  2. koeryn says:

That’s a really strange picture… No magazine loaded, bolt open, but finger on the trigger, and spotter being a bench rest. O_o

    Crazy Russkies.

    • me says:

To bad they are British, not Russians. Nice attempt at poorly educated humor.

      • Jojo says:

Why is it too bad that they’re British? Also, how can you assume they are British? With no visible insignias we cannot assume they are any specific group.

        • Tron says:

Because they are wearing DPM, a British camo pattern.

          • paws4thot says:

Also boots, beret on the shooter, lo-vis badge on the “rest”…

            • keithybabes says:

Also because British army pay is so bad it’s cheaper to use a squaddie’s ass than a tripod.

              • xmetalheadnyrx says:

                Nice one!

              • HelOnWheels says:

                *giggles*

                • Charlie Foxtrot (Floyd Extrodinaire) says:

But, other than that, the LOL is funny — bet that’s up on the board in the barracks.

                • Xenon says:

Okay, I have to ask. Where the hell did that inane comment about games come from?

                  • Vila Restal says:

Actually this is called initiative (and also something else but I can’t remember the word but it means making up a solution for something out of what you have to hand) But this is something that you should be trained in in the Military, in fact anyones Military. In fact the user of one person as a support for a machinegun has been ongoing since probably even before the Second World War (The German Army during WWII used to use this method quite often, however unlike the pair here the only protection the poor bugger being used as a mount for a MG34 had was to stick his hands over his ears. Doesn’t really protect you against the sound of a machinegun going off in your left ear does it :-) )

                  • Charlie Foxtrot (Floyd Extrodinaire) says:

Military Video Game Masters always have the right equipment to beat the level. In real life, you have to complete the mission regardless of the equipment that you may or may not have.

                    • Xenon says:

No, they don’t. I can’t think of any particular levels off-hand (though Halo 3: ODST jumps to mind for some reason) but I’m sleepy and just woke up, so give me a break. I do, however, know, that there are some levels where you have to do the mission with weapons and equipment totally unsuited for anything.

Haven’t played it but I bet Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, with its emphasis on super-realism, will have cruddy equipment.

… had more to say, but I yawned and it flew out of my head into nothingness. Typical.

      • Brit boy says:

@me sorry, but I don’t think these are Brits, the camo pattern isn’t right, similar to British, but not the same, I think they maybe Canadian, not sure though.

    • Nomad says:

Ehm…you do know, that Russians are using their own weapons? Especially for training. Is Dragunov a word for you?

      • HelOnWheels says:

“Is Dragunov a word for you?”

Yes. Since you’re so full of yourself here are a few more words that I know: “Paschol ti na hooy”.

    • Champagne and Gunsmoke says:

lol! I didn’t even notice that! lmfao

  3. keithybabes says:

Concrete is a construction material composed of cement (commonly Portland cement) as well as other cementitious materials such as fly ash and slag cement, aggregate (generally a coarse aggregate such as gravel, limestone, or granite, plus a fine aggregate such as sand), water, and chemical admixtures. The word concrete comes from the Latin word “concretus” (meaning compact or condensed), the past participle of “concresco”, from “com-” (together) and “cresco” (to grow).

Concrete solidifies and hardens after mixing with water and placement due to a chemical process known as hydration. The water reacts with the cement, which bonds the other components together, eventually creating a stone-like material. Concrete is used to make pavements, architectural structures, foundations, motorways/roads, bridges/overpasses, parking structures, brick/block walls and footings for gates, fences and poles.

Concrete is used more than any other man-made material in the world.[1] As of 2006, about 7.5 cubic kilometres of concrete are made each year—more than one cubic metre for every person on Earth.[2] Concrete powers a US $35-billion industry which employs more than two million workers in the United States alone.[citation needed] More than 55,000 miles (89,000 km) of highways in the United States are paved with this material. Reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete are the most widely used modern kinds of concrete functional extensions.

  4. xmetalheadnyrx says:

His face screams “OMG MY FACE IS IN THIS DUDE’S CROTCH!!!!!!!!!!! WHADOO I DO?!?!??!?!!!!1111///”

  5. PortlandMark says:

With 6 and a half billion people in the world, and at least a couple billion cameras, there should be 13,000,000,000,000,000,000 different photo opportunities a day, assuming (totally unscientifically) one photo per person per camera daily.

With this wealth of opportunity out there, why are we forced to see recycled photos so often here?

  6. Why Not? says:

Who wants to bet that this IS in the manual?

  7. Maithiu says:

it would be worse if the enemy returned fire XD ouch

  8. moe says:

I always thought “rifle butt” simply meant the thick end of the gun.

  9. Chessie says:

I just hope the guy doing the ‘bench rest’ didn’t eat beans for dinner. ;)

  10. ʍʇɟ ızɐu ɹɐɯɯɐɹƃ says:

    You go girl!

  11. VA Scout says:

This is an actually taught method used for snipers. IT allows for more accuracy at longer range. This gun also dose not have a clip, single shot. Also with the bolt open the shooter could be looking at shot placement.

  12. D-Day says:

    don’t ask don’t tell.

  13. Harry V. says:

I know sucking up is a common practice to getting a promotion, but this guy is taking that a bit too literal.

  14. OhNoes says:

“British sniper finds an actual use for a French soldier”

    • keithybabes says:

Now you come to mention it they are wearing different camouflage. The ‘rest’ is actually the first guy he shot. 101 uses for a dead Frenchman..

  15. jooli says:

If I could be for only an hour . . . if I could be for just an hour every day. If I could be for just one stupid hour . . . CUTE CUTE CUTE . . . in a stupid assed waaaayyyy.

  16. Why are they demonstrating how Charro got vetted as my VP? I mean this isn’t her in the crotch but it is the same technique though she was definitely less miserable. Jane did rather well too…

  17. baggins says:

Worst thing is, is that it actually is in the field manual.

  18. Cameron says:

Actually, I think this IS in the manual lol

    • pittypat says:

Alright, not reading all 110 previous comments is one thing, but not looking at the comment before yours? That takes talent.

  19. Larry says:

It seems to be two British soldiers being unable to find a spot to put the sniper…

  20. bobo says:

top five ways to get your touche blown off by the enemy

  21. jenspaztic says:

apparently people don’t realize they actually show you to do this in basic. it’s not commonly used in combat but it’s still taught.

    • Vila Restal says:

It’s not used in combat so often now as many weapons come ready equipped with Bipods. It’s just some weapons (like this one as I believe, although I could be wrong) is a Barret .50 cal sniper rifle. I was actually given a shot (pun not intended :-) ) of one by someone from the Royal Marine Commandos and it has a hell of a recoil, or perhaps I was just weaker in those days :-)

  22. Angry Crocodile says:

Actually, its an Accuracy International Artic Warfare. Probably the L115A1. Which is the british used .338 sniper…
