I always remember Karl Urban as the guy who played Caesar on Xena. Yes, I *am* that big of a nerd. He was also in Doom. The actor with a bit part in the new Star Trek that made me squeal was Paul McGillion as the officer telling everyone which ships they were assigned to at the start of the movie. the big issue with Swine Flu isn’t the fact that it’s severe or not. The issue is that it’s completely out of season. Follow back to the 1912 flu that was so devastating and you’ll notice a similar trend – the initial outbreak (out of season) was mild and mostly ignored, then flu season came around, the flu mutated and swapped genetic information with another flu virus and we had the pandemic of doomyness of 1912.

Not that that’s going to happen, but they’re concerned it’s a potentiallity, especially when the swine flu virus, which already has aspects of human, swine and bird flu in it, will merge with either the H1N5 (bird flu) or a more virulent H1N1 (“generic” seasonal flu virus).

Anyway, just felt like sharing. Check out the CDC or WHO sites for more information that’s not skewed by the media.

“Spaced” had it’s moments, but it wasn’t a thighslapper. The best part about having seen it is getting another joke from “Shaun of the Dead” that had escaped me: the girl he runs into three times, who actually saves her friends and family? She’s his roommate from “Spaced”, and the bit is a joke about how she got her stuff together and Shaun is still a slacker loser.
