The owner of this house has lost his/her home, and maybe friends and family members in a disaster.
We have a flag outside our house too, and i can guarantee you that if we have to evacuate for any reason I am not going to give a crap about the scrap of fabric on the pole outside.

No, there is no ‘laws’ written in the US Code anywhere; you might be talking about “United States Flag Code” which *advises* on the display and care, but there is no penalty for failure to comply with it and it is not widely enforced.

Post WW2, however, America began to mirror the Nazi’s philosophy on waging war and adopted the “quality over quantity” approach. This means that war no longer stimulated the economy because America no longer loses enough of anything to justify building a new assembly line to replace the stuff. Have we lost even a dozen tanks and/or planes in Gulf War2 ? Have the casualties we’ve sustained made any dent in the total figure for unemployment? We don’t even waste that much in terms of munitions. Now we do with one smart bomb what used to require a half hour artillery barrage. Oh sure, the new missiles cost more, but does that make for more jobs? Not in the least. A dozen fairly paid factory worker from WW2 has been replaced by a single overpaid factory working in GW2. The other eleven potential workers are still left unemployed.

War no longer revitalizes the American economy anymore because we’ve simply gotten too good at waging war. We no longer lose enough equipment, expend enough munitions or take enough casualties for war to make any dent in the state of unemployment; a state which, at last check, had a higher population that 38 of the 50 states of the USA.

But Most Conservatives know Bush sold us out, WE know he dropped the ball on a couple of KEY issues. One of the problems is and was he let the left talk him into a “sanitary war” Had he gone in like MOST of the conservative base wanted We would have been out of Iraq a long time ago… but he held on to Rummy.
So here we are, EITHER of the candidates will remove our troops before the other would. Obama talks, he flips and flops… As of now troops will be coming home early BUT the democrats cant have that.. look for violence to rise in Iraq over the next couple of weeks, gotta give Obama some talking points.

FEMA is an extension of the Federal Government. The Constitution prohibits the federal government from interfering in the sovereign processes of state government activity.

The same law that protects California’s right to allow gay marriage prevents FEMA from entering a state without invitation.

FEMA proactively stages resources well in advance, and proactively encourages state governments to invite them in. LA rejected that opportunity at the moment of crisis.

Your Louisiana taxes paid Blanco and Nagin to decide to try and ride Katrina out on their own.

Bush immediately goes to NYC in 2001, and he gets accused of using 9/11 as a political photo-op.
