Sure, I’ll correct you since you’re wrong (and you are). I’m not saying anything about our state of affairs currently, but in order for any kind of economy some currency must be spent, because for a business to stay open they need to buy new stock, and have new (or old) customers spending money. That logic is sound to anyone who can read and breathe at the same time.
Anyway, what you’re spouting is a generalization. Spending money you don’t have is a gamble, plain and simple. You are trying to gain money over the long run, but you don’t know whether your bets will come back over or under. We could, potentially, stand to make money, or we could make bad investments and have our economy just take more of a tumble. That said, I don’t trust any government to make good investments. Just because they’re governments. However, your first phrase annoyed me more than enough to explain it to you. Asking people for feedback and then showing how much of an asshat you are is not endearing. It just makes everyone hate how much of an asshat you are.

Stop criticizing the minute details instead of the issue. There are thousands of supporters on both sides that make grammar mistakes (especially young, idealistic Democrats who use MySpace and such). Maybe their making a reference to Micheal Steele stating that he, not limbaugh is the head of the repulican party(which if the president was republican, they would be the head of like reagan was), then limbaugh saying Micheal wasen’t a fit leader, and then Steele saying how he was “sorry” and that Limbaugh “Misunderstood him”. I’ve just noticed it in just about any thread where he’s mentioned. I think it mainly bothers me because it’s common for me to think what I read (it helps me slow down the reading so I hopefully don’t read too fast and miss half of what it says) and “Regan” changes my internal pronounciation of it so much I probably overreact.

… and, well, because I think it’s very nonchalant to not bother spelling people’s names right.

You are technically correct Igor; however, you have to make some assumptions in life. The court system is an example of that. People get convicted of murder but without making a judgement based on evidence you wouldn’t be able to convict anyone unless they admitted that they were guilty. This I know is an extreme example I am trying to apply to the LOL but the arguement that Regan is dead and we can never know if he would say this or not is technically correct but we can speculate, based on his past actions and beliefs that he would not say it.

I don’t think the Soviets were falling apart as such. Up to that point they were maintaining the status quo, what with the SALT talks that had been going on during the previous administrations. What Reagan did was step up the military spending, thus forcing the Soviets to try and keep up. Financially, they couldn’t with the end result of the Soviet Union folding.
