And while I agree that the two-party system can leave a lot to be desired, I also realize that it probably won’t change any time soon.

I don’t think it invalidates elections.

The two party system is not mandated by law, it has happened because of natural forces within the public sphere, not the least of which is apathy.

That being said, Obama won by a few percentage points, same as G.W. Bush. It wasn’t a “landslide” victory with just “anyone” beating the Republicans. It was a duly elected man fighting hard to win a tough election with some of the highest interest we’ve seen in a while.

Sorry to let you all know but Obarmy can’t really be considered to be the true president of the united states. He is merely the elected head of the party who won. Thanks to the crap way that American Elections happen, you only have 2 parties (OK, you might have a third party, but that never ever wins anything and really only basically is a waste of money for the person who stands on a third party ticket) And in the current state of things with the peoples hatred of both Bush and the Republicans, ANYONE could have won for the democrats, even a gorilla wearing a dress could have won. It was really a no-brainer for Obarmy to win. If he had actually lost then he would have had to consider what to do since no one in the climate that there was then, could have lost. So until he wins a second election he can only really be considered to be the leader of the party that won, not the President. Sad but true. You americans really need to get yourself a more representative democracy. Two parties in a country prove nothing in an election in which the losing side is so hated and despised that it would practically be impossible for the winning party to have lost.

I will tell you it’s the very first thing that came to mind when I saw the dress. I don’t know how you could look at that dress and not think it. I also thought the dress was ugly, but people don’t come to me for their fashion advice.

That said, I don’t really care if they’re naked, in sackcloth and ashes, jeans an t-shirts or expensive clothes.
