Hope I’m not intruding but just wanted to add my condolences.
We just recently lost The Mighty Quinn, the most perfect
Husky boy who ever lived. He was a son and little brother
rolled into one. Your pain is shared on many levels.
Fester….the Kipling was felt deeply. I’m sure there is not a dog person who read it who was not reduced to the same blubbering mess that I was. Thanks. I’ll share it with the Mrs.

On the one hand you don’t want them to suffer but you feel so guilty saying, yes, now is the time to do it. My mom took my childhood dog to the vet to be put down when I was in high school. She said it was the only time she’d dropped him off at the vet where he tried to follow her out. I could have lived without knowing that, however.

Ya, I had been wise to hold my tongue when I had the urge to make comment about cleaner floors in the aftermath. I do value my balls still and did manage to learn sensitivity. Just glad I can avoid my more abrasive male urges, like being a dolt without wanting to be.

I am rather glad she was able to handle it but I will be on guard for the Judas phase. I am also making sure to keep my depression and reaction to it all out of it. Last thing Lynn needs is to having to endure my depressive nonsense and buggery because I am thinking too much about it all.

I just hate having pets die in general. Just feels like you failed somebody who depended on you. Luckily, I haven’t been in that position with a human relative though I don’t see my brain really feeling different either way.

And… Wow, this is getting drawn out and babbling.

Oddly enough, Lynn just needed a good day of comforting when I got home on Friday. We had game on Saturday so she had some fun. The boys both kitty and human have loved on her a decent amount and I made sure to be available for whatever listening and cuddling she required. So it went alright. I know she misses her still but she also knows that it was easier for her to see Socks die than it was to watch her suffer in the last couple days so that helped.
