I don’t know what’s up with the voting process lately. The last 3 I’ve submitted have never (as far as I can tell) shown up on the voting page. Of course, I can’t say I remember seeing this one, either…but I would only have seen it long enough to go “Huh?…Fail…” so it’s possible I just don’t remember it.

I think LOLs (and charts) this bad keep making it to the front page because people are voting them through just because they “get” the reference, even if it’s not funny or there are major flaws in spelling, grammar, and format.
This is a Dana Carvey reference…in his newest comedy show he makes fun of Cheney calling him a penguin and making the ‘waak waak’ noise.
and apparently 3 people have seen this comedy routine.
I know, my initial response to that was “Huh…Dana Carvey’s still working? Well, good for him, I guess.” I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen him on TV or anything.
I was almost going to say “What? He’s still alive?”, but I bet that would have offended someone – I bet he has at some time in his career worn something resembling a military uniform, so it’d just be TOO SooON.

But now I did.
A little IMDB research shows that he apparently did an HBO special last summer, which was the first thing he’s done since 2002. I really don’t even remember seeing it advertised, though.
Now that I looked at that and saw what he looks like today, I am sure I spotted him being interviewed on one of the talkshows during the last year or so. I’d forgotten about that.
The Force is WEAK with this one…
Or alternately, the Fail is strong.

You know what? I made this, and *I* think it’s weak. I have no idea how this made it to the front page. I’ve done a bazillion lols, most of them much funnier than this, that haven’t made it. But this one did. I’m as puzzled as you. And why did I make this one? I dunno. It popped into my head. What can I say?

I believe that periodically the lols that make it to the voting page are mostly made of fail, as the saying goes, and during those periods anything that doesn’t stink tends to get at least “skip” votes instead of “fail” votes, with a few “wins” pushing them over the competitive edge (which is blunt when so many other lols get straight fails). So, some days a lol will do good just because it’s the best one out there.
My theory, that is.
Haven’t seen the comedy routine. But one must believe one is “laughing to keep from crying”
