  1. Jon says:

    Quick someone call this racist.

  2. effyou says:

There is nothing racist about this, everyone else in that picture is blacker than Obama is.

  3. hueydoc says:

    From FroBama to NoBama…

  4. brinnann says:

Srsly? Srsly. How can you think this is racist? He’s sportin’ a ‘fro; you can’t deny that (though I will admit it’s not a very impressive one). ‘Fro + Obama = FrObama. No racism, just an observation of a particular hairstyle.

    • Ceefax says:

*sigh* Noone’s called this racist. This happens all the time people going “Someone will call this racist” “I can’t believe people think this is racist” “OMG, people think everything’s racist!” when no-one’s actually said anything of the sort.

  5. imitation tofu says:

    Hawt.

  6. kthnxbai says:

he’s workin that fro and that plaid shirt!

    Damn… I love old pictures…

  7. Marshy says:

I don’t care what other people think. I say Obama looks great in that afro.

  8. ema says:

what he really needs though are votes left and right… oh well! he looks good.

    • n8 says:

He’ll get them. He’s got cross-party appeal, and the opposition has nothing going for him except being a white guy. (oh noes, reverse racism!)

      • Evil Pundit says:

Obama has nothing going for him except being a black guy. And he can’t even get the votes of all the Democrats, because the Hillary supporters are upset about the way she shafted him.

        • Jon says:

Yeah, hate to say it, with his poor VP choice in Biden. . .he has all ready lost the election.

          • n8 says:

I doubt that. Biden brings a lot to the table. It pisses off the Hillary folk, but they were already hard-wired to the pissed-off position, so that’s no loss.

            • Jane St.Clair says:

Not true, I was a Hillary supporter and I’m not angry at all.

              • Evil Pundit says:

You might not be, but here’s a quote from the latest CNN poll:

“Sixty-six percent of Clinton supporters — registered Democrats who want Clinton as the nominee — are now backing Obama. That’s down from 75 percent in the end of June. Twenty-seven percent of them now say they’ll support McCain, up from 16 percent in late June.”

                • hlyshtvwls says:

Those twenty-seven percent apparently hate women’s rights, which Clinton and Obama BOTH stand for, and McCain stands against.

                  • TheLarrikin says:

Because 100% of Clinton supporters are women…

People believe what they want to believe – it’s the parties that try to say what you *should* believe. McCain doesn’t stand *against* women’s rights, though he might not be *as* ‘for’ them as the alternatives. It’s rarely, if ever, only for *or* against, and people who believe thusly are a big reason for the breakdown in interpartisan communication in America.

                  • Evil Pundit says:

Obama stood against women’s rights by running a sexist campaignn against Hillary Clinton. That’s what her supporters are upset about.

McCain stands for women’s rights by supporting human rights — notably the right to life and the right to free speech, both of which Obama opposes.

                    • dude im on it says:

Ah, yes, I remember the long chin stroke, the look of anguish, and the inability to say anything on the subject because he didn’t know enough… so did he come out and oppose it or just continued to ignore the birth control issue?

                    • Ron Pork says:

That’s right and McCain likes children, whereas Obama eats them. And Obama likes to kick puppies! McCain is all about rights, where as Obama wants to bring back slavery!

Funny to hear about free speech and human rights from a Bush supporter.

                    • Evil Pundit says:

At least McCain doesn’t think the issue is ‘above his pay grade’.

                    • ema says:

Obama can’t even think about it until he gets a raise. Lol!!

                    • Jane St.Clair says:

It’s nice to be flippant but for some of us who are on birth control for medical reasons it’s not so funny to hear a presidential candidate say that he doesn’t believe insurance should cover it. Anyone who supported Hillary should know full well that John McCain is about as far from her political beliefs as you can get, to support him because she lost is pure spite and I though we ladies were better than that.

                    • Evil Pundit says:

                      Nevertheless, many do, because:

                      (1) Obama is arrogant and would be a terrible president

                      (2) Obama’s negatives are huge and he may lose the election

                      (3) Obama won the primaries by using fraud and slander

                      (4) They hope to have Hillary as president in 2012

                    • Charlie Foxtrot says:

It is interesting that men, who are too old to responsibly bring children into the world because they will most likely die befor the child is an adult can get their Viagra paid for by insurance, yet women of regular child bearing years are denied the right to manage their bodies as they see fit. Looks like a little male domination in my book.

                    • Evil Pundit says:

What about the babies in the womb? They are denied the right to manage their lives as they see fit.

                    • Charlie Foxtrot says:

When are they babes? Can you prove it? And isn’t it God’s perogative to sort it out?

                    • Jane St.Clair says:

If you are on birth control there ARE no babies in the womb. Many women are on birth control for reasons that have nothing to do with getting or not getting pregnant. Saying that birth control shouldn’t be covered by your health insurance means women will now have to pay that out of their own pockets, this is blatently sexist.

                    • Evil Pundit says:

That question is above my pay grade, CF.

                    • jellybeans says:

I just love how he wants to withhold the tools women need to avoid even the possibility of an abortion being considered.
You don’t want kids having abortions? TEACH them how to avoid it. He voted against any kind of rules on abstinence education. “Let’s not make it scientific, let’s just tell the kids they will burn in hell for doing what is on TV … that should solve the problem!”
If you want people to stop doing something (like abortion) give them a better option (like birth control)
No woman wants to kill babies. Sometimes they feel trapped by circumstances and don’t think they have options. God forbid your tax dollars help them after you force them to have that baby though right?

                    • Somebody says:

New gov’t plan: Leave no child a dime.

                  • Snark says:

Calling it ‘women’s rights’ makes it sound much less debatable than ‘abortion’.

            • Evil Pundit says:

Biden brings some actual experience and credibility to the team.

Which just underscores Obama’s lack of same.

              • Charlie Foxtrot says:

                And your point is?

                • Evil Pundit says:

My point is that Obama has insufficient experience and credibility to be a president. His running mate is better qualified than he is himself.

                  • Charlie Foxtrot says:

With respect, answer me this question. Did you vote for George Bush in 2000?

                    • Evil Pundit says:

No, though I would have if I was eligible to vote.

George Bush already had experience as a state governor, among other things.

                      • Charlie Foxtrot says:

Just curious. What gives someone the experience to be President? Who knows, I do recall VP Cheney being picked because he would “shore up” President Bush’s inexperience. What did their experience give them? Who knows, but whether you agree or disagree with this administration’s policies post- september 11th, you must admit that they made some critical mistakes in the actual execution of their decisions. While a Presidential candidate’s experience should be considered, when it comes right down to it, only being Presisent can give someone experience at being President, even then, it still might not work.

                      • Jane St.Clair says:

                        *passes out the burn cream*

                      • TheLarrikin says:

He didn’t say experience *at being* president. He said experience *to be* president.

Of course the only way to have experience at doing something is to have done something, but that doesn’t mean that a fighter pilot cannot have the experience to be an astronaut. *loses faith in humanity*

                      • Evil Pundit says:

So as far as experience goes, Obama has the same flaws as Bush?

                      • Ron Pork says:

                        ^ = troll?

                      • Jane St.Clair says:

*just realized EP is younger than she is*

                        *is horrified*

                      • PortlandMark says:

Lol! Experience at being a Governor in a state where the Gov’s only job is to preside over a state legislature meets once every two years! That explains his constant vacations…

                      • Evil Pundit says:

That’s still more than Obama-lama-ding-dong ever did.

                    • Charlie Foxtrot says:

No, Obama has life experience, Bush just lived with a silver spoon in his hand.

                      • Evil Pundit says:

“Life experience”? Going to a private school, then a rich man’s university, and then straight into the corrupt Chicago political machine?

That isn’t life experience. That’s Affirmative Action.

                      • Charlie Foxtrot says:

Which publican are you currently talking about now?

                      • Evil Pundit says:

That’s Obama’s life experience. He never had to make any effort, he was lifted along all the way.

He’s never even fought an election before. All of Obama’s previous contests had his opponent removed by legal machinations before voting day.

Barack is an empty suit, and it shows.

                      • jellybeans says:

No black man could get into Harvard on merit huh EP?
Like Bush got into Yale based on his grades?

          • bitter troll says:

            clearly he lost that election

        • hlyshtvwls says:

Yeah, all that intelligence and goodwill means nothing. The man’s clearly running on melanin. Why not just put Jesse Jackson up there? *eyeroll*

          • Evil Pundit says:

Considering that Obama spent 20 years soaking up racism in Jeremiah Wright’s church, he might as well be Jesse Jackson. I doubt he has any goodwill toweard the people who Wright blames for “creating AIDS to wipe out blacks”.

            • fjaradvax says:

Is there any evidence that Mr Obama agreed / agrees with those sentiments?

              • Evil Pundit says:

There is the fact that Obama regards Wright as his mentor, and took the title of his book, ‘The Audacity of hope’, from one of the preacher’s speeches. And the fact that Obama was married by the man, attended his church for 20 years with his family, and donated $20,000 to it.

Seems a pretty close relationship for someone who rejects a philosophy. He could have gone to one of the many other churches in the area if he’d disagreed.

      • Czernobog says:

I rather like Obama, but how can you guys think he’ll win? You had a relatively solid candidate in Kerry, and he lost to the goddamn shrub. What’s changed since then? Did some of you move out of New York and California into the swing-states?

        • Lamer says:

          Kerry? Solid candidate? Riiiiiiight.

        • jellybeans says:

Kerry’s mistake was in NOT countering the smear campaigns early enough. He tried to take the high road and it backfired. Obama is refuting the lies that McCain’s campaign is spreading. Hopefully he will stop complimenting his opponent and start laying down some of the negative FACTS about McCain to help counter the lies against Obama

          • TheLarrikin says:

It’s not facts against one person because you’re against them and then lies against someone because your for them. Generally, historical documentation is key – and there is historical documentation on both sides of the line. Bad things will be dug up about any presidential candidate, and a lot of bad things will be true, considering presidential candidates will have a political background. So, if you don’t want your reputation smeared on a national level, don’t run for president. Easy as that.

            • jellybeans says:

Actually there is some pretty extensive documentation that McCain ads are running lies. The tax ads are particularly full of them.

              • Evil Pundit says:

So, these “lies” — are they the words of Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden in McCain’s ads? Because you’re calling your own team liars.

                • jellybeans says:

Nope, those are comments they made.
The lies are that Obama is going to raise taxes on families making more than 42,000 a year.
He is going to raise taxes on SINGLE people making more than 42,000 a year ADJUSTED Now factor in the deductibles and all that good stuff and that is like 75k a year pre tax. The tax increase on this $75,000 a year SINGLE person would go up about $15 a year. If you start taking in head of household and child credits a single mother would have to make over 90k before her taxes saw any increase at all. A family of 4 would have to make over $250k a year before any increase in taxes.
McCain’s ad’s show distressed families worrying over taxes, single mothers clutching children worrying over tax increases of under $100 a year when they are banking close to 6 figures? Get real.
There are some blatant lies in these ads too, not just pictures. One spanish language ad actually said working families making over $32,000 a year would pay higher taxes.
Obama wants the rich people to pay higher taxes, not the middle class. McCain wants us all to pay higher taxes so he can give another 4billion in tax relief to companies that ship jobs over seas.
What kind of scum bag does that?

Speaking of nostalgia … click my name for a picture of Barry’s friends from the 60s.

    • n8 says:

Eh, at least he never sold out his friends to the VC.

      • Evil Pundit says:

You can lie all you like about McCain — but the truth about Obama’s friends remains.

        Link under my name.

        • n8 says:

Hey, just because you’re lying about Obama doesn’t mean I’m lying about McCain. But I’ll extend the same “courtesy”… feel free to continue your transparent campaign of lies against Obama.

          • hobo sapiens says:

            heh…. Obamabots will say anything.

            • n8 says:

Wow, that’s a whole new level of “got nothing.”

              • Jane St.Clair says:

“I’m rubber, you’re glue. Whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you!”

                • n8 says:

About the level of discourse I’d expect from conservatives. Carry on…

                  • Evil Pundit says:

Everything you’ve said about McCain has been a lie. The points I’ve raised about Obama are documented and true.

That’s the difference in our discourse.

                    • n8 says:

I love that zealot’s certainty you display. Don’t ever change that.

I love the way you simply ignore the facts.

                        • n8 says:

So you have a monopoly on truth? Interesting. Do go on.

                        • Evil Pundit says:

I don’t have a monopoly on truth, no. But I am telling the truth about Obama, and this is easily verified. Obama worked closely with Bill Ayers, who is an unrepentant terrorist. This is simple fact.

Whereas your claim that “McCain sold out his friends to the VC” is just a lie.

                        • n8 says:

Your article is nothing but more froth from pajamas media, Michelle Malkin’s merry band of lunatics. I wouldn’t trust them to tell me the correct time, much less present an unbiased POV on an opposition politician.

As for the “war hero” McCain, I’ll direct you here:
                          http://www.vietnamveteransagainstjohnmccain.com/cin_mccain_lost_five_u.htm

                        • Evil Pundit says:

Oh wow, McCain told them his ship’s name. Big freaking deal.

But Obama is closely allied with an unrepentant terrorist. Obama’s friendd and business associate, Bill Ayers, bombed the Pentagon. In 2001, Ayers said he had no regrets, and wished he had committed more terrorist acts.

That’s the kind of person Obama works with. Jeremiah Wright the racist, Tony Rezko the crook, Bill Ayers the terrorist. All closely tied to Obama over decades.

These are proven facts. You can google all the names and find the truth.

                        • n8 says:

Ayers is a snore, the Rezko thing is murky at best, and
Wright is old news. I’m not at all convinced on the first two,
and I’m certainly not going to change my opinion of Obama
based on Wright’s views. (Which aren’t all that severe, for
all the fuss your side and the Hillarites spewed over it.)

Wright basically claimed that the USA had done un-Christian things and deserved to take some heat for it. He’s also of the opinion that black people are still subject to racism, and he’s pissed about it enough to respond in kind. Fair enough, accountability and all that, and he’s entitled to his view. It sure beats the pollyanna view that we’re always right and can do no wrong. And did I mention, it’s old news.

If that’s all you’ve got, prepare for Obama to administer a
severe beatdown on your boy Johnny this November.

                        • Evil Pundit says:

Of course a fanatical leftist like you won’t be concerned by all the radical extremists in Obama’s orbit.

But I think most Americans will be worried as they learn more.

                        • n8 says:

Assessment fail. I’m an independent; I vote for the party and candidate I feel are best qualified on a per-election basis. The Republicans have failed me and sold out the country; they’ve forfeited my vote, at least for this contest. More than that, Obama is charismatic, young, and has good ideas. His opponent has none of these qualities, and thinks the current administration has the right idea. Sorry, but no. Not this go-round, check back in four years.

                        • Evil Pundit says:

Ah yes, the old pretend-to-be-independent trick.

It only works when you don’t singlemindedly support one side.

                        • n8 says:

Think what you like. (As if anyone could stop you.)

Obama just put out an ad trying to defend his relationship with the terrorist Bill Ayers.

Can you smell the panic yet?

                        • lowly grunt says:

                          Isn’t unrepentant terrorist a redundancy?
The only panic is smell is coming from you, bot.

                        • Evil Pundit says:

No, because a etrrorist can repent by admitting that he was wrong, apologising and trying to make up for his crimes. Ayers is unrepentant, since he has said he has no regrets and wished he’d planted more bombs.

As for panic, Obama is trying to use legal means to shut down an ad that explains the truth about Ayers. He’s running scared. Click my name for details.

OK, I have had enough… not that it will make any difference, but I will at least throw in my two cents worth. First and foremost… I will not sit back and second guess any american service member who has been a POW unless I am placed on a board that is specifically designed to look at the events surrounding that service member’s status as a POW. ANYONE who thinks that they can question a former POW without access to all information is WRONG. Second, knock off the bullshit about how Barak Obama is or supports terrorists. HE IS NOT and HE DOES NOT. You want to get shitty, I guarrentee I can connect ANY american Preisident to Terrorism using select “facts”. GET REAL people, this is not a game… if you oppose a candidate, do so with some level of maturity and reality. I may be a pain in the ass, but as a career soldier turned teacher I can’t help myself…It is a perfect fit, because I do teach 14-15 year olds.

But… but… why isn’t Fox News airing the attacking ads?!? I thought they were Yay Republicans, Die Democrats… I can’t believe I was wrong this one time… *sigh*

                        • Evil Pundit says:

Obama may not be a terrorist, but he has worked together closely with a terrorist. He made his bed and he’ll have to lie in it.

Also disturbing is the fact that Obama is trying to shut down the free speech of the group that’s pointing this out. Obama has no respect for human rightts.

                        • fjaradvax says:

Deeming anyone who’s ever “worked closely with a terrorist” unfit for office seems like a rather serious FAIL in the get-them-talking-rather-than-bombing department, doesn’t it? You could write off more or less every member of both English and Irish Parliaments at that rate.

                        • fjaradvax says:

                          Hyperbole, OK!?

                        • fjaradvax says:

Less hyperbolically: refusing office to anyone who’d worked closely with a terrorist would drastically reduce the terrorism-abatement capacity of both Parliaments.

Dealing with terrorists, try President, “He is the new right hand of God” Reagan (Iran-Contra, Saddam, Comandante Cero, just to name a few) and George HW Bush (Saddam until he didn’t do as he was told, Noriega, until he didn’t do as he was told).

                        • Evil Pundit says:

Consider Bernadine Dohrn, Ayers’ wife and the co-host of Obama’s career-launching fundraiser. When she was in the Weather Underground she was one of those members typically fascinated with Charles Manson (I discuss this briefly in my book). Speaking of Manson’s famous murders she exclaimed, “Dig It! First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, they even shoved a fork into a victim’s stomach! Wild!” In appreciation, her Weather Underground cell made a threefingered “fork” gesture its official salute.

Ah, nuts. I was enjoying the Funny Pundit – bot until he agreed that Obama wasn’t a terrorist. I like him better when he runs his absolutes program – the justuposition with reality is hilarious!

I’m an independent. I’m voting for Obama beacause I think 4 more years of a republican president will probably lead us to WWIII, not to mention the population of the US being further stripped of its rights.

Also would like to note: Obama wouldn’t have even been a candidate if he was as horrible as he’s made out to be by certain blind right-wing folks….

                          *cough*

I’m sure dagerotypes of McCain from when he was a young man look just as silly as this snapshot of Obama.

    • Wolvie says:

No he just looks like your typical white person.

      • hamjudo says:

McCain probably had a typical white teenager hairstyle in 1957, which probably looks just as silly today as Obama’s typical black teenager hairstyle from 1981.
My brother-in-law had a large fro in 1972 which was in a different league from these guys. He had red hair and freckles, so he had the Ronald McDonald look.
Every adult was once a teenager. Teenagers following current fashions look silly, teenagers from decades ago look far sillier, because of the double whammy of looking like a teenager, and doing it in the fashion of decades ago.
I’m voting based on the men they are today. I choose the well spoken, computer literate, professor of constitutional law.
