It is a Nepali police uniform. They have also had
problems with the Tibetan exiled nobility. The
assumption that it is China really does show up US
racism. The government in Nepal has been much harsher
than China with Tibetan protesters. Remember the CIA
supported these exiles insurrection in China
from Nepali territory. Nepal has no sympathy for
these trouble makers and often beats protesters.

can’t we all just agree that this is a funny picture with a funny caption?
if me and my friends dressed up like that, threw a truck in the background, forced someone white the way they are, everyone would be laughing and think it was a pep rally. everyone knows the horrors and sadness of the world, but looking at the world with a bit of humor in it is what’s important.
its just a funny picture, or call me canadian, but just enjoy the humor in it

now what i would like to draw attention to is the fact that its two girls dragging him away. girls kick butt! lol

Actually if you take a look at the picture without the caption the sign in the background says “****R AIRWAYS” and seeing as generally the signs in most Asian countries that I know of tend to have their signs in, I dont know, Chinese, Japanese, Thai etc…. One would have to assume that its not an Asian country at all, or for that matter quite possibly anything to do with the Olympics at all…..
I do have to say, Racist bigotry really does bring out the best in everyone dosnt it……

Indeed. I maintain that “y’all” is a perfectly cromulent word, especially on teh intarwebs. Maybe not in formal writing, but… this isn’t formal writing, y’all.

Interesting to note that in his screed of 8/13, 8:08am, notaracist types “you all” three times, and “y’all” once. Also, “aint” (not “ain’t”) twice.

I should also add that unless you are attempting to illustrate a strong voice in your writing for an artistic reason, most people tend to adhere to writing rules, which as I said are more strict than spoken language. Again, I realize this is the internet and I never expect perfect spelling in grammer (since I don’t always have that ability myself) I just feel that someone who has taken the time to type the phrase “y’all” is either trying to look like a dumbass or in fact is.

Nothing wrong with “y’all” in spoken conversation, which is by definition less formal than written conversation. I realize that this is the internet, however the act of typing a response generally makes most people put a little bit of thought into their writing. “Y’all” is more of a dialect thing, and I admit I used it during the several years I lived in Virginia. However, for the most part I use “you” for second person plural, it’s only ambiguous when taken out of context.

If you’ve watched the Olympics, you might have noticed the Chinese uniforms (for gymnastics and such). They often have “China” written in English on them.

It’s an Official language of the Olympics, so why wouldn’t it be used?

Asia in general has many signs with English upon them. I’ve been there on multiple occasions. So, just because it’s English doesn’t mean it’s *not* China.

Why would they be roughing her up? The Tibetan flag and any semblance thereof is banned in China. So, just because there’s a protestor doesn’t mean it’s *not* China.

China has many vehicles that are not up-to-date. They can’t always afford vehicles from the 80′s up (as most Americans have), and if it’s a military vehicle (looks to be), it could be older. So, just because it’s an old truck doesn’t mean it’s *not* China.

Think.
