Well whitewater broke in 1993-ish, and the Republicans took over congress in 1994. That pretty much ended Clinton’s effectiveness, although it was not apparent at first and he did get reelected again. It took the Democrats to really destroy the Clintons as a political force. Nobody takes either one of them seriously anymore. I never liked them, but I was surprised at the way the Dems turned on them. It made me curious what they must have had on Obama for him to keep them around and to have so many old Clinton people in his administration.
Are you serious? I think both Clintons still get plenty of respect. If anything Bill’s rep has gotten much better over the last several years since leaving office. And Hillary was the first serious woman presidential candidate that I’ve ever seen. And now she’s secretary of state. Yeah, what a joke.
The Dems turned on the Clintons because the Clintons’ tarnished reputation cost them the 2000 election. Duh. We’re over it now.
And why in the world would they want to have administrators from the Clinton era in the white house again? I had gotten an email citing Pray for Obama Psalm 109:8, which of course I immediately forwarded to all sorts of people, but in the email I got, it listed just the one verse. AOL ran a piece about it the other day, and I’d be willing to bet most people though it harmless and much ado about nothing.

BT: Certainly cultural factors play into it, I agree completely with that. It doesn’t help parents raise children when you are fighting culture at every turn. But the idea that sex education or contraceptives have helped matters is complete nonsense. Exposing children to sexually oriented material gives many of them an interest and curiosity towards sex that they would not have had until much later. It destroys their innocence. Contraception was even worse, it created the impression that sex is casual and can be had without consequence or commitment. It is destroying the morals of an entire generation.

Second, a properly taught sex ed class is not exciting in any way, shape or form. It does, however, answer crucial questions such as: can I get pregnant during my period? are green m&ms aphrodisiacs? does douching with coke prevent pregnancy? (These are real teenagers’ questions, BTW.)
Third, if contraception taught YOU that sex is casual, that’s a fault of YOUR upbringing. And if it taught that to YOUR child, it’s a fault of YOUR parenting. Morals come from the home.
Last, look it up! That’s the joy of the internet. You can find all this information without ranting on some website about things you know nothing about.
So, jim, the best thing to do is to not teach them anything about contraception and cross our fingers and hope they’ll do the right thing on their own without any educaton on what to do. Got it.

Jim: all parents teach their children morals; some just teach better morals than others (although that’s a subjective matter). If you think that someone teaching your teenager the basic facts of biology is going to influence his/her morals, then you’ve done a crappy job of instilling YOUR values in your child.
The reason sex ed is taught is because parents DO NOT TEACH IT. Not now and now when I was in high school decades ago. I know this because I used to help my mother compile the anonymous questions submitted by students before the sex ed classes. (She arranged the outreach workers who taught the classes.)
PS Most home schoolers here do so because they don’t want their children learning that the world is NOT 6000 years old, the dinosaurs didn’t down in the great flood and people didn’t coexist with dinosaurs.

Poor people in inner city areas are more likely to commit crimes which get them arrested and convicted. There are a highly disproportionate amount of black people in poor, inner city areas. Now if you could show that, say, a black person on a low income in an urban area is more likely to commit a crime than a white person in the same situation, or that, say, a rich, educated black man in the suburbs is more likely to commit a crime than a rich, educated white suburbanite then you may start to get some kind of basis for your inference that black people are somehow genetically pre-disposed to crime. But I have a feeling you really don’t want to muddy the waters by looking any further underneath your statistics.
