Yes, it is indeed news, but apparently there are narrowly defined margins defining exactly what news is, and woe betide those who dare believe that anything outside those margins qualifies. Or, perhaps it’s just another excuse for whining. Yeah, now that I think about it, it’s the whining thing.

Firefighters deserve way more than just nine lives! How about they gain an extra life for every life they save? That sounds like a reasonable starting point.

Not always. The town I grew up in still has an ALL volunteer fire department.
So do a lot of the towns in the area my grandmother lives right now.
But those things with cats are not firefighters. They are women. The guy to the right in the photo? That is a fire fighter. The men fight the fires, the women carry the pu$$ys.

It’s part of an equipment compartment door on the side of a fire truck. The door is open, facing the camera, with most of the door out of sight. This would be part of a two-door compartment. You open the right side with an exterior handle, and then pull the “pull” tab (revealed by opening the first door) to open the left side door.
When closing the door, the door with the pull tab goes first.

I think you missed the point of the argument. Of course, it’s hard to tell through all the Engrish. To be quick about this one, yes, firefighters are awesome and deserve hell of praise for what they put themselves through, but the saving-cats-themed lol’s are getting trite/dull/overdone. One is cute every few months or so, but we’re running too many close together here. So praise firefighters and jeer the lolcats in our “politilols”.

I admire the firefighters because of what they do, including taking the time to rescue someones beloved pets… Is that so wrong? I’m sure there is someone on the sidelines wringing their hands hoping their little pals are gonna be ok. I can imagine how happy they will be when they see them safe. Yes, firefighters are human beings and their lives are worth more than an animals, but if it can be done safely, it’s so nice that they try.
Completely agree with you on all points there. I admire firefighters plenty – even more-so when they take the time to save animals as well. It’s a nice touch, surely. You’ve gotta admit, though, this has been too many similar lols too close together.
I agree, people are the priority, but it’s vera nice of them to help the fuzzies too.
Firefighters only rescue pets if there is no danger to human life. Also there has been more than one occasion where a pet owner rushes into their burning home to rescue “Daisy” or “Rex” or whatever. That action requires the firefighters to go into an unsafe situation to grab the pet-owner. If the pet is found on the way, then no extra effort is required. Firefighters do what they do for the adrenaline rush anyway – not because they want to be heroes.

What’s more creepy is that one of my best friends who I told to visit this site sometime last month has two cats and uses the screenname “Loki”. Then again, Loki is a fairly well-known god and people use his name for their characters/names all the time. Personally, I prefer Fenrir. He’s less of a deliberate ass.
An animal like that barely deserves a reply. Here’s one case where I’d rather see the cat rescued if it was between the two.
