Al-Jazeera are a NEWS network, much like CNN and Fox. As such, they were – oh, I don’t know – REPORTING ON THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION CAMPAIGN!

A news network from Qatar (it’s in the Middle-East, for those of you unable to read a map) showing interest in an election process taking place in a country that’s engaged in two wars in nearby countries – who wouldda thunk it?!? And it wouldn’t surprise me if Al-Jazeera covered the Democratic Convention with less political bias than any of the American networks.

Al-Jazeera runs a few Osama Bin Laden videos, and all you can think of is that they’re all terrorists…

The problem for the GOP in regards to Hurricane Katrina was how long it took them to respond to the disaster. What happened in the wake of Katrina would have been expected in an impoverished third-world country. But since we’re talking about the United States when it was still relatively prosperous, I think the GOP should collectively hang their heads in shame.

You mean the ones who have been their on their third, fourth and even fifth tours, while the rest of America is kept “Safe” by big daddy Bush. That is the Military that is seeing career Captains/Lieutenants and career NCO’s leaving in droves because of the OPTEMPO that has only the Military and their families bearing the cost of this war because while President Bush and Vice President felt no qualms about committing the military, they didn’t have the political courage to actually grow the military to the point at which it can truely handle two major regional conflicts. Is that what you are asking?

He said ‘Blow’em up!’ – that’s actually an imperative sentence, which could be bad for him, if someone felt so much as to obey (or blame) him.

Although, this is the Internet (capital ‘I’, indeed) however, and though this specific example is ludicrous, if it was said on a major television network or perhaps on a radio show or something, and was then blamed, you can be sure responsibility would be divvied out (despite how ridiculous it might be).

Should Al Jazeera not be interested in the person who will direct American military actions in Iraq or Afghanistan? The person who will deal with Iran, Saudi, Egypt, Israel? Did that news organization not cover the publican convention in 2004? Did they not carry President Bush’s speech live? Are they, in fact, not going to cover the publican convention this year? He has actually spoken highly of McCains military service. If you’re running a mudslinging campaign, you don’t compliment the other candidate. True, he did say that McCain’s time as a POW doesn’t qualify him to be president. You know what? It doesn’t. Apparently the major news network in the Arab world is interested in who might become the President of the USA… after seven years of direct combat action by American soldiers in two countries within SWA, not to mention American military forces deployed elsewhere within their sphere of interest and in-depth US involvement diplomatically, economically and many other ways, do you really wonder why? Oh, by the way, they covered the 2004 publican convention, including live coverage of President Bush’s acceptance speech, and I would imagine they will do the same this time around.
