while universal health care in canada is not perfect, and is lacking in many respects, it is still better than nothing.

one of those people and would be dead right now so yeah, i will take a shitty system over nothing at all any day. the problem is not universal health care, it’s the governments management of it.

Universal health care isn’t all that you think it is. I have it here and franky, I find it lacking in a lot of areas.
Unfortunately, it comes down to ” Do you want your Healthcare system run by an uncaring idiotic government, or by greedy MBA’s who don’t care if you live or die, just do it cheaply”.
Doesn’t leave much room for movement, does it? I’ve been at both end of the spectrum and I’ll take health care that I pay for anyday. When I want or need to see a doctor I know that I’m not going to be put off for months (at least in my experience.)
