  1. Realdef says:

Heh, nice one. Though I can’t tell who that is. That’s not Chavez, is it?

  2. slaggingham says:

Fake a coup against yourself win!

    • PortlandMark says:

I assume you are referring to the US backed coup in 2002? [LINK] for one article about that coup.

      • PortlandMark says:

        [LINK]

And another to link Bush with the attempted coup.

So, really, you’re just another Bush apologist trying blow a little smoke, right?

        • Valdrax says:

Links are broken. Also, please don’t accuse people of being Bush supporters just because they don’t buy into every theory that ties his hands to something nasty going on in the world. It just makes you look bad when you immediately insult or call into question the loyalties and biases of anyone who disagrees with your premise. I can’t stand the man, but I think it’s unlikely his administration had anything to do with the coup, stench of failure notwithstanding.

        • Charlene says:

There was a failed 2002 coup in Egypt? Because that’s Mubarek, not Chavez.

  3. deadrepublican says:

Pretty sure that’s Hosni Mubarak, president of Egypt.

    • DaYaoiFan says:

      Yes, yes it is.

      • PortlandMark says:

I’m pretty sure it’s Hugo Chavez. Please to click name and see what you think.

      • PortlandMark says:

Hopefully, PK ate my post suggesting that I’m pretty sure it’s Chavez. Now that I see the photo of Mubarak, I think they should be a “separated at birth” joke.

        • Valdrax says:

Dude, not even close. Mubarak has a much more square jawline (and overall head-shape) and his nose is twice as wide. Chavez also has more of an “M” shape to his upper lip, whereas Mubarak is a bit more flat and froggy looking. Even when he was younger and less… jowly.. he doesn’t really share much with Chavez — just skin color, hair-do, eyebrows, and ears.

I just don’t see it at all. You sure as heck couldn’t pull of a Jabba joke with Chavez. He’s too young and not fat for that to work.

  4. Moran says:

Looks like Mubarak to me, too.

  5. KaBooM says:

Whoever it is this caption is golden!

  6. Sesoron says:

Bonus: somebody finally spelled “wookiee” right on the first go! It probably didn’t need to be capitalized, but at least it has the right number of the right kind of letters in the right order.

  7. ubr says:

literal – told you it would be up next…

  8. The Sphinx says:

    It’s Hosni Mubarak for sure

  9. lowly grunt says:

    Where’s Princess Leia?

  10. Pugiron says:

I’d like to echo the cry for a shot of Slave Girl Leia

  11. NinjaPacman says:

STAR WARS FUNNY. My joy knows no bounds.

  12. Largos says:

it’s hosni mubarak, the president of egypt!
    100%

    • Martha says:

Please, how can you folks tell, you who claim it’s Chavez or Mubarak?

Yup, “separated at birth,” it seems, Portland Mark.

The only differences I can use to distinguish them either don’t show in this photo (temple hairline, lip shape, ear formation) to compare to other photos I’ve found — or the other sites’ photos don’t show the bump on the right of the nose.

      • Soap says:

1 – Hosni has straight hair, as does the man in this photo, whereas Chavez has the wave going on.
2 – Hosni looks damn good for going on 81 years of age.

        • Dr Techie says:

Chavez and Mubarak don’t look THAT much alike: check some online pictures. If you’re just not that good at facial recognition, there’s an easy way to tell that this is Mubarak. Chavez has a mole on his right forehead.

          • Ms. Valit says:

“right forehead”? he has two foreheads?
kidding, of course. i know you meant the right side of the forehead.

      • Martha says:

Wow, I thought I had good resolution on this screen — but I can’t really tell whether this photo shows straight or wavy hair.

In trying to compare their images, I used Google images (which I haven’t found always to be accurate!). Was trying to account for differences in lighting, clothing, angles, expressions, etc. Also I couldn’t make the Google images very large (apart from clicking on “see full-size image.”

        Thanks for your ideas.

  13. Leslie says:

Looks like it’s this pic only it’s been altered

  15. Moe says:
