Well you see a movie reference, get pissed, then slam us for being sexist when we are making a reference to a part of a movie where the boy was being seduced by a woman. The juxposition of the picture works very well for that reference.
However, instead of just going with a reference and moving on, you decide that we are attacking your heroine and thus have to have a show of bitter feminism.
Is there a reason that a (your words) strong, intelligent, wonderful woman can’t be sexy or have sex appeal? Is there a reason that finding said woman sexy or even OMG a sex object is so offensive. I’ve know strong women from women who call themselves slaves to women who hold the whip over their male or female submissives. Not talking so called professionals either. I am talking 24/7 girls.
Strong women are secure in their sexuality and realize that people will fantasize. Doesn’t make them any less of a woman to enjoy that or even encourage it. Strong women also don’t define themselves by other people’s opinions.

I agree, it IS clever. But let’s be honest here. The Graduate was released in 1967 The Simon & Garfunkel song, 1968. How many people who post here were even born yet? I know you don’t have to have been alive at the release to have seen a movie or heard a song, but really, the 80s are probably considered ancient history by your average internet user. I am not surprised in the least that the reference has zoomed over the heads (not unlike Sarah Palin’s hunting methods) of some posters.

Come on. It’s a classic and the line being referenced has been alluded to a number of other times as well as gracing the list of the AFI’s top movie quotes. This isn’t just culture, it’s pop culture. And if Generation MTV is good at knowing anything, it’s pop culture.
