This should be on failblog under “EPIC FAIL”. How can a cop fail that spectacularly at driving a car? looks like he hit the phone booth at 40-50MPH yet at that distance you could only go 5MPH max. I think the only physically possible way for this to happen would be if he drove into the phone on the other side and the car wrapped around the phone booth and goes 180 degrees or the phone booth went at 50 mph into the car. lol, travelling phone booth =D

LOL, some corrections:
polycarbonate front lights DON’T BREAK. You need to hit them directly and even then it is only a chance.

Phone stands here are made of thick steel. Just as thick as are the high poles.

The engine moves in the direction towards under the floor during a crash.

There is nothing unusual with that picture.

Most likely explanation: cruiser smacked into booth… booth post came off or was cut away by plasma torch… cruiser got towed to the impound with the booth in place… peeps take pics… ends up on failblog.

About the engine: if you look closely you see that the post is not that deep into the front. It’s the *phone* that is hanging over the wrecked engine (and also the thing that crumpled the hood).

About the headlights: I wrecked our Mondeo aganst the backside of a silly lady’s car… and although the bumper was turned to granulate and the grill evaporated into molecules, the headlights survived with minor chipping.

During a holiday visit to LA (back in December) they had billboards everywhere proclaiming that texting while driving would become illegal on January 1 or something like that – I could only think “Illegal! Why do we have to even make a law about this? What boneheads believe this is somehow remotely acceptable?”

I mean, if it’s just them in a single-car accident and tax money isn’t used to clean their brains off of the pavement or whatever, I figure it’s just sort of Darwinian, right? But they’re endangering the rest of us – not acceptable. Plus, apparently, the gunk from the broken car can get into the storm drains and hurt the cute duckies.

I remember this time I was driving to work and I saw this woman putting on her makeup while driving on the freeway, and it freaked me out so much I dropped my electric razor right into my coffee cup.

The “Whiskerccino” never did catch on though.

Ok, I stole that from one of Herb Caen’s columns in the S. F. Comical…er, Chronical (but it’s a good bit – don’t remember who wrote it – well, the “Whiskerccino” part was from me – stop making that “ew” face already, sheesh).

That’s sad, but how did the police officer intend to pull over another car without telling them he wanted them to pull over?
The expression is a slap on the wrist, but anyway, I’d imagine the policeman deserved slightly more, but not enough to mar his life- he was acting as a public servant and trying to do his job, after all, and it was accidental.

Two girls got killed by a cop near me when the cop was chasing a speeding car without his lights or siren and going through past a stop sign. He didn’t get anything but maybe slap in the face and bad memories (not good enough).

It’s called Photoshop.

1. Despite all the “damage” to the car, neither headlight is broken.

2. The phone stand/kiosk/whatever would be made of lightweight metals and would have completely crumpled or at least shown some obvious damage had it been supported by something opposite the force of the car.

3. The phone stand/kiosk/whatever is currently where the engine of the car should be. You have to ask yourself where that engine was supposed to have gone. The sheer weight difference between the nearly solid metal engine block and the lightweight metal sheeting of the phone stand would indicate that the phone would move before the engine would.

The car likely hit a power pole or bridge support or other (very) solid item, was towed to the current location where the pic was taken, allowing it to be photoshopped.
