Woah there…someone’s a little touchy… I’m a conservative, and I completely disagree with Obama’s policies, but I do understand that there are indeed various ways to phrase a particular idea. I also find it ironic that in your rantings on the supposed lack of intelligence and grammatical aptitude required to make such a joke, you yourself neglect many basic rules of English grammar. A LOL is a LOL. Quit griping, and quit splitting infinitives.

cjk – I think most of us know what was meant by the signs – but we choose to see humor in ordinary things. Many Americans may be too stupid to figure out the sign grammar is correct, but apparently you are too stupid to figure out that this was meant to be funny – maybe you aren’t into Yoda, I can let that slide, but don’t call people idiots just because you don’t understand their humor.

Wrong. He is just well versed and for the last two years, he has not stuck with a single definitive isssue because his position has changed with every speech. He is a good speaker, but I am tired of talk. It changes nothing. I see action on the McCain ticket and he is undeniably the most experienced, most knowlegable, and most honest candidate. You were making parallels, I was assigning characters. Big difference. Your “rules” don’t apply. You can’t assign parallels with the people given because it just doesn’t work. No one’s cool enough to be Palpatine. What you can do is pick characters that seem to fit the person in one way or other, *individually*, and still have plenty of funny. Biden’s role I assigned had nothing to do with Obama’s, just like Palin and McCain’s aren’t really related. And neither side is related to each other. They just are what they are. If you can’t find something funny without perfect parallels, then you’re a bigger geek than most of the geeks I’ve met even at places like DragonCon.

No I was merely stating that if Biden was Dooku… Obama would HAVE to be
Palpatine, because thats how the parallel runs. It has nothing to do with my
personal preference. Im very sorry that the rules of drawing a parallel dont
fit how you wish Obama was Jar Jar, but… well they dont. Its a matter of the inaccuracy ruining the funny, cause when you make a parallel, getting the
associations right or perfect is what make it all the more funny.
