  2. eddiepscetti says:

More medals means you also get a bigger hat!

  3. ema says:

Is that Putin? He looks like he’s going to cry.

  4. Rolleyes says:

Thats not a medal its an antiwar remembrance pin, They put it on in respect of the soldiers that died and the hardships they lived through. most western nations have a pin like this.

  5. Muff says:

In Soviet Russia, the medals wear you

  6. Maxwell Silverhammer says:

In the words of the asian sushi shop owner down the street, “You best yo-self before you wre-wre-wreck yo-self!”

  7. Marissaftw says:

    Uh… isn’t that a double negative? xD

  8. Blackup says:

Who is that guy with the medals?

  9. фдуч_шяь says:

if any of you assholes knew how many Soviet people died defending their country during WWII, you wouldn’t be making jokes about these veterans!

Who am I kidding? you still would!…

  10. Oscar The Mild says:

If he does take Putin’s chest, it will be the last thing he’ll ever do – after all, Putin takes on Tigers! :)

  11. badcat says:

Medals guy totallylookslike Commandant Lassard from Police Academy.

  12. Captain Wow says:

I’d like to see the guy try. Putin would probably put him to the ground without even ruffling his tie.

  13. Jez says:

nnn, I don’t think they were meaning it towards the Veterans so much as just the faces people are making in the photo. I don’t think anyone was trying to devalue the honorable sacrifice that those veterans made. It’s just a funny photo that was snapped candidly and caught everyone making odd faces.

I am glad your grandfather survived so he could be honored for his accomplishments. I am sure you are proud of your family’s military service and struggle.

  14. Justagirl says:

You strike me as someone who can’t appreciate Mel Brooks. OMG he’s making humorous references to WWII!!!!

I lost two close relatives and my HUSBAND in Iraq.

So, should I never be able to see anything funny in a war post again?

This wasn’t make fun of veterans. No one is attacking them. They seriously could’ve been Wall Street knobheads playing dress up and the facial expressions STILL would have been amusing.

So please, spare us the pity party. I can understand that all of us idiot Americans don’t have ANY idea WHATSOEVER what it is like to fight, and die, for our country *or others* and CERTAINLY none of us could POSSIBLY have a frigging CLUE what kind of respect veterans could possibly deserve.

It not like we’ve ever had soldiers sent home in body bags.

    Oh wait….

  15. dsc says:

damn u could buy more medals for a dime at the greatest polish marketplace THE STADIUM where asia meets europe

  16. Kevin Iz AZN says:

HAHAHAHA I GET THE THOUSANDTH VOTE!!!!!

  17. He can’t get the same shine like Putins!

  18. HvsL says:

You know how in stories they always pick the best medal and just wear that one so it really stands out? Do you suppose that guy’s medals are all “wore tie straight” or “cleanliness is next to godliness” or something and he just hopes quantity will make up for quality?

  19. hungup says:

ok stupids, it’s russian v-day (ww2), this guy probably killed like 8000 nazis or some shit. probably raped your nazi grandma too. and he managed not to croak at 60 like most russians. so he deserves all these medals. looks silly though, i agree.

  20. jasen says:

Awesome picture with some awesome comments!!

  21. ZENIT says:

Greed??? What is the fuc*ing idiot do this stupid collage???

  22. orknexus says:

I can understand your feelings. I just would like to note, that while Russians are extremely highly sentimental about their so called “Great Patriotic War” heroes, they/you/Russians keep forgetting, that GPW was just a slice of WWII, where instead of attacking others, as it was common before and afterwards, USSR got attacked itself. Besides it was done by no one else then the old buddy Adolf Hitler, the friend and the partner of Russia at that time. If you would try to show some respect to the people who fought against Russian Bolshevik aggression in other countries under attack by the USSR, then grandsons of these people probably would pay some more respect to you in return. Instead the current Russian position (both official and popular) is despise and hatred against anyone who disagrees with the Stalinist vision of the Great Russian history and your belief that Russia is always right. It takes two to dance, you know…

  23. AlphaBeta says:

For general reference, Russian military doesn’t like Putin much – he may be a KGB man, but those were always elitists, and lets not forget that he was not even a colonel but got promoted to full “feld-Marshall” (Top Commander). A lot of Generals cannot accept that.

  24. rhorho says:

…if not louder in the manufacture
    *SQWAAAK*

  25. eddiepscetti says:

    And that’s exactly right!

  26. orknexus says:

Alright, jer*k, tell us about all the invasions Russians did in 20th century alone and how many million people suffered because of it.

The funniest topic is the Stalin-Hitler (Molotov-Ribbentrop) pact, which made Communist Russia and Nazi Germany friends and adversaries of the Western democracies.

Tell us how you conquered Poland together with Nazis and had a common parade in the town of Brest-Litowsk!

Are you sure the guy with the medals on the picture was not actually shaking hands with Nazis in 1939? No? Invading Finland in 1939? No? Maybe taking over Latvia in 1940? Still miss? Invading which country then (there were so many of them, name one)? Or maybe he got his medals for organizing the secret police NKVD “operations” to ship thousands of women and children from conquered countries in Eastern Europe to freeze to death in Communist Arctic prison camps? No? What then? Raping woman in East-Prussia in 1945? Or was that Berlin?

You are so proud about that “fighting for a country” thing, which you have made a Mythos, but you keep forgetting how many nations were fighting against you for their respective countries. And you prefer to silently skip that you befriended Nazis, so don’ t complain if you get a stab in the back from them. You got what you were doing to others for a long time before and after that. Taste your own medicine!

Besides your “veterans” spent the next 50 years fighting agains the freedom and democracy all over the world.

So just shut the fu*ck up for God’s sake, russkieman…

  27. AlphaBeta says:

Well I am sure America can always stand proud in its encouragement for freedom of nations…. No wait that doesn’t sound right…
Its more like lets bully the small countries that have something we don’t.
At least Russians never went to war with a country without it threating our borders first…
