  1. Jane St.Clair says:

    Yeah, me too.

    • mothergoose says:

      me three!

      • AC says:

… And me… It’s why I turned up on PK in the first place…

        • mothergoose says:

          Still bored, AC? Here…have a video…my first ever Scottish crush was on Eric…{link}

          • Eric-in-STL says:

            I’m not Scottish.
Oh wait, you’re not talking about me. Nevermind.
            *storms off grumbling*

          • AC says:

They were Scottish? I didn’t know that… You learn something new every day…
You may find this video (linky) useful if you want to “parliamo Glasgow”…

            • Vila Restal says:

Err… Yes the Bay City Rollers were indeed Scottish. Didn’t the Tartan and the funny accents give you a hint :-) (I remember the sister of my friend next door when I was about 7 or 8 used to be a fan of the Bay City Rollers)

              • paws4thot says:

I’m pleased to say that I wasn’t, but I have memories of lots of my classmates trying to look cool in badly cut blue trousers with tartan trim that were about 5 inches too short for them!! :D

              • AC says:

 I’m too young to have seen them… I only know their name.
And funny accent? What funny accent? ;)

                • paws4thot says:

I’m from Glasgow; they’re from Edinburgh. That funny accent! ;)

                  • AC says:

Ah, I thought you were from Aberdeen… (I thought “furryboot” and “quine” were kind of Aberdonian)
I’m from right between the two cities, so I think you both have funny accents.

                    • paws4thot says:

                      I’ve got your drift.

Furryboots , Quine etc are Doric words or phrases, which is basically an Aberdeenshire dialect these days yes, but is technically a separate language in its own right, just like Scots and Lallans are. All 3 of them share characteristics with English, but are not the same language.

Don’t risk starting me on a rant about how Gaelic is not the only language other than English that Scots have a heritage in though!

                      • AC says:

So why is a Glaswegian speaking Doric, hmm?

                        • paws4thot says:

For practice, the same as I have to practice French and German.

                        • AC says:

 When she worked in the BBC, the Glaswegians and Aberdonians made my mother the interpreter between the two groups. I just thought it funny that a difference of a few dozen miles can produce accents so incomprehensible to one another.
Also, I have to apologise to you. The other day I blamed the Aberdonians for the sheep-shaggers reputa

                        • AC says:

                          …hmm…
                          Continued:
..tion that Scotland has and said that (based on your accent) I thought you were among them…

                        • paws4thot says:

Now I’m offended; it’s the Welsh who’re the sheep-shaggers, not the Scots!! ;)

                        • James the Conquerer says:

I thought that was the exclusive behavior of Montanans.

                        • AC says:

Apparently, you don’t see any sheep in the fields in Aberdeen because they have been evacuated for their own safety or are in closets….
Or so, everyone in my town says…

                        • paws4thot says:

That makes it sound a bit like you’re from Perth? Nothing against the Fair Maid’s town except the number of hours I spent trying to get through it before the bypass went in. Anyone who thinks bypasses all cause traffic and don’t aleviate suffering in town centres should have to visit Perth and Newbury (Berkshire)!

                        • AC says:

                          Nope. I’m a Falkirk bairn. :)

                        • Jane St.Clair says:

The preceding thread brought to you by the Scottish Board of Tourism. ;)

  2. Hope says:

    It’s the North Korean army.

  3. Sarah of Philadelphia says:

So, there’s this wallpaper in the Worcester Art Museum in Massachusetts, made of a million teeny-tiny dots… and each dot… if you look REEEELY close… is a unique photo of a member of the Chinese military.
    It’s rather poetic. Poor Bastards.

Oh well, can’t complain about 3 square meals and good exercise.
    – Good luck, boys!

  4. HellHathNoFury says:

    Mitosis at it’s best?

  5. frogband12 says:

    Win.

  6. Keith Nelson says:

It’s either the North Korean, Chinese, or Team Fortress, it’s hard to tell…

    • Teh_Juggernaut says:

Actually, I think this might be a commentary on how the mods feel about the lols being produced and voted to the top by you guys…
      Just my 2¢…

  7. Phaelin says:

The best PK has to offer? The hell?

  8. judson says:

This is the semi centennial intergalactic paintball Supersplat division winning green army from the terrestrial Pacific rim. The red army has not yet landed but we expect them to come blasting through the worm hole any moment now. This promises to be quite a contest folks!

  9. jl5691426 says:

Whether it’s DPRK or PRC, the premise is the same – enforcing the dictatorship of the proletariat has to be a drag.

  10. MK1K says:

    This isn’t funny >_>

  11. X says:

Could have done a shout out to The Far Side and had him singing “I Gotta be Me!”

  12. Spider says:

    *insert Robot referrence here*

  13. BlueGuitar says:

That’s the North Korean Army. 100% sure.

  14. flip says:

It’s the Barnum and Baily Clown Army.

    Be afraid. Clowns kill.

  15. H3xx says:

Hmmm, Boredom and rocket launchers. why do i get the feeling that this wont end well.

  16. H3xx says:

    When I die, I don’t want a 21 gun salute.

    I want a 21 RPG salute!!! :D

  17. hunnysuckle says:

    Yes, North Korea!!

  18. Meh says:

I preferred the one that referenced pink floyd.

  19. shadowdancer21b says:

Not 100% sure, but those look like North Korean uniforms

  20. Kevin says:

With they’re massive guns they attempt to compensate for their insanely small penis’

  21. Sinatra says:

trying very hard not to reference to erections D:

  22. master baiter says:

Make for war Glorious Nation Kazahstan Of!
You wallies.. North Korea, my foot.

  23. Patrick says:

These are north koreans. You can see it because of the uniform’s color and design. Also, them north koreans are crazy, so, you can see the first line of people holding, not guns, but RPG launchers

  24. Vila Restal says:

Actually!! So’s the second line. I just got a glance at one of the guy’s in the second line’s RPG. But whatever it’s an Asian army of some description. At least that narrows it down to a whole continent :-)

    • Andrea says:

All of them have RPGs, check the next few rows back. The odd one or two are holding their weapons slightly above regulation height.

  25. Minty says:

This will probably be a latepost, but oh well.
Being funny: you’re doing it wrong.

  26. DERP says:

CHINEEZ PPLZ GAWT ROKKITZ BUT I DUNT GIT NUN??

  27. uzigawa says:

    chinese i believe

  28. ispekkorea says:

it IS the DPRK Army actually, over their hearts is a pin of Kim Il Sung which all members of the nation are REQUIRED to wear

  29. Davidenko says:

I’d guess North Korean Army, but without a closeup of the insignia on their uniform, it’s hard to tell. It also could be China, or another Communist regime in ASia, probably Eastern Asia.

    • master baiter says:

Another communist regime? Which one would that be? I mean, apart from China and North Korea? Afghanistan, maybe? 25 years ago?

      • paws4thot says:

From the skin tones, facial shape, uniform colour and RPGs they must be Chinese or North Korean, but I agree with Davidenko; you’d need a better shot of their insignia to tell which.

  30. 061678 says:

This is the red star army i elieve or the “peoples republic”

  31. Farscape1370 says:

It is the North Korean Army

  32. Kelsey says:

North Korean. Although it looks like they’re doing that Russian dance, where they kick out a leg at a time.

  33. Veisdan says:

i’d be inclined to say that is the North Korean army.
other armies would not usually walk around with 1armed rpg per soldier in a parade. . .
    just saying

  34. Jim Heckel says:

North Korea, for sure – see the little red flag buttons on the left side of their uniforms? That’s the membership pin of the Korean Worker’s Party, and all soldiers belong to it.

  35. Sam says:

Almost certainly the Korean Peoples’ Army, from North Korea
