Oh So THAT'S How it Works!

Oh come on, the man’s leaving! Can’t we just let him leave?
Is that an honest question… really?!
Prolly yeah!
and that woths makes him stupid a man that have runed that mutch shul be hunted for ewer
what did you just say? good lord man. Not only was there numerous spelling mistakes but that sentence makes no sense and has ZERO sentence structure! Wow. just wow.
All the same, Vidarn makes a valid point. We should definitely hunt for the runes and the ewer!
Besides, moths make me stupid, too.
No, we should pick UP the Gourd and FOLLOW the sandal!
Oh–you’re right Tessie! The moths made me so stupid, I completely missed your point. *picks up gourd; looks for sandal prints*
Hey wait a minute…It’s a SHOE!
He has left us his shoe as a sign that all of His followers shall go with one foot bare!
I like moths. I always try to save them but I think they’re suicidal.
*SNAP* That’s W, defending himself!
LOL…
Anyway, back to the pic…
Don’t tempt me. I’d kick him.
Are you speaking LOL? I’m pretty sure we don’t do that sort of thing around here.
I think he’s speaking Livonian.
What, and break an eight-year whining streak?
For people who formed moveon.org, they sure can’t.
How about we stop taking him to task for all the crap he’s caused only after we’ve finally undone all the damage he caused. We should be done castigating Herbert Hoover in a couple of years, I’m sure W’s reprieve won’t be more than a century behind that.
Ironic target choice, considering moveon.org was formed in protest of conservative whining.
NO! This may be our last chance to make this much fun of the republican party! After he leaves, who knows. We may have to take them seriously! (shudder) We must enjoy this while we can.
you expecting Satan to skate to work any time soon?
Face it, when the Democrats take over everything, your going to have to start making fun of them, there will be no choice. That’s a good start too!
This is American politics… the worlds biggest Freak show. Why on earth would anyone take any of the seriously?
Because we’ve got the bombs… that’s why. Two words: Nuclear f*ckin’ weapons, OK?
Still doesn’t mean I have to take you seriously… It’s still a freakshow
So’s the whole world, look around.
But the American one sets the bar…
We’re sooooo competitive!
Really? Fist fights in the Parliament, poisoning political opponents, the British Royalty, stolen elections and the US is the one that sets the bar for freak show status? Seriously?
For the 20th/21st Century you do… everything else is pale by comparison.
But then, that’s because the US behaves as a stumbling demented child king(*) across the planet, rather than keeping its insanity local.
* – Props to Alice Cooper
Well, certainly for the last decade or so of the 20th and of course much of the 21st (so far) we’ve been the big dog on the block. But I would say the USSR held a pretty big candle too. China and Russia are now making a pretty good stab at taking their freak shows out for a walk in the park too.
But yeah, ultimately right now we are the big dog so everyone got their eye on us. Still not sure we’re more-freaky-than-thou, just that our freakiness is large in scope and effect. heh.
should have said USSR held a pretty big candle prior to that…
complete sentences FAIL.
You get the gold medal…
“Two words: Nuclear f*ckin’ weapons, OK?”
That’s four words, Mr big tough American
You beat me to it! I was gonna say, “Pick any two words. I pick f*ckin’ ok.”
When you have nu-cyah-lur bombs, u no kneed grammers!
With that attitude, you’re supposed to spell it Noocular.
Thank you for single handedly proving to foreigners their hatred for Americans is sound. Good job.
That’s three words
Four words.
Why did nobody get your song reference? I like that song.
For people who don’t know, I’ve linked my name.
Thank you! I was wondering what that was. I lubz me some Dennis!
Uuuh… that’s three words…
Your comment is illogical. You have caused a glitch in the matrix. Error 943643 has occurred. Your files have been deleted. Thank you for choosing Windows Vista.
Nope. I was thinking more like Chathuulu maybe. . .
Oh, I’m sure we’ll have plenty of chances to make fun of the GOP.
I would feel more like doing that if he showed any regret or at least understanding of the harm he’s done and the lives he has cost. But even though he hasn’t, it still feels like a too-easy target, so I’m kinda with you on this one. Just let him go….
That would imply he gave a rat’s ass
Nope froofrou, *some* of the liberals here need to show how tolerant they are by hating someone.
I’ll tolerate his mistakes the moment he drops the arrogant refusal to accept he’s done anything wrong. Until then, he’s part of the problem, above and beyond his otherwise human-level incompetence and oafishness.
You’ll be waiting a long time for that apology. Someone wittier than I once said that the two words W was unable to pronounce are “nuclear” and “sorry”.
Saw W. this weekend—sort of made me feel like he is not as bad a person as I thought- terrible leader, and while many are irritated at Stone for being soft on W., I think the portrayal actually provides some insight- he just wants daddy to love him…forgive me but he needed to work that out privately, like the rest of neurotic America…not by invaded a sovereign country. With that said, i think he was in over his head at all times, and easily manipulated by his advisors—sounds a lot like Carter actually- except Carter was more intelligent- they both ruined the potential of their presidencies by listening to and empowering the wrong pp.
noooo, he was such a FAILURE!!!
Yeah, we need to follow the example set by the Republicans when Clinton departed. Lessee…How long did we endure Lewinsky references???
Yeah! Let’s take the W’s off all the keyboards in the White House and trash all the rooms! Oh, wait… that’s what the Clintons did when Bush became president… hm… So much for the tolerant left, eh?
[Citation needed.]
I was just thinking that Bush was being a great deal more gracious than Clinton (I LOVED Clinton, but he made MANY judgment errors). But to be fair (or give perspective, not excuses, Clinton had been the focus of a witch-hunt for 6 years that came up with a blow job, and then the election was very close, and decided in the supreme court, disenfranchising many voters (no comment about if right or wrong)- so their was a great deal of anger at the injustice being served in their perspective. Bush ruined his own presidency, the democrats did not spend unlimited resources trying to find something, ANYTHING to indict him on- he had the highest approval ratings he could ask for after 9/11, even though that was NOT handled well in the immediate aftermath- overall he did ok to most pp (not to me, but most pp thought he did well). He went from this to nothing because of 2 things- listening to the wrong pp, and leading a culture of group think sycophancy in his cabinet- he did not want to hear dissent- he made it uncomfortable to do so, and ignored it when it occurred- Black and White- with us or against us…so if he is able to be gracious now, (and his staff), they had a different experience is ruining their legacy than Clinton and his staff did- if Bush had been investigated more closely (which he should have been if Congress provided the oversight they should have- but it is a matter of degree from appropriate to persecution). I am not excusing what the Clinton staff did- it was infantile and inappropriate, but they did have a very different experience with the other party in their time in the white house compared to Bush. So while not justified, it may be understandable.
I still make Lewinsky jokes…
Like the Lewinsky humidor can only hold three cigars…
four at a stretch…
Aw, that’s like kicking a retarded puppy when he’s down.
What would probably end up happening is as you are running in for a Charlie Brown style punt, someone pulls the president away and you go rocketing forward and land flat on your back.
It’s not often I laugh out loud at forum post. Thanks for the hilarious mental picture
Except that the retarded puppy put troops into harm’s way, and put us into debt to China, et c.
Just keep walking.
Preferably a long walk off a short pier.
He’s coming back to my state. I’ll know he’s here when the lights start flickering, and the TV goes all staticky again.
And blood starts dripping from the walls… oh, no, wait; that would mean that Stephen King is coming to your state. My bad.
poor Rhorho. You can do like me and move to Montana. it’s a country away from bush.
*sings* Moving to Montana sooooooon…
Lets just say I’m glad I wasn’t in his position.
Although, a “Don’t let the door hit you on the way out” caption would have been more appropriate.
There were tons of those. IMO this one made it because of its unique, mildly pre-teen humor.
I don’t believe he was a great president, but I do challenge all of you that say how terrible he is, to go to Washington and show him how it’s done….
Have you taken a look around? It’s just amazing that the US is even standing at this point!
I’m not willing to go to Washington and show him how it’s done, I don’t have either the qualifications or the capability to…neither do most Americans…that’s why we have the power to vote. I believe that this election was also a referendum on his Presidency, and that’s good enough for me…
And one man caused it all? It wasn;t the Congress that has to approve most things he does?
Excellent point! He had one-party rule for 6 years!
If you look at how the world views America, they look to one man…
Also, wasn’t it a Republican Congress?
I think the thing to remember here is that if you are “Captain of the Ship”, and it goes down, no one ever blaims the boiler-room mechanic…the problem I have with “W” is that while the ship was going down, he kept telling everyone that there was no need for lifeboats.
Much like the Titanic, only the rich deserved lifeboats.
“Some people say changing the cabinet around is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. That’s not true; this administration isn’t sinking. In fact, this administration is soaring; if anything, it’s like rearranging the deck chairs on the Hindenburg.”
You sir, win the internet. (if you are not a sir I apologize, but you still win the internet for that quote)
Don’t forget the women and children.
AAAAKKK!!! Thanks for the reminder – they’re still in Kmart!
Only if they’re not in Leonardo Di Caprio class…
Ya, I can always afford another sex slave/factor worker. *puffs expensive puffing thing*
Not to mention, there is now a socioeconomic rift for people to access public office. People have to run for national office on TV, and since that’s so expensive, there really is no longer the capacity for any of us Mr. Smith Goes to Washington stories. It’s supposed to be available to any who want to run, but unfortunately, it’s no longer like that.
It’s one of the reasons that the middle class has such poor representation by our elected officials. They are no longer “of the people” so to speak.
Yea, you have to kiss a lot of butts to get that kind of money. *shudder*
I’ll show him how it’s done. Lesson 1 don’t gut federal institutions by replacing competent employees with cronies hired because of their party line loyalty over actual talents. IE Don’t put horse trainers in charge of FEMA.
Lesson 2: Better to remain silent and have others think you a fool, than to open your mouth and prove it. A lesson that Dubya never learned…
Lesson 3: Get a map, and ‘figger’ out where our enemies are.
Lesson 4: “Nuclear” not “Nucular”
Lesson 5: Beware of pretzels.
Lesson 6: Learn from mistakes.
Lesson 7: never trust a subordinate that will shoot someone in the face
Lesson 8: sticking your fingers in your ears and saying “Lalalalala, I can’t hear you” is no way to govern.
Lesson 9: Don’t eat the yellow snow
but I like the peppy zing of it… mmmmm salty
Caveat to 7: accept that you have made mistakes….
How good a President I would make is certainly open to speculation, but I’m pretty sure that, if given the option, I would not have attacked a country that was no threat to us.
That said, it’s probably worth pointing out that W, from all reports, was remarkably resistant to listening to those with expertise (e.g. Generals Shineski and Schwartzkopf) who attempted to show him how it’s done. No one can realistically be expected to be an expert at everything, but why bother to have learned advisors if you’re going to ignore them?
Secret of goof management is knowing when to delegate
Paging Doctor Freud! We have a code BLUE! I repeat BLUE!
although the slip sort of make sense…
Until I read that, I thought it was deliberate… ‘goof management’ makes sense applied to W. Perhaps I need coffee… NO! NOT AGAIN!! I REFUSE TO SPEW ANY MORE DRINKS ACROSS THE MONITOR!!
I have something but I prefer if it is swallowed instead of spewed…
You know… he’s probably had this done to him more than once. I mean yeah, the guy was pretty wretched, but it’s over now. I’ll give you your final weeks of hurrahs, but once he’s done let the guy disappear. Like Sarah Palin did. That was a flash in the pan!
What do you wanna bet on his last day in office, he nukes china for shits and giggles?
But then he’ll be faced for War crimes, though if there’s no world to arrest you, why hold back?
Or just pours a can of gasoline over the white house and tosses a match?
Sarah’s in the lower 48 for two more news cycles, at least. You know, when the host goes to bed, it’s time to leave!
No. Don’t let either one of them disappear, because then people will forget, and it could happen again. Mock them mercilessly. Let both their names become synonymous for epic, willful and unrepentant stupidity. Let them be the butt of jokes for generations. Make their legacies into laughingstocks. Ensure that any time anyone says the name ‘Bush’ or ‘Palin,’ it is accompanied by a derisive laugh. The one thing people like these want most is to be seen as superior to others. Make sure they know that they are seen as laughably inferior. Let them be remembered only as a cautionary tale, so that others with the same ambition will think twice before subjecting us to their selfish idiocy.
[locomotive cheer]
I bow to Seth, the master.
I was rather impressed with that. If not a shining example, then a terrible warning.
The end of error~ Will be different not having a moron leading the free world any more.
this is funny in an elementary pov
when someone’s back is turned, you stick a ‘kick me’ note on em !
i LOLed
Me too.
That is absolutely hysterical!
Ahhh you can smell the tolerance.
LMAO!!
Since when should incompetence and willful ignorance in our elected leaders be “tolerated”?
Why don’t you tell us something he’s done that he shouldn’t be kicked in the backside for?
*tumbleweed rolls past*
Erm, hs dog likes him?
*wind moans*
[sound of crickets chirping]
[muffled cough in background]
His tax cuts actually did bring us some economic up turn, but because of mutiple factors, the economy dipped severely. Afghanistan was run pretty smoothly, Iraq was not. 9/11 was handled very well, we didn’t see much happen to the economy after two business buildings were blown up.
I’ll look up more and get back to you later since I just got up.
Oh and despite the fact that yes No Child left behind is very bad for some schools, where I come from having anything in place to keep schools in check is a God send, that’s how bad the schools are where I’m from.
Wrong. We are on the left hand side of the Laffer curve, his tax cuts hurt government revenue. Nice how you can ignore all evidence of what ACTUALLY happened by claiming it would have been much worse without Bush’s idiotic interference. What are you, Mr. Alternate Universe? Afghanistan was a JOKE. We never wanted to catch bin Laden, he is much more useful to the war machine free. We screwed up in Afghanistan, or we wouldn’t still be there. 9/11 handled well?!? Are you high? It was handled abominably. Why did we fly the Saudis out of the US when nobody else was allowed to fly? Most of the 9/11 attackers were Saudis. No Child Left Behind punishes exactly the schools and children that need the most help, it is despicable elitist trash.
Alternative universe…
How did Gotham and Metropolis vote?
I knew I was gonna get ripped apart for ever saying anything thing was good about Bush, but to say he did nothing is ridiculous, I do think he handled 911 very well despite what you are saying.
And yeah I’ll be honest (oop meaning I have respect for myself and others on the site holy shit!) I don’t know much about the the tax system here so I have no idea what the laffer curve is. Ya got me beat there. I’m gonna go inform myself.
But Seth if you saw what was happening in Milwaukee School district you’d flip your f****** lid.
A solution that on the whole causes more problems than it fixes is not a solution. NCLB may have helped in a few places, but it was severely detrimental in many other places.
It’s good your schools benefitted, but surely you agree we must press forward and find a solution that benefits everyone and doesn’t hurt so many people that did not have the luck your schools did.
Yes, I do. I just feel that any step was good for this city, now it needs to change by moving forward instead of taking things away in reference to the school district.
My comment got eaten, how is this happening? I’ve got some rebuttle but I’ll admit to you seth (cause I like you and this should be an example to others) that I don’t know anything about our tax system. Laffer curve is over my head.
Sorry, I should explain that term. Basically, the theory goes, at 100% taxation, nobody would work at all, so government revenue would be zero. A 0% tax rate would also net the government zero income. Obviously, at some point between zero and one hundred percent taxation, we have the point of maximum government income. Raising taxes beyond this point will slow the economy enough to reduce income, but lowering taxes below this point won’t speed up the economy enough to offset the lost income.
–
The question is, where is that point? The Austrian School economists such as Milton Friedman would have us believe that point is very low, but other reputable studies have shown the optimal tax rate for maximizing government income is actually around 65%. Any guesses what our ACTUAL tax rate
is? It’s very simple to figure out, just look at our GDP and actual government income. Our tax rate is 7% of our GDP, the lowest among any first world nation by a large margin. Even Austrian School economists can’t claim that 7% is the optimal tax rate for government income, and claiming that lowering the tax rate even further would somehow raise government income is simply ludicrous, and no sane economist would claim otherwise.
Gonna have to read that more then once.
You’ll be happy to know that I am combing the internet for an updated version of the accomplishments of bush and having a very hard time finding them and getting to the point where I’m raising my hands giving up.
With the deficit going up yes, you are right, we have been hurt, but can’t that be offset by the pork barrel spending? Second, I know that clinton lowered the deficit by gouging the military.
Well, everyone agreed that the end of the Cold War would mean a smaller military. But Clinton did more than ‘gouge the military,’ he cut waste in the military and in all other areas of government. Remember the $800 toilet seat? Was getting rid of things like that what you call gouging, or what you call getting rid of pork barrel spending?
–
The bad thing that Clinton did to the military was outsourcing so much of the operational aspects. Well, he started it and Bush took it to it’s illogical conclusion.
Don’t know anything about an $800 toilet seat, I was in middle school during most of those times so yeah lol, no chance of me knowing to much about the clinton era save what my parents tell me.
Gah, the Austrian School… Mostly economics is Voodoo, but theirs was snake oil
Worse than snake oil. Their philosophy is an apologia for power, greed, and inequality. It is an affirmation of social Darwinist thinking. It makes selfishness a virtue, sharing an aberration, and money a God. It has also been proven to have reached false conclusions based on false premises. People are not inherently greedy and selfish, quite the contrary, most non-sociopaths are driven more by notions of fairness and reciprocity than by self-interest. Only when people inhabit a system that rewards selfishness and punishes cooperation do they become selfish, out of necessity.
I understand what you are saying- but any thoughts/comments on how I pay closer to 35%? And that seems reasonable to me BTW- I make good money, and am single, so I can afford to pay that much. I do get irritated when tax dollars are used to buy assets for those that were not as careful as I was and bought houses they could not afford- I still have 2 years of saving before I can have the down-payment large enough that my mortgage for the house I want will be reasonable. Even thought I was offered that size of mortgage 2 years ago when I was making 1/2 what I do now…but I did the math- Maybe I should have bought it then, then my taxes would be buying MY asset for ME. I want to feel the appropriate liberal empathy for these folks…but since when do taxes go to buy assets for individuals…it bugs me…any thoughts?
I’m not willing to overlook “the fact that yes No Child left behind is very bad for some schools”. My kids are in one of those schools. Click my name for the government’s own interim report on Reading First grants effectiveness. Our school is in year 4 of school improvement, and we were in the group of schools who received some of the first grant money for Reading First. Our literacy scores have decreased every year since on the state exams, despite improved scores on kindergarten readiness coming from our outstanding preschool. I’ve had 3 kids learn to read through this same school, and the “worst” reader of the family at this age came through the Reading First program.
So, no, don’t ask me to be tolerant of this bullshit. This is the only childhood these kids get.
I about 90% agreed with you, where in the world are you coming from?
The principle behind NCLB is good. The way it is implemented is terrible
OH, also, I should have just went this route, why does someone have to may you happy for you to be tolerant of them?
Answer, they don’t
You can disagree with someone yet still tolerate what they do, it’s what Barack is calling the nation to do *GASP*!!!!!!!!!!!
“OH, also, I should have just went this route, why does someone have to may you happy for you to be tolerant of them? ”
Pardon?
Except certain behaviors ARE NOT TOLERABLE. Never, ever, not in a million years, not a teeny tiny bit tolerable. We do not have to tolerate criminal, treasonous, traitorous destruction of our country and its ideals. Sorry, you ‘tolerate’ people who are different from you, but basically good. You do not tolerate naked unrepentant evil. Tolerance of evil is appeasement, Mr. Chamberlain.
Well, abortion is a hot button issue, because it involves some very basic ideals such as ‘don’t harm the innocent’ and ‘human life is sacred.’ Different people have different definitions of ‘harm,’ ‘innocent,’ and ‘human life.’
–
Just remember, it’s only ‘murder’ if it is unlawful killing. Killing is just peachy if it benefits society, capital punishment & war being the prime examples. So the real question isn’t ‘is a fetus a human?’ it is ‘does killing this fetus benefit society?’ If you are going to be pragmatic and sanction any kind of killing at all, you must perform the same analysis of abortion that you do of other types of killing. Otherwise, you are being a hypocrite. Oh, and you can’t claim ‘innocence’ as a reason not to kill a fetus. Enemy soldiers are just as innocent as our soldiers are, yet we kill them because not killing them would be a problem.
–
And the data proves that killing fetuses benefits society. Adult violent crime rates began to fall exactly 18 years to the day after Roe vs. Wade passed. Unwanted kids grow up to be drains on society. I realize that this analysis is Machiavellian and uncomfortable, but it is the only way of looking at the problem that does not get bogged down in undecidable, competing definitions of what human life is.
I feel the argument should start at the definition between killing and murder as to which I feel there is a HUGE difference.
Your last bit of data over the correlation between Roe v. Wade and reduction in violent crime is extremely debatable.
Correlation is not causation, sure, I agree. There could be many reasons for the drop in crime, but I haven’t heard any other good theories that explain the correlation, have you?
“Your last bit of data over the correlation between Roe v. Wade and reduction in violent crime is extremely debatable.”
Prove it, you who didn’t know what the Lafler curve was… One thing I leardnfrom my days researching positive feedback mechanisms in markets is that one can’t really predict with any certainty, over even a medium short term, how a societal fashion will affect any other metric in that society.
And, here in the Old Country, the least common form of abortion is partial birth/third trimester, despite it being legal. Generally, the ‘OMFG I don’t WANT a baby’ brigade are in the ‘morning after pill’/1st trimester scale (and really people with that reaction probably are wise to not have children), the remainder being health and psych issues and spread more evenly.
TBH, anyone pulling the ‘OMG Teh Innocents!!!!1111eleventy-onewww!!’ style argument need to pull it together and think from their goddamned neck UP. and come up with a socially cohesive plan that deals with all aspects of the root causes, not just pull up pictures of foetus road kill (that are usually inthe gross pathology end of foetal development to anyone who has looked at the matter of foetal development even as desultory fashion as I have)
and wail “The Horror… The Horror!” ATM, unless you have better answers than ‘I don’t approve’ you’re a part of the problem.
Don’t mock people for not knowing what the Laffer curve is, it’s not exactly common knowledge. The rest of your post is spot on, though.
A lack of evidence does not prove the evidence give to be true, simple as that, you can’t exactly prove that the violent crime correlates to that with any evidence save the timeline which isn’t hard evidence at all. I don’t have to bring up another example, I’m not arguing why violent crime went up.
I can see how you are frustrated with this issue, I’ve met people like that as well and there is very little point in talking with them. I consider myself on there side (I say that VERY loosely) and they’ve attacked me.
Went I went into the abortion argument, I didn’t clarify that while I do’nt like the morning after pill there is VERY little anyone can do to regulate it so it’s quite the moot point, but first trimester still is something I disagree with, children are a soft spot for me. Secondly being that I adhere to christian law I can’t endorse anyone that is going to say that all this is okay.
You’re attacking so there is VERY little I can do to discuss this with you. Part of the problem is not teaching kids sex education at a younger age, they don’t understand the pregnancy issues and that is where most of the abortions are desired. Everything else is with adults educated and no one should have and abortion because it is “convenient” because that it is irresponsible. I’ve begrudgingly heard well thought out arguments, and one thing that seems to fail to many people is the problem that there is a difference between killing and murder.
I can understand health and psych issues but people should get that checked out BEFORE they have a child, not during and say “whoops, abort it cause I messed up”. Lastly most women regret having the abortion, there have been many cases of psychological damage done after abortion, I see it hurt more women then help.
To invoke ‘Christian’ law is dicey ground. Jesus was silent on the matter of revoking the Mosaic law that more or less places a value on a child’s life only after it’s born.
I’m attacking nauseous sentimentality with no dealing the reality. Want a ban, fine… provide a decent end to end solution, or deal with something you personally don’t like and have little right to judge. I don’t get off on the idea myself, but I don’t have a better solution.
Also the “Lastly most women regret having the abortion, there have been many cases of psychological damage done after abortion, I see it hurt more women then help.” is only your experience. I’ve never known anyone skip into a clinic singing ‘Sweet Mystery of Life’, but by the same token, I’ve seen numerous women completely screwed up and wishing they’d terminated when there was the option. And there’s now a second person being screwed up by the decision. The coin has two sides. I know both.
I just get very, very tired of semi-judgemental glurge based on sentiment rather than the reality of the seriously unwanted child.
judge this…
• Eight broken ribs and a broken back, with another area of bleeding around the spine at neck level.
• Numerous bruises, cuts and abrasions, including a deep tear to his left ear lobe, which had been pulled away from his head.
• Severe lacerations to the top of his head, including a large gouge which could have been caused by a dog bite.
• Blackened finger- and toenails, with several nails missing; the middle finger of his right hand was without a nail and its tip was also missing, as if it had been sliced off.
• A tear to his fraenulum, the strip of skin between the middle of the upper lip and the gum, which had partially healed.
• One of his front teeth had also been knocked out and was found in his colon. He had swallowed it.
“Lastly most women regret having the abortion, there have been many cases of psychological damage done after abortion, I see it hurt more women then help.”
My personal experience is quite the opposite. Most women do not regret it all,. I don’t have any statistics to point at, this is simply my own observation. Interesting difference, anyway. Maybe we are both right and there is a big difference between how it is handled in different countries? The ones I have heard here who have felt uncomfortable have been uncomfortable about not being more uncomfortable, because people around them had the idea that they _should_ be devastated.
That should be “do not regret it AT all”. Writing posts in this forum is a real pain in the arse.
“Unwanted children grow up to be drains on society”
Pretty bold statement. I am 18 years old. My mother and father, are 35. Do some simple math. My parents understood that it is not their right to decide whether or not a child lives, and they would raise me no matter what. My dad joined the Navy right after graduation in order to support me and my mom.
I am now here at Texas A&M University pursuing a degree in Biomedical Sciences. Am I a drain on society?
Well, that’s why you vote. I find it amusing that gays can’t legally marry but abortion is legal, war is legal.
There are a few further steps to the scale – beyond just “not making happy” you also have “make unhappy” and “deliberately make unhappy”.
Not the most exciting caption. Probably would’ve worked quite well on voting day itself. KICKED ME may have hung better.
Let’s all just remember to show the next president the same level of civility, loyalty, and respect that the Liberals showed President Bush since he was elected in 2000.
Oh wait, that’s right, we CAN”T call Obama names or poke derogatory fun at him like they did Bush, no matter what he does or doesn’t do, because anything less than unconditional worship would be “racist”.
Oh stop whining… Bush was a semi coherent rich boy who screwed up every business he ever touched. I like Nyarlathotep a little better but that’s still a long way from ‘like’ in any sense of the word most here would understand.
Hit a nerve there, did I Fester?
Only by being an idiot… but give me a big hug and I’ll forgive you…
By all means, make fun of Obama’s policies, his ideas, and his choices. Making fun of his ancestry is right out. There’s the line for racism. Since you need the line drawn for you, I’m going to call FAIL in this case.
and he’s not given my a big naked greasy hug like I wanted… he could have gone on top and everything….
WTF?? “Question authority’ is a good motto. When the man takes office we’ll see. Jeez, have some small amount of patience!
You mean the same level of civility, loyalty, and respect that the Republicans showed President Clinton since he was elected in 1992? Please- at least Bush deserved most of the derision- his attacks were based on things that matter- not on a blow job.
I dunno about that. My father may have brainwashed me a bit, but the Clinton administration had a laundry list of things they were accused of being involved in including witness tampering and a pretty hefty body count. Kathleen Willey might tell you about some of it but she may be too preoccupied looking for her cat.
Did you hear that Rush Limbaugh was complaining that Obama had YET to do anything about the economy? :/
Ah right… Gore Vidal was saying he’d like to know his ideas on anything…
Well, Rush Limbaugh is a ranting moron
Steady… you’ll get Madam ‘Kill em all! God’ll sort them out’ crawling up your arse…
This picture pretty much describes the entire Internet.
seriously man, that’s just mean-spirited
Hahahaha! This made me laugh more than it should have. Win.
Ditto.
XD I laugh as soon as I see it.
