There was peace and prosperity during the Clinton years? Gee, I vaguley remember a useless war in Bosnia, and thats right didn’t Clinton get mad at his Chinese backers and bomb one of their embassies also? As for prosperity, yeah it was real prosperous, he moved affirmative action to the housing market and look at the mess we are in now. Thanks President Clinton, because of you there are so many home-foreclosures. And to top all that off we got a psychotic ex-vice-president running around telling everyone they are killing the earth and to buy carbon-offsets from his company to save the world from global warming….

Well, where exactly is he going to get new people who have experience and know how to get things done in Washington. Sadly, the way it’s set up you get either one or the other, experience but “part of the problem” (although that’s a matter for another debate) or not “part of the problem” and no experience. Bill Clinton was criticized for bringing in all new people and then not getting anything done because no one knew how the system worked and how to do anything. The change, as I see it, is the ideas and the way we look at things, bringing in experienced people will mean they can give (hopefully) realisitic advice on the best way to enact these new ideas.

Oh no no no, I’m not criticizing his choices based on his own experience, I’m criticizing them because he’s getting people who have been part of the problem for the last (up to) 30 years. If he really wants change, let’s go for it! I’m all for shaking up Washington, but bringing in the same old tired people is not the way to do it. It’s almost as though he said something (“I will change Washington!”), and didn’t commit.

I promise I’m still giving him a chance to screw up before I condemn him, though. He’s still president, and I respect the office if not the man. I want him to do well, I really do!

I think Hillary is a great idea. Here’s what I’m confused about. We heard all election about how inexperienced Obama is and how he wasn’t ready to be president. Now when he is nominating experienced advisors he’s being criticized for it? He’s damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. If he’d brought in new people he would be criticized for having an inexperienced cabinet. Listen, we need to have a little bit of commen sense here. Politics as usual may frustrate the commen man, but the fact of the matter is Obama has a whole mess of problems waiting for him and if he wants to get anything done in a timely fashion he needs to have people who know how the game is played. That being said, they are ADVISORS. He doesn’t have to listen to him, and it’s his agenda being carried out, not the other way around.

Cabinet members serve at the pleasure of the President. If she tries to undermine him or initiate her own policies from within, we will hear an announcement that she’s leaving her office to “spend more time with her family.”
That said, Hillary is not stupid. She knows what restrictions she will face if she takes this post. Still, sometimes I wish one of those imaginary bullets in Bosnia had come from an expert marksman…
