  1. maestro says:

Oh hey. There is my lousy state governor next to Obama.

  2. lunar says:

One is the current president of Munchkinland, and the other is running as the next president. Your governor is having difficulty telling the two apart.

  3. RushnGreen says:

“We represent the Lollipop Guild, the Lollipop Guild, the Lollipop Guild”

  4. Touretts says:

Hopefully, one of them will kick him in the crotch!

    • Igloo McCoy says:

Dude. Calm down. Idiocracy was a movie–it isn’t real.

      • Naqamel says:

        Idiocracy was a movie–it isn’t real.

Sure it is. How else can you explain anyone voting for Obama?
Fascism: It’s Change You Can Believe In.

(And for anyone who fails to see Fascism in Obama, I’ll submit the Government takeover of Chrysler and GM as evidence, followed by the attempted takeover of the entire health care industry.)

        • Aikidude says:

Fascism is about racial superiority and dictatorship. It has nothing to do with government takeovers.

          • morecowbell says:

you can’t retrofit meaning to a movement because of the outward appearance without considering the political and economic significance. especially within the context of the original post to which you’re referring.

          • Naqamel says:

            Fascism is about racial superiority

Not true. Hitler was about racial superiority, however, the architect of Fascism, Benito Mussolini, was not.

          • Igloo McCoy says:

AIkidude gets a gold star, although I don’t know if fascism necessarily HAS to have racial superiority. Nagamel, stop using big words that you obviously don’t know the meaning of to further (fuhrer?) your agenda. Read the [link] for a little bit more about fascism. And you think a movie is real so…. you’re a moron.
Besides, I thought you guys thought he was a Marxist Socialist.

            • Naqamel says:

Socialism and Fascism are two sides of the same Totalitarian Coin.

I’ll counter your non-functioning link and tell you to read “Liberal Fascism” by Jonah Goldberg, and mock you by saying if you don’t you’re not being very “open minded”.

              • mothergoose says:

                So….Obama’s a FASCIST??

                • Igloo McCoy says:

Jonah Goldberg? The same one who hates France and calls the French either “frogs” or “cheese-eating surrender monkeys?” The same one that things diversity is the same as racism?
Yeah I’m not even going to look at that book. Besides, Socialism isn’t Totalitarian by definition, even by execution sometimes. There are plenty of countries with socialist policies that aren’t totalitarian. Socialism isn’t communism.
                  [Darn links.]

              • Tre says:

Fascism, modern political ideology that seeks to regenerate the social, economic, and cultural life of a country by basing it on a heightened sense of national belonging or ethnic identity. Fascism rejects liberal ideas such as freedom and individual rights, and often presses for the destruction of elections, legislatures, and other elements of democracy. Despite the idealistic goals of fascism, attempts to build fascist societies have led to wars and persecutions that caused millions of deaths. As a result, fascism is strongly associated with right-wing fanaticism, racism, totalitarianism, and violence.

Please tell me what parts of that apply to the current discussion? (from MSN Encarta)

              • The Steve says:

Fascism is very different from Socialism and even Communism.

All humans are communist at our core. Before we managed to create cities and agricultural civilizations our survival depended on socialism. Food, shelter, and supplies were shared amongst all in the tribe for the greater good of the community.

Communism isn’t bad in it’s pure form, it just can’t exist in the form in today’s society because greed, corruption, and power hungry leaders destroy it by taking from the community and giving to themselves instead of the other way around.

            • morecowbell says:

gold star for a non sequitur?

i mean, i get that hitler was racist and all. but really? i mean, granted that obama did say that republicans were old, racist white guys…so he did have that going for him. but i don’t get the reference.

        • Eric-in-STL says:

          You’re a butt fungus.

        • subtlefuge says:

“(And for anyone who fails to see Fascism in Obama, I’ll submit the Government takeover of Chrysler and GM as evidence, followed by the attempted takeover of the entire health care industry.)”

          Sigh.

First off, government takeover of a private business can denote socialism or communism (depending primarily on what happens next), but it ain’t fascism. Just because fascists and communists were both Europeans who had funny hats, that doesn’t make them the same.

Second, you seem to be presenting the “takeover” of Chrysler and GM as something that occurred completely against the wishes of the respective companies. Let me ask you this: were you in a coma or hiding under a rock several months ago when the executives from both companies were testifying in front of Congress about how badly they needed the bailout?

Third, Obama is certainly not attempting a “takeover of the entire health care industry.” There is no Obama plan to takeover hospitals, doctors, or health product companies such as Johnson and Johnson, at least as far as I know. All I’ve heard is that there would be a public insurance option to compete with private insurance companies. What’s wrong with that?

          • Igor the Vigorous says:

            SILENCE!
LOGIC THERE IS NOT FOR NAQAMEL TROLL!
            Meheheh.
It doesn’t even matter anymore, man. He just doesn’t bother listening to facts.

          • Tessie says:

“the Government takeover of Chrysler and GM ”
            `
Setting aside for the moment the obvious logic fail of the above, which you debunked quite handily, what would you call the takeover of the government by corporations which has been ongoing since 1980 or thereabouts? [I'm looking at you, Halliburton, Enron, Microsoft, Brown & Root, et. al.]

  5. morecowbell says:

they didn’t show it, but he actually brought dunkin donuts

  6. Igloo McCoy says:

Who are those kids and why are they dressed like that? And what sort of country has traditional clothing where they tie a cake to your head?

  7. maestro says:

It’s the traditional costume of the Black Forest. You should have a look at the ridiculous hats of unmarried women (click name).

  8. brak says:

    Mmmmmm…..cake.

  9. Eric-in-STL says:

I’m pathetic. I had to look up who Angela Merkel is. ::hangs head in shame::

  10. SakeKitteh says:

That scene in Wizard of Oz was the scariest f–king thing I had ever seen. Yet I rewound it and watched it several times.
