    Family Guy reference FTW

  2. Siava says:

    Finally, a funny one! :D

    • The L says:

Not if you know what’s going on. On Good Friday, Catholic churches cover ALL religious statues with red cloth, including the crucifix. Something to do with the blood of Jesus, I guess. So yeah, I’m not Catholic anymore, but I still don’t think this is funny. It’s just plain idiotic.

  3. Wolvie says:

Allah has been replaced by a steaming camel turd.

  4. Jessie says:

    Yay punditkitchen is funny again!

    *rofl* It was about time!

I was SO hoping this one would make it! So funny!

  7. nogood says:

    Don’t mess with the Jesus!

  8. Jenn says:

Very funny… yes. However by providing the video makes it a fail. When something has to be explained why it’s funny… it just loses it’s cool, and funny factors.

Praise wacky-waving-inflatable-arm-flailing-tube-man! Oh Lordy, praise wacky-waving-inflatable-arm-flailing-tube-man!

  10. ladykitteh says:

We’ve replaced the figure of Christ with a wacky-waving-inflatable-arm-flailing-tube-man. Let’s see if they notice.

  11. sugarfish says:

Good for a smile… but my curiosity overwhelms: Is there a name for those wacky-waving-inflatable-arm-flailing-tube-men? I mean, when someone orders one for a promotion campaign, what do they enter for the item name?

They’re definitely attention-grabbers. First time I ever saw one, I very nearly veered off the road. I can laugh about it– now…. :)

  12. Jelly says:

I hate to kill the joke but that is just the crucifix covered with a drape, which has been that way since Good Friday. They will remove it on Pentacost, which is May 31st.

  13. Catholicgirl says:

Uh…they uncover it ON Good Friday. They don’t leave it covered until Pentecost.

  14. n8 says:

Hah! Well, at least the WWIAFTM is real…

  15. :D says:

  16. Scott says:

And we’re passing on the savings to youuuuuuuuuuuu!

  17. Eric-in-STL says:

I can’t pass a WWIAFTM without thinking about Family Guy anymore. LMAO

  18. lowly grunt says:

Hey, what happened to the nesting?

  19. @lowly: The reply buttons have gone on vacation, or are possibly being held hostage by a disgruntled PK admin; therefore we have no nesting today.

  20. Anniee451 says:

No reply buttons at all. First time that’s happened. I think this is hilarious, and even if I hadn’t seen Family Guy I would still think it’s hilarious because we’ve all (or most of us) seen those wacky inflatable arm-flailing tube men and they ARE funny – it would still be funny for the same reason the Family Guy joke was funny – because those things are funny, and it’s such a literal name for them, that it’s brilliant. I will always have fond memories of my mother-in-law and I driving past a giant arm-flailing-tube-man that was out in front of a local Hess and she, then I, would laugh and laugh so hard at that thing. But yeah, this is a really good one and it’s annoying that anyone had to get p*ssy about it because it’s not offensive to me as a Christian and I get offended pretty easily on that score. Yoris’ comment was offensive and some of the other anti-religious comments were. No need to MAKE it offensive when it isn’t, on its own.

  21. hyper says:

    this. epically. WINS.

  22. rws says:

Show a pair and start making fun of Allah for a change. You’re a bunch of hypocrites

    • charro says:

Can we get a reference for that please?

    • PortlandMark says:

hyp·o·crite Listen to the pronunciation of hypocrite
      Pronunciation:
      \ˈhi-pə-ˌkrit\
      Function:
      noun
      Etymology:
Middle English ypocrite, from Anglo-French, from Late Latin hypocrita, from Greek hypokritēs actor, hypocrite, from hypokrinesthai
      Date:
      13th century

1 : a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion 2 : a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings
      — hypocrite adjective

      • Anniee451 says:

Yeah, they’re not hypocrites, rjw; they pretty much openly support socialism, mockery and disdain for Christianity, and a certain defensiveness of Islam at times. So call them what you will, but hypocrite doesn’t quite fit, does it? :)

        • AC says:

*Christian kinda-socialist has difficulty understanding why you add socialism in with anti-Christian things*

          • Anniee451 says:

Frankly, that’s a subgroup I despise more than almost any other; I don’t mention it often. You’ll find a majority of hard leftists are anti-Christian – on this very site you will find it referred to, unremarked by the rest, as a mental illness in and of itself to be a Christian.

            • Seth says:

Real Christians are leftists. Christian values and socialist values are the same values: taking care of the less fortunate, sharing, disregard for materialism, I could go on and on. Frankly I don’t understand how anyone can be a real Christian and not a leftist.

              • AC says:

Thank you! I can understand that not everyone was raised hearing “capitalist” as a bad word, but still, how on earth is the love of money Christian?

                • Anniee451 says:

You do realize Seth is a staunch atheist who deigns to declare what is and isn’t Christian, right?

People who try to justify the moral abomination that is socialism using the scriptures (by twisting them into pretzels) repel me, but none more so than those who claim to BE Christians who should know better.

                  • AC says:

Seth is an agnostic. Also, he is speaking the truth -that wouldn’t change whether he was Buddhist, atheist, Christian or Zoroastrian. I, personally, think capitalism is a moral abomination. How can you justify that with scriptures?

                    • Anniee451 says:

Seth is an unbeliever. You pretended to speak as a believer. But you lied. I expect little more from those who claim to be Christians but use it to further a socialist agenda – par for the course. Goodbye.

              • I’m all in favor of helping the less fortunate and sharing; I just think it should be on a voluntary basis and not mandated by government authority.

                • Anniee451 says:

Yep. As per the constitution and all our founding documents and fathers. Sad that that is now a “revolutionary” thought when it was the impetus behind the original revolution.

            • AC says:

You despise us? Here, in Scotland, there are plenty of us to be found, although Christians as a whole are a much, much smaller group… But then, the right wing isn’t very popular here. (Actually a county not so far from me elected a member of the communist party) And, honestly, Christian hating isn’t consigned to “hard leftists.” You’ll find it anywhere, regardless of the political situation. The first few years of high school, I was picked on for it by a load of intolerant fools who’d probably go in the bigoted, racist, homophobic category were they on this site…

              • I read her post as she despises the type of people who refer to Christianity as a mental illness, but it’s been a loooong week so it’s possible I’m reading it wrong.

            • Using an invisible sky father to wage wars and hinder equality for centuries as a mental illness? Perish the thought.

Faith is fine when it only affects the person having the faith. It is when the faith is being used as a cudgel to beat ideas onto others that it drunkenly stumbles into the whole “teh crazies” category.

              • Anniee451 says:

There you go AC – your “invisible sky-father”, you alleged Christian. Does that bother you or not? I suspect not, which tells me far more than I need to know about YOU.

                • froofrou says:

And once again Anniee demonstrates her utter disdain and hatred for anyone not as Christian as she. What she fails to consider is that everyone has different experiences to bring to the table which might cause a slightly different take on the situation. But of course, if you don’t toe her line, you are wrong. Period. And anyone who disagrees is a liar and an atheist.
                  -
Anniee, the original church was completely socialist in nature. It was a commune where all shared all. Go back and read the book of Acts. Having said that, I do not personally believe that Christianity and conservative capitalism are mutually exclusive, but knowing the set up of the early church, I’m not about to invalidate the claims of socialism in the church by others.

                  • Anniee451 says:

Once again Frou shows her utter misunderstanding of everything that means anything. I don’t need to “go back”to read anything; it’s all burned solid, trust me. But for the umpteenth time you attack one of your alleged own in favor of your leftist overlords, and that won’t be missed. Kk? kk.

                    • Anniee451 says:

Hey, fecking genius: uke 22:35-38: Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” “Nothing,” they answered. He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. For it is written: ‘he was numbered with the transgressors’; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.” The disciples said, “See, Lord, here are two swords.” “That is enough,” he replied.

                      Jesus himself. Moron.

                      • Anniee451 says:

STOP ATTACKING EVERY CONSERVATIVE OR CHRISTIAN ON THE SITE YOU IDIOT.

                        • froofrou says:

As, Anniees drinking again. How cute. And I don’t attack every conservative , just the stupid drunk ones.

                      • What does that even mean? WTF.

                        • froofrou says:

It means that Anniee was drinking last night and can’t read in context. She’s just randomly quoting scripture and hoping it fights. On the other hand, I can quote her one back that fully supports socialism and depending on others for your daily bread. It’s a chess game, really, and Anniee forgot her queen at home.

                        • Anniee451 says:

Oh, froo, my queen is *never* at home but I don’t need a queen to win a game of chess, either. Give me a rook or a bishop and a knight (preferably a pawn as well) and checkmate is just around the corner.

                    • froofrou says:

You’re right. I’m really an evil liberal toadie in disguise. I only pretend to be a conservative in order to throw off the scent. I’m also not a Christian. I’m an atheist hindu with a pet elephant in the living room that I worship. Now that we have that cleared out of the way, can we continue with the froo-bashing, as it seems to be all you’re capable of?

                      -
Now, if you’ll be so kind as to explain how an organization that lives, eats, sleeps, and worships together, shares the common food and money with all the members from a comMon fund, and collects for the widows and orphans isn’t coMmunist in nature, I’d love to hear it. Please, enlighten me with you wisdom that is clearly greater than mine.

                      • Anniee451 says:

Because it’s voluntary and NOT engineered by the federal government. This is not a theocracy, neither is the church a government entity. THAT’S why. Jesus, is this really rocket surgery?

                • AC says:

Of course it bothers me.. but I hear worse every single day. I don’t preach to everyone I see who is an atheist and I don’t get aggressive whenever someone says something that hurts me. Unbelievers will find out the truth of the matter when the time comes.
There’s a time for preaching and arguing, but you can’t do it forever. I try to act like a Christian 24/7 and I make mistakes but I think trying to set an example is the best way to go about things. I don’t understand how capitalism can be moral but I can understand that there are moral capitalists. The reason I know this? Uncompromisingly Christian, fair people like Froo who actually act Christian.

                  • froofrou says:

Don’t worry about her, AC. She’s got a very narrow view of Christianity, Conservatism, and every other ideal she holds dear. That doesn’t make her wrong about what she believes, but it does make her rather difficult to deal with. She also seems to have an empathy problem, and refuses to put herself into the shoes of others to see *why* the think the way they do. In her mind, if you disagree with the Bible, with Conservatism, or with whatever her issue of the day is, you’re wrong. Period.
                    -
And I appreciate the compliment :-) I truly admire you for being so young, yet so hardcore in your beliefs. It’s a difficult thing to do, and I respect you greatly for being wiling to put them out there so freely. *hugs* :-)

                    • Anniee451 says:

Wide is the path that leads to hell and many find it, straight and NARROW is the path to heaven, and few find it. Them’s the breaks.

                      • AC says:

Narrow is true but it is very easy to stray from that path and discussion and the thoughts of other Christians can be very useful in helping you stay on it.

                    • AC says:

                      *Hugs back*
Thanks for being in the thread: you always do improve a discussion.
I don’t think politics should interfere with religion. You and I believe different things politically but are the same in religion. I don’t like the way Anniee has allowed herself to be divided from a fellow Christian because of a matter of politics. Churchwise it isn’t healthy methinks…

                  • Anniee451 says:

I don’t proselytize either. But neither do I allow atheists to tell me what Christianity is, not when they have no real understanding of it. In the cases where they DO have understanding of it, or at least respect for it, I listen. And yes I am harshest in issues of Christianity with those who claim the title; that is as it should be – we can’t tell the world how to live but we are absolutely commanded to judge inside the church. Paul was mighty in mercy but he was also pretty ruthless and that’s just how it is.

                    • AC says:

In the cases where they DO have understanding of it, or at least respect for it, I listen.
Evidently, we disagree on Seth’s understanding of Christianity. I think it’s fair to say that disrespecting other’s beliefs is not really Seth’s thing. It might be wise to listen to him.

                    • froofrou says:

                      1st Corinthians 1:12-13

“Now I mean this, that each of you is saying “I am of Paul,” and “I am of Apollos,” and “I of Cephas,” and “I of Christ.” Has Christ been divided? Paul was not crucified for you, was he? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

Do not invoke the name of Paul to me when you clearly have. I understanding of the compassion and empathy of Christ. He turned no One away except those using His name in vain.

  23. Jade says:

He’s way more believable that way.. :D

  24. elle says:

Wow, this is why I love forums. How fantastic to go from arm flailing tube men, to a debate about socialism and christianity lol.
Oh, and for my point of view, on the socialism thing… personally, I really like that I can go to the hospital/doctor, any time of day or night, and know that my care wont be based on how much money I have in the bank, and that if my house is on fire, or my home is being robbed, I can call upon emerency services without having to give them my credit card details over the phone. That when I have children, I can send them to a public school and know that they are still going to get a great education. Now I may be that way because I’m Australian, and not American, and haven’t had it beaten into me throughout my life that socialism is the work of the devil, but seriously, I kinda like it ;)

    • Anniee451 says:

“That when I have children, I can send them to a public school and know that they are still going to get a great education.”

BWahahahaha! Oh, I unsubscribed to this thread already but I took a peek back and this? This! Bwahahahaha!

On a serious note, commie, “We all declare for liberty; but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others, the same word may mean for some men to do as they please with other man, and the product of other men’s labor. Here are to, not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same name – liberty. And it follows that each of the things is, by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names – *liberty* and *tyranny.* Abraham Lincoln.

Keep your brand of tyranny. We don’t want it here.

      • AC says:

So Australians who like their country are “commies” now…. What did you call the Soviet union, then? And have you ever been to Australia, have you ever attended and been able to judge their public schools? I think Elle is a better judge of her country’s education system than you are.
And tyranny? So what, you have to share with the great unwashed masses? You get a decent education but it’s from everybody’s money and is accessible to everyone? And that’s a bad thing? Jings, I thought the class war was long over…

        • Nope, the “Christians” believe that God favors the rich as that is why they are rich. God also favors those who seek to buy their way into heaven upon the backs of others.

They think it is a game with a clear winner. They also think that loathing thy neighbor is a way to God. So if God is love but they harbor no love, how can they honestly believe to know God? Even when they talk about their families, it is under the idea of “What’s mine is mine” rather than love of another human being.

It is why I avoid religion but hold the idea of faith. Something is out there, sure, but don’t think you will ever get me to believe that it can be found in a building filled with people playing a game.

          • AC says:

It seems every generation has its Pharisees… Of course, niether of us are qualified to speak about this since you are teh unbeliever and I’m lying about my faith to further the cause of socialism… (Sorry, to drag that in but I found that particularly nasty)
But don’t completely give up on us worshippers in groups: I suppose humans were meant to make communities and gain and learn and benefit from them. I really value my church because it is a community and a family and I don’t thing the faith of all the people in it could survive this long without connecting this way.
(And it’s not the building: my favourite service of the year is held on a muddy, marshy hillside. (8am, Easter Sunday :) ))

            • Well, I am technically an unbeliever of people in groups but your point remains.

              • Seth says:

So you don’t believe in individual rights then? Because rights only come from people in groups. People alone do not have rights, they have power. Rights derive from agreements between people in groups. Without the group, it is absurd to even speak of rights, because you need to base your assertion of rights on some unprovable principles that others may not share. Put another way, if you are by yourself and someone wants to kill you, screaming about your rights won’t help. You either have the power to fight them off, or you don’t.

                • Yes, I obviously made a political jump while discussing religion.

Granted, I understand that you are still on a kick from flicking about with Dhoti but I am not going to bother getting into a drawn out discussion with you since you decided to tell me my argument and then argue against it.

I am glad that you could outdebate yourself though it was my own fault for not making sure to clarify for those not reading what AC and I were discussing to get comprehension of my post.

  25. elle says:

Call it tyranny if you shall, and call me a commie, what do I care. If that means I get all of what I mentioned above then I will shout it from the rooftops gladly.
Far be it from me to try to change anyone’s opinion, I was just sharing mine, and think of it what you will. But as AC said, unless your statements regarding the Australian Public education system are based on some knowledge and experience, I’d refrain from commenting.
Why dont you take a good look at all of the countries who are quite happily running socialised health care, education etc etc, and see how they compare with your own services. Then once you’ve done that, form your own opinion, quit spatting out archaeic quotes from long dead presidents who were around before women were even allowed a vote, and then if you still have the same opinion, well at least it will be truly yours.

  26. elle says:

Oh, and I thought I should point out, that you, who “claims” and yes I used the word claims, to be a Christian, would have such a problem with socialist ideas, and quote such a classist remark. Does the phrase do unto others as you would have done unto you have absoluely no meaning to you whatsoever? Would you rather allow ppl to die in a business orientated health care system such as America’s? Which does nothing but help the rich get richer? You woud think that someone with such strong Christian ideals as yourself (and yes, I am being sarcastic again), would prefer everyone to be given the same treatment, regardless of wealth, or position in society. So you can quote from the bible as much as you like Anniee, because your true self comes through in every single one of your posts, and I have to tell you, it doesn’t seem very Christian to me.

    • AC says:

Don’t get too worked up over Anniee. She doesn’t really like anyone on this site so you’ll be attacked sometime regardless of the fact that you wrote a very sane and not at all inflammatory post.

      • elle says:

Thanks AC :) and yeah, I figured that was the situation lol.

And though I know that what I say wont make the slightest difference, I just felt like putting my two cents worth in ;)

  27. Bizy says:

I am sorry, but please…have some respect…why is it that “Politcal Correctness” is never applied to Catholics?
