I don’t know who was the last President or candidate to write their own speeches — it’s been a long time. The only speech I am aware of that Obama wrote himself during the campaign (other than off-the-cuff riffs) was the only one he gave about race.

The pipeline of which you speak — the one that probably never will happen because TransCanada doesn’t have the financial wherewithal or political desire now to do it?

Really, I don’t often see someone who obviously and completely has abdicated themselves from critical or independent thought like this…you must be one of those that minerva talks about, who only knows what conservative pundits tell you to know. *shrug* I can only assume this is an example of Poe’s Law…

People from other countries than the US in a lot of cases feel it is there duty to put down any US citizen when they can. We do not put down you for driving tiny cars. They really do not sell them in the US, probably because we have more room to drive around compared to small countries?

All I was originally intending to say is that I cannot really believe that people would actually vote for a person for one of the highest offices in your country based on one fierey speech telling a bunch of die-hard fanatics exactly what they wanted to hear.

And as for my lack of knowledge: do you think everybody who browses this site is from the US of A? I very much doubt you could name, say, the most powerful politician in Bavaria (hint: it’s not the pope), let alone every bloody European country. Sorry for not having heard about the Govenor of Alaska before, but local politics don’t exactly make international news.

He would appear to be the guru of Cut & Paste. A read of this article shows that the Tax Policy Center found that McCain’s program would increase the average taxpayer’s after-tax income by 2%, while Obama’s would raise it by 0.3%.

Hmm . . . he has done drugs, been a “community organizer” (we all know what that means), funneled $14 million to a slumlord, got a sweetheart deal on a parcel of land from the aforementioned slumlord, who was later convicted, going to church so he could listen to black revolutionists, hanging around with a convicted terrorist, and . . . making speeches.
