  1. XCX says:

Since when is point up with your index finger a bad thing? Oh wait, I forgot, this is a slam on a conservative family, you don’t actually have to have a reason for these do you?

    • Keith says:

You need to count fingers again

      • Captain Obvious says:

no you need to count fingers again there’s 3 down, then 1 up, so unless Piper has six fingers that’s her index finger.

        • DeathWyrmNexus says:

Um, no, that is two fingers before that current finger with the pinkie facing us so that is the middle finger. Also her facial expression helps interpret too. Counting… It is your friend.

          • danielle says:

Yeah… and so is common sense… which would tell us that, considering the size of a 6-year-old’s hand, there is no way that there are only two knuckles before the finger that is sticking up. Her hands would have to be proportionally huge compared to the rest of her body!

            • DeathWyrmNexus says:

No it wouldn’t. You can clearly the see the knuckles and that is only two fingers before the raised finger. Also, that isn’t a huge hand so I really don’t see where you are magically coming up with an extra finger.

              • Shut up and listen to me! says:

                you can’t clearly see anything!!!
                you are being sooo stupid!
there is no way to see it clearly so you don’t have any way of knowing!
im not for anyone or against anyone but all im saying is you need to f*cking shut up about it because no one really knows for sure!!!
                mkay???

        • Mac'n'Tosh says:

She has six fingers? I’m not surprised, inbreeding will do that.

          • Rorsc says:

Attacking children again ? Gonna spit on some chemo patients later? How about an LOL making fun of Biden’s dead mother in law ?

            • Mac'n'Tosh says:

Ooh, struck a nerve, did I? Oh, the children, think of the children!!! Why won’t anyone think of the children!!! The last refuge of the mentally null…

              • Scott says:

                Yep, a child’s nerve. Sicko.

                • Mac'n'Tosh says:

Ooh, two nerves! Yet again with boo-hoo, the children!! Just quit with the phony outrage, morons. No child was injured here, it’s just more rightwingnuts trying to blow smoke over the fact that Wrinkly and Winky aren’t fit to run a game of Monopoly, let alone a country. No one believes you give a damn about children.

                  • NObama says:

Then why don’t we see any LOLs of Obama’s brats ? Too delicate? Hypocrisy?

                    • Mac'n'Tosh says:

Nope, it’s because Republicans can’t make things *intentionally* funny enough to get on here. They do excel at the inintentional, however.

If McCain, Palin or their supporters thought it would give them the election, they would be serving babies on toast, and not just on paper. Your ‘outrage’ over children is a political ploy, nothing more.

                      • Mark says:

                        “inintentional”?

And people think Bush is an idiot, jeez.

                        • chrissy says:

‘i’ is next to ‘u’ on a standard qwerty keyboard, therefore ‘inintentional’ is clearly a typo and not a spelling fail. calm down and don’t try to jump on any mistake you see as everyone is entitled to make some mistakes

                    • i_tego_arcana_dei says:

I haven’t seen Obama parade his kids around the way Palin does. I’m an equal opportunity insultor, if we has some decent Obama kid gaffs I’d be all over it, but he seems to actually like his family’s privacy and doesn’t seem to want to exploit it to prove a pointless “point” with the media the way Palin is….

        • midnightmoon0290 says:

          WHO CARES?

      • Capt Obvious says:

XCX is a conservative. They use their own number system, not the mathematical one. The fundamentals of her fingers are entirely appropriate.

    • CC says:

Well, Democrats are not saints by any stretch of the imagination either. And I’m sure your very own little spawn have done the same — theirs just didn’t get caught on film.

    • Wammathorius says:

Its a joke. Chill out. Jesus Christ.

    • MLD says:

I don’t especially like Sarah, but that’s the kid’s pointer finger. I thought it was middle til I saw the debate, counted the folded fingers. but, my opinion means about as much as the american dollar does *shrugs*

    • Billyb8 says:

You need to check your fingers. The centre one is not the index. Unless you have more than five digits!

  2. HollyAK47 says:

    Real?
    I can’t tell.
But it’s always funny to see a little kid flipping the bird.

  3. Siava says:

I just love her facial expression. What the heck is she so mad about?!

    • Captain Weiner says:

probly her mom saying nukyalur instead o’ nuclear.

    • Tom Trifik says:

Having a 6 yr old girl, I can guess that the lil’ boy probably just told Piper Palin that WebKinz are stupid and his dinosaur can kick her WebKinz ass.

Also, as Piper does, my daughter has a much older sister, who teaches all kinds of wonderful thing to the little one. So, yes Piper is most likely flipping him the bird. Also, like my child, she probably got her ass whipped later.

  4. rosekathleen says:

Sorry, but that looks like a pointer finger to me. I think Palin is a hypocrite and a joke, but…sorry. Pointer finger.

    • Pirate77 says:

      And Obama is not? Puh-leeze.

      • Tom Trifik says:

Obama = Media Manufactured and Groomed Pretender who, although he
“Stands for Change,” will totally screw our country due to his inability to see beyond the teleprompter and think beyond his handler’s prodding.

        • Captain Weiner says:

          You’re confusing Obama with Dubya.

          • Lolnathan says:

Easy to get confused, the only way they are different are their policy preferences.

            • stablercake says:

And values. And drive to help the country.

              …and he’s black.

              • Rorsc says:

Therefore it’s okay to show phoney images in order to help his political run.

                • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

If you’re swayed by photos and comments on Pundit Kitchen… then please,
for the love of all that is sacred to established religion, do some research and find some REAL answers, facts, and viewpoints.
Not to discredit any of these lovely folks that I love here on PK, but can we all agree we take ourselves a little too seriously?

                  • bittervoter says:

Thank you for that. I think, or at least hope, that no one made this lol to “help obama”. I doubt most swing voters are people who regularly visit punditkitchen and make political desicions based on the lols and the crazy debates we get into here.
For my part, even before reading some of what was written here, I wasn’t convinced that she was flipping that other kid the bird, could well be her index finger. Still, it amused me none-the-less. I find the mother insufferable, but that lttle girl’s got some spunk.
Might I just add “what on earth is Sarah Palin wearing?”. ;) I hesitate to say anything about that and risk being accused of all kinds of crazy things, but really lady, not your best wardrobe choice. Fashion fail.

        • Capt Obvious says:

          /yawn

          • LETS SEE:

OBAMA: We get 4 years of Liberal / Socialist Policies that will invariably Raise Personal Income Taxes, Higher Taxes on Gas and Energy, more Distribution of Wealth Style Social Programs, more United Nations involvement in U.S. affairs, more Terrorism around the world. You want CHANGE? You’ll have it — about 73 cents in your pocket.

McCain: We get 4 years of Centrist Republican Idealism sprinkled with Democratic “reaching across the aisle” Ideas. At least some Income Tax reductions, Tax Credits for Energy Usage Reductions, tightening of Social Welfare to include only the truly needy, and a tough stance against terrorism here and abroad. So has the last 8 years really hurt you? The last 2 maybe with the democratically controlled congress screwing with things. McCain is NOT Bush… nothing like him.

        • Destin says:

You’re right, but your McCain is just the same. I don’t know why you Republicrats can’t come to terms with the fact that you’re both pushing for (essentially) the same candidates running on different tickets. Quit the b*tching and enjoy the humor. K, thx, bee.

          • froofrou says:

I haven’t found a conservative who likes McCain. But apparently he’s the best we’re going to get and he’s ages better than Obama. And they’re not the same candidate, regardless of the fact that in the debates they were basically agreeing with each other………oh, wait, that was Obama agreeing with McCain :-)

            • wut says:

McCain’s campaign has spent so much time smearing and lying about Obama, imagine what McCain supporters would do if McCain agreed with him. Some would see it as McCain agreeing with a terrorist, zomg!!!11!!!

              • jellybeans says:

                TERRORIST!!! KILL HIM!!!!
                .
                .
                .
Sorry, thought I was at a Palin rally for a minute.

                • Lolnathan says:

Watch out, its B*mumble* HUSSEIN OSAMA!!! :P

                  • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

I had a co-worker at work today voice that exact mindset “A president,
named Hussein… Hmmmm… Hussein.” Is what he said with a condescending
grin on his face. His name is Charles.
On his way out the door I told him not to kill any pregnant women and write
disparaging messages about the police with her blood on the walls of her home.
He seemed rather upset that I would simply associate him with someone
awful just on name value. I was quite amused with the double standard.

            • stablercake says:

Obama agreed with McCain on only parts of select issues. This not only put Obama in a light that he was trying to “reach over the aisle” but it also showed that Obama isn’t just a pigheaded douch trying to one-up his opponent to get votes.

            • DeathWyrmNexus says:

So essentially you are saying that you cannot agree with your opponent on anything now? Very well, I state that the sky is blue, Earth is round, and sex feels awesome. If you agree with me, I win.

              • froofrou says:

You’re projecting :-) (P.S. I totally agree with you, hehe). The debates irritated me because both candidates were doing their best to agree with the other one. If you’re in a debate the point is to show how you’re different, not how you’re the same. Otherwise, what’s the point of voting for either one?

                • DeathWyrmNexus says:

Eh, but if you are both night and day, then you aren’t being a good president since a president SHOULD work both sides to get things done. It isn’t bad to acknowledge when your opponent has a point. You just need to be able to know where he is wrong on that point.

And for no reason… In bed.

              • m says:

right here now, the sky is black and the Earth is an oblate spheroid.
your opponent may be right, but be massively simplifying things to the point where he’s wrong because the details mean his plan won’t work..

            • Me says:

              I like McCain :P

  5. Naqamel says:

    That’s an index finger. FAIL.

  6. h says:

Piper is definitely flipping the bird:
    http://i35.tinypic.com/2czc1ua.jpg

    • steve says:

If you look closely you will see a black line on the outer edge of the middle finger. It is especially noticable since there is a flower from Sarahs coat placed behind it. However, on the other side, there is no black line surrounding the rest of the hand. In summation, you are wrong. If it isn’t on an official site like the gov.state.ak.us, you can assume that it was probably tampered with.

      • chrissy says:

As other people have previously stated the holding up of two fingers in a reverse victory sign is also a form of flipping the bird originating with the French threatening to cut the bow fingers of the British after securing victory and then the British brandishing the bow fingers in a reverse victory as an insult so essentially she is still flipping the bird like h said

  7. um says:

as much as I would like the rail this, I cant tell.

  8. Lolnathan says:

Can’t really tell if she’s actually flippin Dennis the Menace there the bird, but this lol is once again proof that no Palin critic on this site has ever raised a child. Well, I guess I shouldn’t say that. Many Palin critics, such as myself, actually stick to the facts rather than make hillarious assumptions about her family that only someone without one would make.

    • DeathWyrmNexus says:

Giving you my statement from above with less snark since you don’t warrant snark.

“that is two fingers before that current finger with the pinkie facing us so that is the middle finger.”

Pinkie then Ring then Middle. Her index finger and thumb are hidden.

      • Lolnathan says:

Yeah, looking closely it seems legit. Not like its hard to imagine a 6 year old girl flippin some stupid boy the bird. I was on the receiving end of a few at that age myself, and a few punches I think. Girls loved to beat on me.

        • DeathWyrmNexus says:

Mmm, I can imagine. I had a few rough encounters when I was a lad of that age too. In the boy’s defense, she just might be a jerk instead of him being stupid. Then again, I don’t trust little girls. At all. I helped raise my sister and knew her friends. Conniving little monsters and my fiancee’ wants one. X_X

    • rosekathleen says:

Wow, that’s making a big assumption. Sarah Palin is an embarassment–and I say that as a mother of three. My children give eachother the bird regularly. Among other things. But I’m not putting my family out there as a model of morality that we want to impose on the rest of the country.

    • Jane St.Clair says:

My brother once taught a kindergarten student on our bus that flipping the bird was the way all the older kids at our Catholic school said hi. This kid’s mom was plenty pissed when her son got home and waved “hello”. This story still makes me chuckle a little when I think about it. Kids are kids and they learn things from each other and NO parent can be there 24 hours a day to tackle potential rude gestures before they happens. Lighten up people.

      • Jane St.Clair says:

Oh, and I might add that I think this picture isn’t photoshopped and my reasoning for this opinion is that there is no point to photoshop because you can see the three fingers that are curled up next to the finger she is rasing. It’s her index finger, look again.

        • Lolnathan says:

Click my name for the original. Photoshopped!

          • lowly grunt says:

            So what?

I think this picture is precious because of that face alone.

          • Jane St.Clair says:

Well that’s just stupid, if you were going to photoshop a picture to make it look like she was flipping the bird (and honestly, who does that?) why wouldn’t you take out the index finger and leave the middle?

            • Rorsc says:

Because you follow Obama and therefore are an inbred idiot ?

              • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

You could have basically just said “I have nothing smart/relevant/fact-based/unbiased/witty/respectful to say, so Im going to resot
to insults based upon my own warped perception of people Ive never met.”

                • Maxwell Silverhammer says:

And Im going to |resort| to just making my posts even more broken and
fragmented by hitting enter as soon as the text hits the edge of the box.
Perhaps that way I’ll be able to catch my typos.

  9. lowly grunt says:

but this lol is once again proof that no Palin critic on this site has ever raised a child.

Glad you amended yourself, there, pardner. *wink*

The finger may be photoshopped but that face isn’t. What a maverick that Piper is! (truly! she seems like a ball of fire, that kid :-) )

    • DeathWyrmNexus says:

Ya, I can’t remember all the things my son has done so I don’t hold this instance against her. I am just having fun being a prick and pointing out that it is in fact her middle finger to those who don’t see it.

    • Obviously, she takes after her mother. :)

    • Lolnathan says:

I’m writing in Piper Palin for President! The REAL Maverick!

“Ahma..imma.umm..Iranian leader guy said my dress wasn’t cute :( Wheres the Joint Chiefs?”

    • jellybeans says:

The Maverick family (descendants of the original Maverick for whom the phrase was coined) are really pissed that McCain has taken the meaning of that word so out of context. Apparently to be known as a Maverick is to be a SCREAMING LIBERAL.
They have repeatedly asked the campaign to stop using their family name … go figure

  10. JaceVee says:

As Peter Griffin would say – “The bird is the word”
    Original Hi-res photo >>
    http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/piper_palin_flips_the_bird/

  11. She obviously saw someone wearing an Obama t-shirt. I have the same reaction whenever I see an idiot like that.

  12. cmw08 says:

$20 says there was a reporter off camera to the side giving her the finger first.

  13. Zidd says:

Photoshopped: http://www.gov.state.ak.us/large_photo.php?id=175 check it. She’s flashing the V sign.

    • herb says:

… which in Australia and (IIRC) British Commonwealths is the equivalent to the finger here.

Maybe Piper saw Yahoo Serious and decided to show him her thoughts, which was then translated for those not from Oz.

  14. YouKnowWhat says:

She actually threw up the shocker and they photoshopped it to the bird.

  15. QGFDSD says:

    Mmm I loooove Palin’s coat……not.

  16. American Hammer® says:

    AN ABSOLUTE FAKE STAGED PHOTO!!

    (it’s Tina Fey)

  17. American Hammer® says:

They even shot her from the right as to not show the scar.

  18. Tig says:

As a caucasian woman, I’d rather vote for a smart black man than a stupid white woman. She’s such an idiot. There is no way in hell I’m risking the old man dying in the next 4 years so that power hungry wench with the huge ego can take his place.

    • stablercake says:

I TOO WOULD RATHER BE SEXIST THAN RACIST D<

      (And I’m a lady~)

    • Yorchn says:

I’d pay anything to see you and Palin in a debate. Where you come to the conclusion that she is stupid (and Obama is smart*) is beyond me; except that I’m guessing that the one is a member of your party and the other isn’t.

*Note that I’m NOT saying that Obama isn’t intelligent, but honestly, the Bush campaign was able to make HIM look intelligent in ’99. Teleprompters and good lighting, folks.

      • Ryan N says:

If they can make Bush appear intelligent but fail with Palin, then I’m proud of her for learning how to speak (even with pronunciation mistakes) and tie her own shoelaces. That must have taken a lot of effort and patience with an IQ of about 7.

  19. toner says:

It was already confirmed to be fake, here’s a larger pic.

    gov.state.ak.us/photos/dscf1254.jpg

  20. American Hammer® says:

I have to call B*LLS*IT! on that ‘official’ gov. link to the ‘original’ photo. If you enlarge it enough you can clearly see the extra, supposed index finger was obviously added. I find it morally reprehensible that this would be Governor Palin’s tactic for dealing with this, in fact, I’d have rather seen her say “Well, impetuous child. Whaddaya gunna do?’ or something to that effect.

If this is any indication of the kind of leadership we can expect from the Governor, then my pro Obama stance is only further strengthened. This type of scramble-to-hide-and-cover tactic is just another standard issue when you’re in the upper echelon of the Grand Ol’ Party!

    • Lolnathan says:

      Lol what the hell

    • Yorchn says:

Yes. You’re absolutely right. Clearly, this is damning evidence of the moral turpitude of the entire Palin clan, and a reflection on the malevolence of Republicans in general.
It’s obvious that there’s been a massive GOP conspiracy to hide this embarrassingly ambiguous photo from the besieged people of this great nation, whose collective fate hangs in the balance between the righteous sexy wonderfulness that is the coming Obama Nation, and the evil mean nasty poopyheaded atrocity that would be a McCain administration.
Good for you, citizen, for uncovering this deception. Who knows how many people might have mistakenly voted Republican had they not been aware of this picture?

      /Not pro-McCain, just anti-partisan asshattery

  21. FREEDOM!!!! says:

dosn’t matter who wins the election, the shadowy puppet masters will ,ake them do the same things.

    DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. FREEDOM!!!! says:

make, sorry key dosn’t work well

  23. Balzon Y. says:

LOL Palen is stoopid! I can tell ‘cuz she’s a womin. Am I rite gaiz??

    Obama 08! He has testicles!

  24. Guinny says:

Photoshopped finger or not (also, whatever, she’s six, she’s allowed to go off-script), will nobody comment on the HORROR THAT IS SARAH PALIN’S COAT?!?!

I mean, what ARE those? Are they clouds? Flowers? Why is that coat adding 20 lbs that just aren’t there? These are important questions, people.

That’s it, I’m voting for Biden.

  25. Caed says:

Even before being ‘shopped, those two fingers up in that direction? Rude.

  26. Evil Pundit says:

Another fine example of liberals attacking Sarah Palin’s family.

Picking on a little girl. How classy.

  27. dropping in says:

May I just ask why no one is supposed to comment on her children, but she trots them out for PR all the time? I am not saying it it right- I would not do it and do not respect it, but the complaint sounds VERY shallow coming from the right given how she exploits her own children.

    • Robert says:

I’m pretty sure it’s her right to keep her family with her while she campaigns, actually. At least she hasn’t set the little ones up to do television interviews yet.

  28. Smegma says:

She’s flipping off the media trashing her mom and sister while leaving Obama’s family untouched.

  29. Miss A says:

She’s 6. I don’t care what business her family is in, she’s not that interested in politics. What she IS interested in is that little boy pissing her off. I think it’s absolutely adorable, especially with her pulling that angry face. It reminds me of when I was young and feisty. (And, I wish I could do that to a few of my co-workers. ;) ).

  30. tianashen says:

Am I the only one who wants to know what’s in the speaker’s hand that he’s hiding behind his back?

    • He stole some of the hearts of infants and is saving them for McCain’s luncheon the next day. He better be careful, those things spoil quickly… He really should get them on ice to prevent discoloration soon.

  31. Anonymous says:

The real joke is that if it were Obama’s daughter flipping the bird, everyone on this website would cream themselves and caption it with “EPIC WIN” or “BADASS.” Anything to continue kissing Obama’s holy shining ass.

    • angela says:

      Anonymous
If Obama’s daughter did that, the media would be in an UPROAR (especially Fox News, as usual). You’re kidding me right?

      • Anonymous says:

Dear me, was I commenting on the mainstream media’s reaction? So sorry, I thought I was observing the nauseating liberal slant of Pundit Kitchen’s fanbase. Apologies for the misunderstanding.

Would everyone stop the bickering already? It’s a mildly, no barely, funny caption. Doesn’t matter who it came from.

  33. MadamePsychology says:

It’s not her middle finger. Her hand blends into the white pattern of Palin’s dress.

Even if this is meant to be humorous, people really should leave the children out of this.

  34. Chewie42 says:

She is actually flipping off obama who is out of frame

  35. sarbez says:

yeah yeah…in the original she has 2 fingers up, but i’m sure a photo taken seconds later would show that she finally did get that index finger down. it’s tough sometimes when you’re first learning how to flip the bird.

  36. Jeff says:

At least she is doing it to her brother and not the whole country. Come Jan 20 all I can say is you asked for it you got it…SHIT

  37. Jeff says:

Talking politics on the internet is like running in the Special Olympics…
Even if you win your still retarded……….

  38. Cyph says:

  40. Lulz says:

….please whine some more about stupid crap, this was for the lulz. That’s what this site is about….if you can’t handle it leave. Shopped or not I enjoyed it and friends and family did to. Take the stick out your ass and look at he picture for what it is. Do you know why there’s little to no pictures slandering Obama on this site? Because you stuck up conservatives don’t have a damn sense of humor, so until you get one stop the whining no one wants to hear it.

  41. n8squared says:

what the hell is she wearing?

  42. silly_me says:

It’s funny, because in the original, she’s holding up two fingers, which in England is a gesture about as obscene as the middle finger. :D

  43. HMM says:

I’m going to take this seriously, because obviously this matters…
