  1. dude says:

wow the whiteman really cant stand China doing well or being on the rise. but we already knew that.

  2. ema says:

Funny, but looks more like South America…

    • ice_army says:

You know, I think you’re right. The uniforms don’t look like standard chinese army, or what I’ve seen their ”policemen” wearing…..
I must say, I LOLed, anyway. I’m all for the olympics, and I usually enjoy watching when I have a free moment. However, this year I refuse to watch. What more does china have to do to make others open their eyes to the human rights violations? I’m american, and I know we’re not perfect(yeah, go ahead and throw GITMO in my face), but seriously? Shoot protesters? Oh, sorry, they’ve already done that in the past few years…. Let me see, lock people up for 20+ years for voicing a dissenting opinion? Oh, already did that too…. Maybe enforcing the 1 child law by forcing women to have abortions? Oh, already did that…. WAKE UP PEOPLE

    • ema says:

I don’t remember seeing Chinese police or military dressed in camoflage in any other photo, also there is a tall white guy in the background in the same uniform… The sign is not in Chinese script… is this really China?

    • TheLarrikin says:

Actually, that’s the Tibetan flag. Could be anywhere, however, but most likely China.

      • TheLarrikin says:

Sorry – to specify, that’s the Tibetan flag *on her shirt*.

        • ema says:

but, how can you even see it?

          • TheLarrikin says:

            wiki Tibet.

The flag is alternating Red/Blue radial stripes with a yellow sun in the middle, and a white triangle from the bottom (which you can’t see).

The flag and any semblance of it is banned in China.

            • ema says:

guess you’re right, hard to see though – still confused about the white guy and the english script signs though… any ideas?

              • TheLarrikin says:

                See below. ;)

If you’ve watched the Olympics, you might have noticed the Chinese uniforms (for gymnastics and such). They often have “China” written in English on them.

It’s an Official language of the Olympics, so why wouldn’t it be used?

      • notaracist says:

riiiiiighhhtttttt…. its china but those arent chinese people, the language is english, there is a pro-tibet native chinese protestor (hahahaha), a 1950s era truck, and there is a big ole gweilo in the background. lololololol

can you douchebags even find china on the map? but you know its a bad scary unfree place right? lol

let’s unite and just stop buying their stuff, watching their olympics, eating their food, selling our debt, and etc

dat china is in yer world, stealing your hegemony. oh noes!!

        • ema says:

are you chinese? what is your problem?

        • Evil Pundit says:

You make a lot of stupid racist assumptions.

        • TheLarrikin says:

Asia in general has many signs with English upon them. I’ve been there on multiple occasions. So, just because it’s English doesn’t mean it’s *not* China.

Why would they be roughing her up? The Tibetan flag and any semblance thereof is banned in China. So, just because there’s a protestor doesn’t mean it’s *not* China.

China has many vehicles that are not up-to-date. They can’t always afford vehicles from the 80′s up (as most Americans have), and if it’s a military vehicle (looks to be), it could be older. So, just because it’s an old truck doesn’t mean it’s *not* China.

          Think.

        • ema says:

man you are steamed about something, take some deep breaths… seek help.

    • Jim says:

I think you’re right. All people in neck holds look oriental for some reason. But the only visible writing is in English so I’m not sure where it is.

  3. notaracist says:

what crap. those arent chinese people and it aint china. yeah you all do seem to just really hate china and the chinese people. but there are more of them than you all combined, and they aint becoming like you. not now, not ever. so y’all just gonna have to adjust. lmao.

why dont you all boycott china and all things chinese? maybe lock the immigrants up? lololol

    • TheLarrikin says:

      notaracist, you’re a racist.

-they aint becoming like you. not now, not ever.

Look at their energy consumption – the facts tend to differ (from your opinion, that is).

    • ema says:

why do you think we hate china? be specific please?

    • ice_army says:

I like the chinese people. I like chinese movies- in chinese- the dubbed ones are horrid. I really like chinese movies, dialect, and culture. What I do not like is the chinese gov’t and human rights violations. There, see, I can type coherent, intelligent thoughts. Go back to Deliverence, notaracist!

    • James says:

The Chinese people are fine. That’s why I hate the Chinese government so much. You’re a moron who’s ideological devotion to defending anything that any American might dare say is screwed up (other than the US, of course, because we’re the most screwed up, right?) is blinding you to the fact that people really do suffer under policies that you don’t know anything about, but assume are fine simply because they’re not American.

    • Jane says:

Anytime someone actually types the word “y’all” is a major red flag. You sir, may be ‘notaracist’ but you are clearly ‘notagenius’ as well.

      • markmier says:

I agree with your assessment of “notaracist” but I must disagree with your assessment of the word “y’all.” It’s a perfectly cromulent word, and in all seriousness, what word do YOU use for second person plural? I’ve heard, “You” (ambiguous), “Youse Guys” (New Jersey — nuff said), “All of you” (awkward)… what’s wrong with “Y’all”?

        • Jane says:

Nothing wrong with “y’all” in spoken conversation, which is by definition less formal than written conversation. I realize that this is the internet, however the act of typing a response generally makes most people put a little bit of thought into their writing. “Y’all” is more of a dialect thing, and I admit I used it during the several years I lived in Virginia. However, for the most part I use “you” for second person plural, it’s only ambiguous when taken out of context.

        • Jane says:

I should also add that unless you are attempting to illustrate a strong voice in your writing for an artistic reason, most people tend to adhere to writing rules, which as I said are more strict than spoken language. Again, I realize this is the internet and I never expect perfect spelling in grammer (since I don’t always have that ability myself) I just feel that someone who has taken the time to type the phrase “y’all” is either trying to look like a dumbass or in fact is.

          • ema says:

Which is really doubly weird because he uses words like “gweilo” and “hegemony” which are kind of advanced vocabulary for a dumbass.

            • Jane says:

The mysteries of teh interwebs my friend.

            • markmier says:

Indeed. I maintain that “y’all” is a perfectly cromulent word, especially on teh intarwebs. Maybe not in formal writing, but… this isn’t formal writing, y’all. :)

Interesting to note that in his screed of 8/13, 8:08am, notaracist types “you all” three times, and “y’all” once. Also, “aint” (not “ain’t”) twice.

Yes, clearly not the sharpest person.

              • markmier says:

Stupid unintended winky smiley. I wish there were a “preview” command, or even if the edit box were big enough so it wouldn’t run off the edge!

                • Jane says:

Oh come on, you were winking at me, admit it!

                • Jane says:

I will concide your point that “y’all” by definition does not automatically make one a half-wit, however added to the overwhelming evidence already stacked against ‘notagenius’ I think it damages his case a bit.

                • TheLarrikin says:

There’s a feature in Opera called “Fit To Width” which will adjust page formatting so that the word formatting just now didn’t drop off into oblivion. Maybe check it out?

            • Trainwreck Chaser says:

I still am investing in my monkey theory.

Maybe he has a dictionary near by him.

    • Trainwreck Chaser says:

My sources tell me notaracist is a monkey. An monkey that got ahold of a key board.

Post some bananas and they’ll go away

Demetri Martin: Banana is one of those hard words to write, you start out ‘Bana’ then you go ‘Bananana’. Crap!

    • johnnycomelately says:

Right, because to criticize a government for the way they oppress their people is the same as feeling racially superior to said oppressed people. Idiot.

  4. The Dude says:

With recent news that China tricked and faked parts of the opening ceremony, the caption is pretty hilarious although the actual picture is not in China.

  5. Trainwreck Chaser says:

Notaracist! I have bananas! Comment under me if you want some!

  6. A says:

But wait! We can’t have Tibetans or their sympathizers inside the stadium! It’ll look like we’ve gone soft.

  7. hueydoc says:

    “Tibetan Conservative posts Anti-Obama LOL”

  8. Richard says:

Why don’t people just comment on the picture and move on. Why flame all the time. Good picture by the way :)

  9. PiMan says:

It is possible that it is in South America as suggested earlier. Perhaps a Tibetan protester during the torch relay.

  10. A.Ho says:

The Chinese officials/military/police’s uniforms are not like that….that’s not china… stop saying it’s china

  11. ThisIsSad says:

*sigh* Can’t you people tell? This is Nepali Police! That’s the Nepali police uniform.

  12. Cellie says:

    aww :(

i wanz to b in teh stadeeum

    i r next!

  13. Nova says:

Actually if you take a look at the picture without the caption the sign in the background says “****R AIRWAYS” and seeing as generally the signs in most Asian countries that I know of tend to have their signs in, I dont know, Chinese, Japanese, Thai etc…. One would have to assume that its not an Asian country at all, or for that matter quite possibly anything to do with the Olympics at all…..
I do have to say, Racist bigotry really does bring out the best in everyone dosnt it……

  14. blackmirages says:

can’t we all just agree that this is a funny picture with a funny caption?
if me and my friends dressed up like that, threw a truck in the background, forced someone white the way they are, everyone would be laughing and think it was a pep rally. everyone knows the horrors and sadness of the world, but looking at the world with a bit of humor in it is what’s important.
its just a funny picture, or call me canadian, but just enjoy the humor in it

now what i would like to draw attention to is the fact that its two girls dragging him away. girls kick butt! lol

  15. Patrick Hung says:

It is a Nepali police uniform. They have also had
problems with the Tibetan exiled nobility. The
assumption that it is China really does show up US
racism. The government in Nepal has been much harsher
than China with Tibetan protesters. Remember the CIA
supported these exiles insurrection in China
from Nepali territory. Nepal has no sympathy for
these trouble makers and often beats protesters.

  16. Know It All says:

How can i add this to my favorites?
    The option button is gone!
Is it because i live in China?
    Dang it
