Maybe. But I think it’s more of a result of them allowing the divisiveness. They were selling hate (or at least not disavowing it. i.e muslim, terrorist, etc) McCain himself looked disappointed in what he had sown by the end there. There are still a bunch of crazies around here spewing the hate garbage. It’s deeply sown. Sadly.

I do know that he had SS protection, but a provoked expression turning into a “death threat” seems a bit exaggerated.

Joe the plumber is overdone.

Were they attacking the husband before the interview? I doubt it. It was not his fault that she asked those questions, and the Dems could have just refused to give them anymore interviews after that.

The cause was probably a lot of frustration.

I agree, it would have been better for everyone to stay quiet and let him do his speech, but this was a very long and toughly fought election on both sides, so I’m not surprised to see some left over animosity.

I’m sure it would have been much more amiable if he gave that speech today.

Likewise, all the unfounded attacks at Obama were not started by the republican ticket, but by the crazies that everyone has at the edge of their party.

Also, there were plenty of slanders against Palin

Snopes is a good place to research rumors, but there were a couple of questions that were never really answered.
What did he do for ACORN?
What did he do as a community organizer?
Why did he stay at that church when it wasn’t really his faith?
How did he really come to meet Ayers?
Why didn’t he just show his birth certificate to that guy who started the lawsuit against him?

I know some are more personal than others, but I think they’re all fair for someone who is running for leader of this country.

Besides, McCain was happy to produce his birth certificate and medical records when asked. Also, some reporters went over to Vietnam to interview his captors at Hanoi.

Heh, my papa (that’s my grandfather) is a die hard Rep. He’s also a vet. of both the Vietnam war and the Korean war and knows more than a thing or two about Senator McCain and all that crap and he… flat out refused to vote for him because he thinks he’s a lying liar who lies (my interpretation of his words).

Not saying he wasn’t a POW or anything like that, I’m just saying I wouldn’t put him on quite so high a pedestal – his heart might not be able to handle it.

Not to pull the rug out, but at a few community colleges around where I live, things have gotten pretty rough. Quad parties that got so loud you could hear them word-for-word half way across campus, and that lasted until 3AM when the police were called. The most disappointing part was that one had the gall to whine the next day that “you damn white people were just jealous ‘cus Obama won!”. I kinda pity those types of people. But seriously, can you believe the gall?

I know, but some of the righty nut jobs were saying there would be rioting in the streets and looting, etc like there has been after a couple of superbowls. The left at least in this instance has remained pretty classy about the whole thing. Not that there aren’t a few nutters going round with a few Nyah nyah nyah’s, but, that’s mild compared to wheat the right wing pundits were proposing. They must be very disapointed this didn’t happen. I don’t think they know how to understand “Hope” as their party hasn’t had any in quite a while.

the biggest joke was the irony of the caption. high road: your doing it wrong is more like it. he was just as bad and shady as mccain, engaged in a straw man trying to make mccain seem like bush, his ads were full of inaccuracies, misquotes, and blatant lies..
this man did not take any high road. he rode the wave of a fad, and empty statements. he pulled a big one over on the american people with his “change”, and “uncoruptablility” and such.

he doesnt really match any of the synonyms from an unbaised point of view either..
ethical, good, honest, incorruptible, moral, principled, straightforward, true, trustworthy, upright.

1) About the death threat, that would have been handled by either local law enforcement or by the Secret Service. And after all of the threats that Obama got during the primaries. You do know that he received Secret Service protection the earliest of any of the candidates.
2) Not going anywhere near Joe the (not) Plumber, who is working on a book.
3) The reporter’s husband is a Republican media consultant in Florida. ‘Nuff Said.

Actually, yeah. I have a feeling people are going to get furious at Obama at one point or another these next four years. The mentality has been “If we elect Obama EVERYTHING WILL BE FIXED!”

The best thing the left side could do for Obama now would be to lower their expectations and not expect major results until some 2-5 years from now.
