sounds like one of my sisters hubbies – took him out bird-hunting one fall – he was bragging he could shoot the head off the pheasant — and he sure enough did- that was the only part of the bird we found, he’s never lived that one down after 40+ yrs. never thought about asking if he was going to mount the proof of his accuracy… bit late now i suppose.

I guess it ain’t easy getting any kind of alcohol in a strict Muslim country- Muslims being very strict tee-totalers and all. I guess you get stuck with non-alcoholic or “near-beer” crap.

Maybe next time somebody from base gets to go to Ramstein Air Base or any other base in Germany, they can ship some back…

tell me about it. I can see me turning to my brothers-in-law and nephews and say, “well, it was kinda blurry, so I shot at the deer on the right. Wrong one, ‘parently; real one was on the left.”

Interesting side note- one of my nephews bagged himself a buck, and a chicken. With the same shot. They were hunting on a farm, and the chicken wandered out to where chickens shouldn’t be and paid for it. I was very impressed, but his daddy and I teased him until he got very annoyed. I was saying things like “are you mounting the head of that one on the wall? It’s gotta be at least a 6 pointer, comb-wise.”

1. He could have been “renditioned” by the CIA, so he wouldn’t know for sure where he was at.

2. He was on a secret mission and forgot he wasn’t supposed to spill the beans so he’s backtracking.

3. After AK-47 fire fights, mortar rounds dropping around you and going “Boom”, RPG’s hitting your Hummer and going “Boom”, I.E.D.s going “Boom” along every road and trail, I sure as hell would try to forget that mess as quickly as possible.

4. Being deployed, pulled off the line for leave, deployed again, etc. and so on, I would forget how many damn trips in a C-130 I took and all the places dee plane took my heinie.

Give brother jmr a break. If he was in that neck of the woods, I do think he deserves it (or her, possibly, can’t tell by the initials and if I’m wrong I do apologize.)
