Umm, unfortunately for the stupid, idiotic democrats, Sarah Palin is NOT running for president, John McCain is, and at least he knows how to run SOMETHING other than a “Community” which is all Obama has ever and will ever run. And BTW everyone, Obama is playing the race card being all like, “If you don’t vote for me, that means you are racist”, but how about this, if you don’t vote for John McCain and SARAH PALIN, then you are sexist. and you can reproduce and still be racist, but you can’t reproduce if you are sexist….. Wendy – haha that’s a matter of opinion – most of the things you have read and what was last posted here are left-wing blogs with opinion pieces and not actual fact. I never defended her environmental stance so if something is on the AP about that, that is fine and it’s a valid thing to look at about her, I mainly object to the stupid rumors like she wanted to make rape victims responsible for rape kit charges or she is for abstinence only sexed, or she wants to take away all birth control even from married people, or she was not pregnant, or she wanted to ban books – all those are stupid rumors spread by hate filled nasty left-wing blogs and have been debunked.

I’d say it’s more to the point to say it attracts an audience that likes crude humor. On this site I am identified as a liberal because it is a political sites and that is where my ideas and beliefs lie. However, being liberal is only one part of many that makes me who I am. I don’t walk through life asking myself what would a liberal do. I live my life and make choices based on myself as a person and THEN when it comes to politics I say I believe in more liberal ideas than conservative ones. What I’m saying is that politics and our leanings do not necessarily permeate our entire lives. The only slant a business has is one that will enable them to make the most money possible. Sex and, in the current climate of our country, politics sells and because Palin is new and interesting I think it is completely fair to say the only slant on that shirt is to make money.

Just to comment on one part of your post, heebyjeeby…
I do not agree with Palin on the aerial hunting. It seems akin to shooting baby deer in my book. However, I was discussing it with my boss yesterday and he did bring up a good point. If you are a good enough shot to hit a moving target from a moving target, then more power to you! It’s a heck of a lot harder to hit a wolf running full out on the tundra than it is to hit a deer from the confines of a stationary stand.
As far as her other stands on the issues, she’s too much of a Reagan Republican for me NOT to like. Just because she and I (and McCain and I) don’t see eye to eye on every single issue doesn’t mean I won’t vote for them. I disagree with Obama and Biden on pretty much everything (with a few exceptions), so it stands to reason I won’t be voting for them. Personal lives and friendships aside, on the issues, I will be voting Republican.

I still say that it would attract a liberal audience more than a conservative audience and I as a conservative would tend not to buy anything they have to sell because that one is so offensive to me. They may get website hits from both sides. Even if it was created by a conservative, which I doubt, it is certainly directed towards liberal tshirt wearers.

I honestly can’t wait for the debates. Anyone can read a speech from a teleprompter. It takes an actual stance on issues and a deep-seated set of beliefs to be able to answer a question without stuttering over the answer, or going off on an unrelated rant if the teleprompter fails. If you don’t have to overthink the answer to make sure you’re either not contradicting yourself or making the American public mad, then you have a more concise and to the point answer.
Honestly, I’m speaking about both sides here. I truly want to hear Barak and Joe defend themselves, the same way I want John and Sarah to. If they get the exact same questions to answer, I believe we will get closer to the actual truth. Just make sure you ask McCain one, let Obama answer, then ask Obama the next question first to even out the debates and not allow the advantage of hearing the other person answer first every time.

D’oh – it’s because he/she says things like this: “She’s a small-minded, small-town hick who couldn’t have gotten elected as governor anywhere outside of a backwoods red state. ” That causes me to close my mind off to anything else he/she may have to say. I may say similar things from time to time about Obama but I try not to and when called on it I will try to do better. Heeby won’t even admit to a tiny amount of slant.
Toast – It’s not a given that Wasilla was the only town in Alaska to follow this policy (which was in place before Palin was elected so she obviously did not sponsor it or create it) and it is not a given she was aware of it. Here is a direct quote from her campaign spokeswoman Maria Comella : ‘”[Palin] does not believe, nor has she ever believed, that rape victims should have to pay for an evidence-gathering test,” Comella said. “Gov. Palin’s position could not be more clear. To suggest otherwise is a deliberate misrepresentation of her commitment to supporting victims and bringing violent criminals to justice.”‘ So, likewise for Obama, we can believe her at her word, or not.

How can you say it’s “all opinion” if you haven’t given him the chance to give his sources? You seem to close yourself off from what he says about Palin very fast, is that just because he says things you don’t like?
But about that pro-profit. That’s 1 thing, it’s worse when “pro-profit” would mean “profit above everything else”. Ofcourse I don’t know for sure if that’s the case, but the only thing I want to say is that you have to look very skeptical to titles like that. They often portrait things better then they actually are.
