By fair and balanced you mean that Bill O and Hannity make Nancy Grace seem like a balanced, polite commentator, than sure.
As for FOX NEWS, I watch it to see what the other side says along with MSNBC and CNN. Here’s a news flash: EVERYONE THINKS THEY’RE RIGHT!!11 I believe it all lies in the discussions and interviewing techniques that are presented every night as opposed to the shouting, interupting, downright mudslinging dickery that happens primarily on FOX.

You can copyright anything you want. The key lies in your ability to defend your copyright. Not everything that happens out there affects one’s copyright, to defend it, there has to be some chance of confusion. I.E. I could open “Fair and Balanced Chicken Palace” serving the finest fried chicken anywhere and it is likely that a court would find that I violated Fox’s copyright. But if CNN were to use the phrase in advertising in a NON-satirical manner, then that WOULD be a violation of the copyright.

I concur! The only reason the Radical Left hates Fox News is because they *are* fair and balanced. When they’re critical, they are critical of both Democrats and Republicans. CNN, MSNBC, and the broadcast networks, only seems “fair and balanced” to those on the extreme left because CNN, et al., are also far to the left.

Okay, the talking head opinion shows may not be “fair and balanced”, but they balance the lefty drivel from CNN and MSNBC and Oprah. We don’t need to balance Bill O’Reilly. He *is* the balance for Keith Oberman.

I only ever watched fox news, even before I decided who I was voting for.
Unlike CNN and MSNBC they actually gave the republican party AND democratic party equal coverage.

I want to see every party answer hard questions. Not see a news organization critisized for asking them.

If the hypocrisy of liberals on this issue was mass, they’d form several black holes.

Fox is SUCH a terrible network for merely permitting conservatives to speak and be heard, but networks like ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, PBS, CNBC, MSNBC, etc. are legit, objective, neutral, and are merely observing and reporting events.

Liberal Americans: The Stalinist media just completed the engineering of a presidential election. Meanwhile some still have the gall to mention Fox.

Yet I’m sure you all think CNN is “fair and balanced” as well. Yes Fox News is generally conservative and yes CNN is generally liberal. However, Fox News seems to stand out more to you people because every other news station is overwhelmingly liberal in nature. That’s simply how the media is nowadays and that makes it a hell of a lot harder for people with common sense (read: conservatives) to deliver a story filled with truthiness.

Look, folks, the straight truth in this matter is the mainstream media is not left-leaning or right-leaning, but dollar-leaning. Their only loyalties have been to their stockholders. Most of the standard news stations (ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN) will pitch stories that are going to garner ratings. Close races are more watched than landslides.

When FoxNews came on the scene, Rupert Murdoch succeeded in blending journalism with punditry to the bastard result most Americans assume is what news is supposed to be. Rupie is a conservative, so he impressed a conservative agenda on the pundits. MSNBC decided to create the counter to FoxNews.

Hate to be the bucket of cold water waking people from a nice nap, but punditry has no place journalism. One is not meant to weasel one’s opinion into the news, nor is journalism intended to pander. All media is supposed to be “gotcha”. Its how we citizens are supposed to be able to check our politicians until election day.
