I would like for one person to tell me where Obama stands on the war, education, energy, health care. And dont tell me the CHANGE is coming. Obama is a great speaker, none better in the spot light right now, and hes got millions of people listening, but the guy anit sayin nuthin!

Maybe if you would have actually listened to PRESIDENT OBAMA (that’s right) during the election, you would know where he stands. Or better yet if you wanted to know anything, why didn’t you go to an Obama office in your town, city or neighborhood and get some literature. YOu are obviously a right winger and your type disgust me. You see things one way and think that everyone else is wrong. That simply disgusts me! You need to take a few steps back take your head out of your ass and pay attention to what is going on.

I think you should take into account what other countries think, for the US is just one of many countries on Earth. I’m not saying that just because the world wanted Obama that it was reason enough to give him the job, rather that it should just be another thing you take into consideration before voting.

Similarly, if the US hated Kevin Rudd, that is not telling me I must vote for him , rather that international opinion (including whose opinion that is) is a factor I must take into consideration before the next federal election.

Rho, partly I think. It depends on what type of policy it is. For example, it generally takes 4 years for economic changes to come around where as foreign policies tend to happen a lot quicker. OTOH, environmental policies can sometimes take a decade if it’s radical enough.

I don’t know, Eds. It depends a lot on the type of policy, don’t you think?
Domestic ~, foreign ~, energy ~, environmental ~, and economic policies
can hardly *all* need the same amount of time to take hold, right?

haven’t really cared about politics between major elections seem to be
the most vocal about blaming whoever happens to be the opposition for
whatever happens to be wrong at the moment.

My favorite instance was when someone recently claimed that the seeds
for the current economic melt-down took hold in the Carter administra-
tion. Even the righties laughed at that one!

Actually, if you track it, the policies that the sitting president enacts usually take 4 years to come to fruition. So, all of the bad things that Bush did, actually occured after he took office and put his policies in place. This isn’t a hard and fast rule, but in general it’s pretty accurate.

I actually have a point to question. Why is that when something goes wrong and the new President says it was a problem from the last President, it is Ok if the new one is Republican and the old is Democrat, but not the other way around?

Some many said that the Bush II administration had to deal with all of Clinton’s mistakes, AND that Clinton did so well because of the Bush I administration before it.

For my life, There has only been eight years where a Bush has not been in office.
How can it be that the Democrats are all at fault when they have barely been in office?

How many here are willing to bet that if President Obama DOES fix anything, it will be because of something Bush II did? However, if things get worse, it will be because President Obama was a failure. STILL, there is no scenario where the Republicans can ever be at fault.

Must be nice to write the damn rules about what is or is not a fault or failure.

As if this will even make a dent.

Most importantly, we have a federal govt. from FDR that has “created jobs” and controling a wily capitalism, that the govt. has control in the profit and who benefits? If a govt. can offer so much and in turn do so by having the power to take all that you have,then our issues are much greater than our lobbyists controlling foreign policy. Or is it the same jokers that are educating our kids keeping us ignorant by preoccupying us with virtual war games and invisible money? The problem I have with people in politics is they know they are in the limelight and should pay better to get better researched subjects instead of speaking out of their ass. But maybe that is their way of making us delve into reading and finding out more to become more aware. It is our time to act on so many things. Lobbyist are groups of people that can influence the right people. The more we talk and insist on being heard the more something will get done! But Hillary needed to be there. She has been there and if we needed a change it is to have the bosom of a warrior flapping in this wind. I wish all great hope, because only in America can we be free.

Although I have to say that I still :heart: this pic. After the last eight years and especially the last several months of the economy trying to visit Davy Jones’ Locker it’s reassuring to know that our Commander in Chief can truly say “I got this.” And the F-bomb fits IMO as it’s the perfect response to some of the weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth that I’ve had for so long.
