I’d love to find whoever chose -him- in ’04 and “shake their hand” (that’s what the kids are calling it these days, correct?)

Although I did like his comments about the difference between “Senator McCain” and “Candidate McCain”.

I sure found myself liking “campaigning for Obama Kerry” a lot more than “sputtering, oh my god you managed to look -worse- than -BUSH- Candidate Kerry”.

In my neck of the woods (so to speak, although you’d find precious few woods in the part of NJ where I grew up), “macaroni” was the categorical name that my family called spaghetti, linguini, fettucini, cavatelli, ziti, fusilli, rigatoni, etc. etc. etc. etc. Since we customarily ate macaroni twice a week the entire time I lived there, I think I’m pretty familiar with what macaroni actually is (although I may be confused on a fair number of other subjects, I freely admit). “Pasta”, as I use the term, is what people who are not of Italian descent call macaroni, in much the same way as they refer to gravy as “sauce”.

There’s probably a certain amount of variation, as with calling Coca-Cola “soda” vs. “pop”, but that’s the phraseology I use in my little corner of the vocabulary universe. YMMV.

Now then, shall we discuss the many types of Pi [really bad pun]?

The trouble I have with Bob Barr is that he was unimpressive and barely unindicted as a Republican representative, and now that he has apparently joine the Libertarian Party, he believes that we can solve all our problems by stripping the government down to the bare frame and leaving it that way. That only works on a car, and then only if you’re selling it for parts.

Somehow I have a hard time beleiving conservatives are ever voting for a person. In other words they vote for an ideaology which republican canidates are forced to adopt. Like how John went back on his immigration speech in SoCal after his campaign heard about what he said. Likewise democrats are swayed by eloquence and a sense of ‘im important to things’ which if the liberal canidate doesnt give then the democrats dont vote.

Wrong. First, McCain was a huge supporter of the NON-PARTISAN group Acorn. He was a keynote speaker. Second, ACORN is required by law to submit all applications, and they appropriately marked the ones that were suspect. Third, that was a voter registration issue. How are any of those fake folks going to show up and vote?

The real reason this happened is because the Republicans want an excuse to purge the voter rolls of as many new voters as possible, because most newly registered voters are going for Obama. So this whole ACORN thing is actually Republican voter fraud, an effort to illegally purge legal, valid, registered voters from the rolls.

First, the Bradley race was decades ago. Racism isn’t quite as bad now as it was then. Second, there is a reverse Bradley effect, where people won’t admit they are actually voting for a black man. Then there is the fact that plenty of unlikely voters ARE going to vote this election, and mostly they are going to vote for Obama because of race.

As for ‘massive voter fraud’ you are completely wrong. There is none. There was some minor discrepancies in voter registration, but unless Mickey Mouse shows up at the voting booth, it isn’t vote fraud. And there is FAR more of it from the right, heck, one of yours just got indicted for it.

Okay, I haven’t bragged about the fact that I am on South Park yet, so I suppose now is as good a time as any to get it out of the way You ever see the two episodes with the two nerdy guys? One was when the kids went back in time, I can’t remember what the other one is. Anyway, the blond guy with the glasses and ponytail is me, the fat guy with dark hair is my good friend Mark Pesci who introduced me to Matt and Trey. We worked with them for about a year. MArk spoke at a bunch of weird events they organized, like Lap Dance 2000 at the Sundance festival. I worked for their web design company. They never actually came out and admitted that those characters were us, so maybe I’m imagining things, but the characters appeared a few months after they’d met us, and they look just like us, and they never denied it, either, so I’m sticking with my story

Reagan actually won 49 against Mondale, though, so a different election. But I do see what you are saying about taking polls with a grain of salt and no real way of knowing what will happen. I never really did trust polls in the first place though because it is such a small population sample and it is voluntary. I’ve never really relied on them.
