  1. laura register says:

I think this is the husband of a vet who were rescuing animals during katrina, it was a show on animal planet.

  2. Igor the Vigorous says:

I fail to see the funny.

    • Semperfidd says:

Ahhh..I think this was supposed to go under the Lolcats section.

      • Danbala says:

That’s a problem with the lol builders as they are today. You can’t choose which section your lol should go under, it all depends on where the photo happens to be.

I’ve refrained from making a few lols just because of that. (Not that that makes the world GO UNDER LIKE HITLER WAS EUGENISING IT or anything. ;p )

      • purdlemeow says:

This WAS under the LOLcats section… months ago, with a similar caption.

    • Buck Ofama says:

I fail to see the hero.

      • Sara says:

Because seeing humor requires functioning brain cells which you obviously lack.

        • HelOnWheels says:

Can’t see some thing that isn’t there. Well, unless the drugs are reaaalllllyyy good. Nope, even under the influence I don’t see any humor in this.

          • Yeah, this is really kinda dull. He saved a couple cats. Good for him. Hero is a word thrown around a lot. Cheapens things for true heroes. Like Spider-Man.

            • Ivan The Atheist says:

              Or Superman. Just sayin’.

            • HelOnWheels says:

No costume, no cape = NOT hero. One should always dress appropriately for the job.

              • froofrou says:

Capes are a bad idea. Did we learn nothing from “The Incredibles”, people?

                • the_original_shortright says:

i learned that really big people in little cars don’t mix well. so when i saw this 400lb butch woman in a smart car the other day, all i could think about was mr. incredible and his teeny tiny car.

                  • froofrou says:

I got cut off in traffic the other day by a car that I swear to you couldn’t have weighed more than 200lbs. It looked like that little car on the commercial with the rats riding in it (went blank on the name)….all of the little rats are grooving to the music because they are cooler than their other rat buddies in less cool cars…….only, the car was about half the size of the one in the commercial. It was a two-seater. It looked like a Segway with a top. And it cut me off as I drove my gas guzzling SUV. I think they wanted to die.

                    • ay dios mio says:

Suicide is too complicated now days. This sort of thing used to be civil. You write a note jump out a window downtown. DONE. Nice note to your family. Not much mess to clean up. Now these losers want to include damage to other’s vechicles? I should kill. . . oh, right.

                    • the_original_shortright says:

the soul? i love those commercials, but they do look like death mobiles.

i also drive a giant SUV (sue me) and have been cut off by smart cars going a good 15mph slower than me. it’s GOT to be a death wish… it’s a good thing i get my brakes checked regularly or else they’d basically just be a speed bump on my way into work.

                      • froofrou says:

That would be the car! Just imagine that car chopped in half at the doors with another set of wheels added. It looked like a cartoon. And the lady in the passenger seat looked terrified.

                        • the_original_shortright says:

                          one these things?
                          {http://www.ecogeek.org/images/stories/electric_smart_car.jpg}

personally, a convertible motorized shoebox would scare me shitless. the guy in the ad looks FAR too comfortable with his entire body mere moments away from being a smear on the pavement.

                        • the_original_shortright says:

                          **one of these things?

                        • viking gal says:

                          The smart car was the ONLY car to get a “good” rating in testing for roof strength. Considering how SUVs tend to be driven into flipping over, you would think the SUV manufacturers would have tried harded for that “good” rating? {http://www.iihs.org/news/rss/pr051408.html}

                        • viking gal says:

                          *harder.
                          Darned miss-typing fingers!

                        • froofrou says:

Shortright, it was actually shorter and a little taller than that.

                        • froofrou says:

(I mean shorter from front to back, not from bottom to top. It was VERY VERY short front to back, and almost the same height as a regular car. It was ugly. LIke I said, rather like a Segway with a top.

                        • the_original_shortright says:

wooooooow. i would never drive that contraption on the highway.

vg – the convertible one probably doesn’t have that rating though ;)

                        • I know what you’re talking about froo, I’ve seen a few of them around here and they make golf carts look like tanks in comparison.

                        • eddiepscetti says:

You see those every where over here. I’ve even seen them on the freeway cruising along at 100/kmh. I wouldn’t mind having one for zipping around the city, but I damn sure wouldn’t get out on the highway in one. The other one scares the bejeebus out of me is this one: {http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/archive/2/24/20070122202859!Daewoo_Matiz.jpg} It may not look like it, but you if you get two people in the car I think you have exceeded the gross vehicle weight limit. I could run over this thing in my VW and it would barely cause a thump (not unlike going over a speed bump).

                        • That Daewoo is about twice the size of the car I’m thinking about here.

                        • eddiepscetti says:

The SMART car is incredibly small, and the only way you would catch me in one is dead. I can’t see how those things can be street legal.

                        • eddiepscetti says:

                          Here’s the dealership I pass every day on my way in to work that sells them: {http://www.barloworldmotor.com.au/barloworld-mercedes-benz/smart.html}

                        • Danbala says:

The Smart car is excellent – you can park it with its nose to the curb and it still fits. :)

(No, I don’t have one, nor do I want one, but it’s a brilliant car for driving in a narrow-streeted crowded city.)

                • rowanwatson says:

i couldn’t agree more, froo! AND long hair, AND (i still can’t fathom it) high heels!

      • 4 compassion says:

Since you are quite obviously not a fan of our fairly elected president (unlike a certain predecessor), i would assume you are conservative, most of whom are pro-life. Why don’t you think the lives of these two cats matter? And to everyone who made comments about how certain television superheros are better then te man in this photo- what have they done besides rot the brains of pre pubescant boys and a few extremely immature adults? Every life matters. No exceptions.

        • Conservative_Redneck says:

Yeah, I am a conservative and I am not a fan of the current president, fairly elected though he was. I am also pro-life.

BUT I loves da kittehs and that photo is far more touching to me than it would be if the guy were carrying two babbys. So go figger, right?

  3. realfurst says:

no i think its that the man in front is a hero because he saves the lives of 2 kittehs and the man in the back saves some stuff from his house

  4. Too bad they didn’t save the funny.

  5. deadinfrance says:

He is saving kitties and that make him a hero to me.

  6. suicide_retardblonde says:

    This picture is racist.

The white guy is “Finding” cats while the black guy is “Looting”?

    RACISTS, All of you.

  7. Reika says:

Huh. Once again, I seem to have made a navigational error; I thought I was at a COMEDY site.

  8. GazUtd says:

This caption should go straight on to Failblog.
Honestly, who is voting for this crap?

  9. caylees says:

Awwww . those kitties are probly clawing the crap outta him too! and all you neigh sayers, you’d be the guy in the background.
And its not racism, one guy happens to be black and one guy happens to be white. if it was the other way round the picture would still make sense and touch ma heart! lol

  10. j_beam says:

Actually, the cats are named Fry and Bender and they were rescued in the Cedar Rapids flood last year.

  11. heh says:

I always imagine this guy is thinking “god8amn wife and her sh1tty cats.”

  12. sarahdm says:

Just makes me wonder why the cameraman isn’t helping them both.

  13. Shadowbane509 says:

    Isnt this hurricane Katrina?

  14. luth says:

Aw, whoever he is, bless him :o )

  15. bitter troll says:

umm why is he not wearing tights and a cape?

clearly someone does not know what a hero is

    perparge farm knows

  16. Rattus says:

Okay, so maybe it’s not funny and maybe it’s in the wrong thread, but it did remind me that I need to pick up individual carry cases for my boys in the event of an evacuation. So kudos to it.

  17. Creamy says:

Original – Harry Baumert, Des Moines Register.

“Brandon Smith, 23, carries Bender, right and Fry, his fiance’s cats, to safety Thursday morning in southwest Cedar Rapids. His neighbor, Tyrone Pierce, 49, follows.”

  18. What? says:

Wow, a that’s a lot of threadjacks, easily-offended weirdos, and trolls for one picture. Here in the peanut gallery…I’d just like to say that I think it’s a nice one–any guy braving knee-deep water and frightened claws to rescue his kitties is certianly my hero! Or at least my friend.

  19. Tessie says:

“Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow!! WHY did I think it was OK to carry the third cat by tucking him into the back of my pants!!??”

  20. pittypat says:

We’re all sensitive people with so much to give.

  21. Michele says:

Long live Fry and Bender, and the man who saved them from the flood!

  22. spookyu says:

Hero indeed. XD of course I’m pretty sure he might be motivated by the few dozen puncture wounds from cat claws that would travel up his body if he even TRIED to set let kitty go for a swim hahaha.

  23. omgwtflolzomgzoromgzorwtfzor says:

Cats sucks, if he would have dogs, dogs would swim thenselves and guy could take his computer instead of cats ;p

  24. Stranger says:

He’d only be a real hero if he gave them cheezburgers once they reached safety.

P.S. It’s a joke people. These pictures and their captions are supposed to be funny and/or ironic. The acceptable response is to laugh and move on.

  25. chemic says:

this dude is like the chuck norris of kitty savours…

  26. jac says:

Oh, please! I can think of many people more deserving of the title “hero” than a dude carrying his girlfriend’s cats.

  27. mrwynd says:

I prefer to call real people heroes and not fictional. This man is a hero!

  28. Griffin says:

the white guy is rescuing cats and the colored fella is obviously stealing

  29. thedeadpoet says:

Admirable, and a truly heroic act.

Much respect to this Man I’m sure.

  30. notaracist says:

well, am i the only one who notices the black man “looting” in the background, if he was a hero, hed stop the guy behind him, maybe even throwing the cats at him

  31. Rita Nohemi says:

    It’s me or the cats…..

  32. bitter troll says:

maybe he just wants them for food

  33. snel geld says:

OMG, so funny. And he’s right btw

    • Igor the Vigorous says:

Yes, because a picture with no joke and a man carrying a pair of cats is “so funny”. OMG. LIKE TTLY. BE MY BFF.
      It’s not remotely funny.

  34. Sly Hoax says:

Those who wonder why he’s a hero have obviously never tried to give a cat a bath, let alone two of them simultaneously.

  35. hai says:

    this man is an hero.

    XP

  36. Marwa says:

Really that’s every heroic and cute, he is a real gentleman, one of those whom disappered now

  37. Felipe says:

if those cats can’t swim, they shouldn’t be on water. stupid cats deserve to die.

  38. JoJo says:

Does it really matter who or where they are? The point is that he took the time to save two innocent lives when most people would have just looked the other way…pictures like this restore my faith in humanity :)

  39. Schlumpy says:

The nice gentleman is looking for a good place to drown cats.

  40. Buitenlampen says:

Really nice picture i think. A real gentlemen.

  41. I don’t usually post on blogs but had to on yours. You have a very easy to read writing style. I really enjoy posts about this topic, they give me a lot to reflect on. I don’t have time to read everything right now, I found this site when looking for something else on Yahoo, but I’ve bookmarked your homepage and will check back soon to see the latest thoughts.

  42. See, that would have been a better caption.

    *pussies.

  43. Hey…I think I’ve seen that movie. ;-)

  44. Semperfidd says:

Ty and ty for the correction lol. Not a word I type very often. :o )

  45. pittypat says:

So have I! TP in KDW, starring the Beignet twins from Baton Rouge.

  46. Jane St.Clair says:

    assholeassholeassholeassholeassholeassholeassholeassholeasshole

  47. Well that’s not very nice. Oh, wait, I get it. Never mind.

  48. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!! I almost forgot about that!!

  49. the_original_shortright says:

i can’t find the badger badger lord of the rings :( i found a version online but it’s not the awesome one i saw years ago.

  50. Jane St.Clair says:

Me too! Ah, I loves the badger.

  51. Val says:

the Potatos lord of the rings one is better.

  52. the_original_shortright says:

because it’s about samwise… of course it’s better.

  53. brak says:

    A SNAKE A SNAKE A SNAKE OOOHHH IT’S A SNAAAAKKKEEE!!!!!

  54. Phaelin says:

    EVERYONE LOVES MAGICAL TREVOOOOR

  55. Jane St.Clair says:

Oh. Right. Totally not directed at you eRando. *hugs*

  56. deoboed says:

I love that movie. Why can’t all comedies be that good?
