I think where most people find frustration with that froo is that the death panel thing has been shut down… again, and again. But the problem is that these people with these concerns claim that CNN and MSNBC (where these facts have been stated) are considered the evil liberal media machine, so, if you’re going to ignore one side of the issue and only follow one, you’re not interested in the truth, you’re interested in only causing a stir. I mean this is America ffs. Death panels? Seriously?
I find it hard to believe that THAT many conservatives actually believe that there are enough people in this country who support that kind of thing to think that it holds any water whatsoever. It also doesn’t help that people like Rush and Glenn Beck do NOTHING but sow discontent and mistrust. When you do that, you’re just going to propagate this kind of behavior and thinking which will do nothing, but make your own side look bad.

Sheesh is saying that the Lame Stream Media ignores any story that might hurt the Democrats, or protects them better than the Secret Service ever could. Obama IS ACORN and they helped get him elected and he repaid them with billions in stimulus money- now they’re in deep doodoo but Nothing….crickets chirping…from CNN ( which is the 2nd most biased newssite (second to MSNBC)) at all. And Democratic presidential candidate Edwards had an affair and love child with one of his staff while HIS WIFE WAS BEING TREATED FOR CANCER and again, nothing from the media- it took The National Enquirer to break that story. Hundreds of thousands of people march on Washington- and the media ignores it ( because they are not Democrats), the Racist, self avowed Communist Green Czar appointed by Obama is forced to resign- and nothing in the Media at all. Had any of this occurred with Bush, we would have had hourly bulletins for months. The Lame Stream Media is no longer any different from PRAVDA. Nothing but wall to wall lies and propaganda.

But that’s kind of my point. The people are normal, have been warped by whatever they’ve seen on whatever blog they’ve read or news show they’ve seen (I refuse to get specific here due to my black little Conservative heart ), and are asking questions that to us might be stupid, but to them are pretty important. If all they’ve heard is that Obama wants to kill Granny, isn’t it a disservice to simply shut down that person with a flippant statement as opposed to saying “Clearly, we aren’t going to have Death Panels, and here’s the section of the bill that proves it”?

Just ignoring or dismissing ignorance isn’t going to make it go away. In fact, it will just make it worse.

And Barney Frank should be spanked for saying that, hehe. Preferably not by one of the dudes he’s got in his basement

There’s a certain democrat, I forget his name, which is sad because I’m in awe everytime he speaks. Who’s in his state’s senate. I see him on CNN often because they know whoever they put him up against he’ll shut them down. He speaks eloquently, knows his material and best of all, is the most civil debater… ever I might go so far as to say he’s a Master Debater (heeheehee). I wish he would go to those town hall meetings because he could answer and reassure everyone on their questions..
But, in answer to your question, I have no doubts that the woman in question was NOT a plant. I know she’s not, I just said that she’s normal. And if she IS the norm of the thought process of most people opposing this bill, then I’m just fearful of the future, because I know those people are breeding.

If you’ve got cites for right wing astro-turfing, I’d love to see them, No1. I’ve tried to find them on my own, but when I type stuff like that into search engines online, or search for plants at town hall meetings, all I get is a long list of stories about the people paid to disrupt protests (the SEIU) and beat people up, and the people paid (or at least asked) to ask certain planted questions of the president during town hall meetings. I mean, the last several plants belonged to the Obama campaign in some way, including the lady dying of cancer (who, in fact, did have medical insurance that she claimed not to have), the so called doctor supporting the healthcare bill in Texas who wasn’t actually a doctor, and the little 9 year old kid asking a question that was way out of her league. All of these people were found to have close ties to the Administration, either through satellite groups or specific ties through fundraising and campaigning.

I want to believe, here! I just can’t find the evidence that people asking questions of people like Barney Frank and other Dems who are shut down in very mean ways (like the guy who was told that urine wouldn’t even be wasted on him) are anything but normal people who are honestly worried.

Just because a big-name organization is lending money to help organize does not equal astro-turfing in the ways that it’s being done in other areas with actual plants who are getting paid to do certain things. I’d say the same thing if it was Soros funding them and not trying to be an ass and sway with paid plants.

Yeah, but there’s only so much “real” headline news on any given day/week/month, but they still have their time/inches to fill, and the public’s attention span has collectively shortened to the point where they can’t spend 5-10 minutes on one story unless there’s lots of juicy details.
