Nope… more I’ve spent my fair share of time walking through bat crap and roaches… the places you have to crawl are usually pretty free of ‘active’ bat droppings and live roaches, but you do get it ‘tracked’… under those circumstances, you get to the stage you KNOW that if if someone says ‘that tastes of crap’ it’s not bat, cos nothing tastes like that except bat crap.

I’ve not been on the receiving end of fruit bat crap, but assumed the Chiroptera metabolism would be pretty much kicking out a lot of NH3 across the range…

Oooo, bad move. We have some big bats down here – no-nonsense, BIG flying foxes (go behind name). They’re actually pretty harmless, and some nutters keep them as pets. Now, there’s a problem with animals that live hanging by their feet, and it involves potty-time. I’ve not heard of people shampooing their bat (which may be a euphemism for I know not what), so I run with the assumption that these people have absolutely no sense of smell.
Which may well explain why everyone is taking several steps back from this fella.
