And from my point of view, I look dimly upon anyone that would resort to using someone else’s name. Konamali, you do seem reasonable, and aside from this thread, you sound like someone that could be a contributor. The other’s well, who knows. I try and take things as they come, but will admit to taking things personal sometimes.

Usually a troll is only called a troll if they jump out of the wood work and start yelling, making baseless claims, or other wise conduct themselves in a manner that doesn’t allow for conversation. There are some people who we try to de-troll, but it doesn’t always stick.

And dont’ be fooled, a lot of regulars troll here and there, but they are usually obvious about it and only doing it to make a point. AND they will own up to it if questioned or called on it.

@Danbala: Thanks for the info. I should have been more specific about my little sockmonkey friend. By “someone inside” I meant that it’s a PK reg. Sort of a sideline guy, but reg nonetheless. So my question is, do the PK regs do a good job of self-modding, again, within reasonable expectations? I don’t want to have to watch my back constantly, especially if I’m supposed to be among friends. I’m not trying to be insulting about the community here, but it’s supposed to be fun, right? Can’t say I’ve been here long enough to really now, but I’d say it’s definitely not standard. The “Terms of Use” refers to “the Community Guidelines”, I’ve never any such, so I guess it’s mainly self-moderating. In a case like what you describe, I’d contact the admin.

I’ll deal with him on my own. I’m a pretty big stickler for fair gamesmanship, so tell me honestly, is this sort of thing standard on PK or is it discouraged/verboten, as much as it can be of course. You came back with I don’t see that LukeWarm did anything wrong, she should have backed off, and so on, then I said, get your head out of his ass, he’s a message board thug, nothing more, she’s just a newbie that actually thought her opinion matters so why didn’t he just leave her alone in the first place, then you said why are you trashing me and I said for the same reason you’re trashing me, you’re defending your position and I’m defending mine. At least, reading down from the top, that’s the Cliff notes version. So we’re both doing the same thing and we’re both feeling a little silly about it. I’m not going to back down on defending Bet and you probably won’t back down from defending LukeWarm. So it’s either truce time or we keep knocking heads. Depends on how important getting the last word is to either of us. Me, not so much if it’s just rehashing like we’re doing now.

Dammit, I hate when this happens. Jules, for as much sh*t as we’ve been giving each other, I have to agree with you on this one. I’m sure that in 1912, making jokes about the Titanic in public, and probably privately as well, would have been unthinkable too. But time passes and Titanic jokes become mainstream. Difficult to imagine now, but I suppose in 50 years, maybe sooner, 9/11 jokes will be late night comedy fodder too.

I’ll take you at your word on DWN. I don’t know him other than this thread, but I really do think his behavior towards Bet was overkill, needlessly cruel and completely unnecessary. She’s obviously an amateur, and I have a soft spot for the naive. It’s just bad form to stomp someone that harshly when they really don’t deserve it. I won’t back down from calling him out on it. I know that’s not a popular view here, and I don’t expect you to agree, but I stand by it.
