by the superior race of humans! Those animals were going to eat us first! They’re just a bunch of loonies anyway so we can discount any good they may do or try to do! Shame on PETA! Up with animal abuse! When Nature created the food chain she clearly intended us to be supreme and that gives us the right to torture animals before killing and eating them and wearing them for clothes!
Aww
I love it.
Sometimes it’s the animals that lead the way.
This is a super sweet picture.
What you said! Comment WIN!
Doggie looks like he could use a meal or two.
With all the horrifying stories you hear about dogs being used as target practice and whatnot, this is so good to see.
Yay for not baby-bathwatering!
you mean that one fak-ey video?
there’s more to it that one video.
while the comment on the picture is somewhat stupid, the picture is sweet! My boyfriend is overseas right now, and he was so excited to find a dog on his base. Most of those guys love and want to take care of the animals they find, but of course we only hear about the one jerk out of thousands of soldiers.
Yeah, imagine having 17 Killed In Market Bombing as your top story ahead of Soldier Offers Dog Stick, Film At 11.
Apparently you don´t know many soliders personally. Their are a lot of wonderful stories to be written about along with the horrible ones….
Exactly. There are many wonderful stories, and some great guys just out there doing their jobs.
And Ceefax, yeah, imagine that. people probably wouldn’t care about Soldier Offers Dog Stick. But, the worst part is, 17 Killed in Market Bombing usually doesn’t make the news either. My boyfriend had several colleagues die recently. Guess where I found that story? Buried in the last paragraph of a story about the jailbreak in Kandahar. So my real point is, let just talk about our soldiers period. and NOT the stories about the one idiot out there who did something stupid that 99% of soldiers would love to kick his ass for.
I’d love to see more stories about the soldiers who adopt dogs. Or the soldiers who are giving out candy and food to little Iraqi or Afghan children. Or just the soldiers who went over there because someone asked them to and they do their job so the rest of us can sit at home and whine about it.
Agreed. Too often it stands as such: Do something bad and 100 people are told. Do something good and only 1 person is told.
There is actually a charity that is raising money to bring home animals from Iraq called Operation Baghdad Pups, many soldiers don’t want to leave them behind.
I heard about that. It’s wonderful. But back to the replies I got. A life is a life. Regardless of the fact that it’s an animal. I’m a pet sitter and I was horrified to see that video. And yes, some disturbed people end up in the military. But it was a JOKE to them. They laughed as they threw the dog off the cliff. If they had done that HERE in the States they’d get jail time.
Which actually, makes us look crazier then what that solider did. I don´t know any country that considers the life a dog that precious.
clearly the lolmanagement is trying to appear liberal-conservative neutral.
Hey guy, take a break. Either think it out better or go get some rest.
republicans don’t like dogs?
only as food
arent the some left wing folks trying to ban pit bulls (yes, pit bulls are dogs)…. oh, yeah, thats peta
*there
*facepalm*
Dogs are the only American symbol over there other than fellow troops and 7-Up. Dogs don’t stab you in the back by giving away your positions or dance on your vehicles when they’re burned out like the Iraqi’s do. There are tons of instances when dogs have saved someone’s life or even a whole units life. Hear that on the news? Never. They’re more interested in showing you signs of failure to comfort the liberals
My hubs has told me that sometimes the dogs do give away your position sometimes (inadvertently) by barking when the patrols go by, or coming over wagging their tails hoping for a snack.
I have heard that a lot of the guys really love having the doggies around the bases though, cuz it’s kind of like having a comfort-of-home there.
At least it’s not on purpose. xD
I hear enough stories over here about dogs saving people in one way or another. But ofcourse, as usual, the extremities get way more attention then the normal folks. Nothing to do with comforting liberals, all to do with ratings and thus cash.
Anyway, sweet picture
Heh, because the plural of anecdote is data, amiright? You’ll never hear the stories of dogs or dolphins not saving lives…
Cute picture anyway.
Actually I HAVE heard about that.
i love this pic and cap but uhh were did he get teh toy lol?
probably in a care package. I send my boyfriend toys that he could give out to the Afghan children near his base. Someone probably did the same for this soldier.
the only people worth saving over there.
Offensive caption.
offensive crotchwaffle. Hein=PC FAIL
i wrote this caption as a quasi ironic comment on the whole concept of
‘hearts and minds”. obviously i wasn’t equating people to dogs in any derogatory way.
lighten up.
How is THAT offensive???
Be sure to check out Operation Baghdad Pups
The first thing I thought of when I saw this: a dog brought by a soldier from Iraq tested positive for rabies – risking the return of canine-specific rabies, which has been eliminated from the US (as opposed to, say, raccoon rabies, which dogs can get but not as easily).
…yeah, I know.
don’t be silly, there is still canine rabies in the US, dogs have to be vaccinated every year and there are still outbreaks. do some research godddd
Now that was a real PHAIL.
Not only offensive but also epic phail.
How? Proofplz.
i’ve heard stories of companies “adopting” dogs and bringing them home when they left it’s a great deal for the dogs, they get food and a place to sleep. they’ve even helped on night patrols, barking at anybody approaching.
Awww… iz sweet picshur… I iz a sucker for animalz…
Caption made me think dogs were being equated to Iraqis. FAIL.
But if it was meant to imply that we win world-wide friends thru acts of Kindness (not bombs and bullets), then WIN.
do they eat their dogs in iraq?
I’m in Iraq right now. There are dogs everywhere. And the Iraqi people are no better. They are disgusting people. Unclean and they are arrogant. I have no respect for the common folk here. Even the IA (Iraqi Army) and IP (Iraqi Police) are crooked and corrupt.
Poor Gog
Just like the US eh Sam?
