WINDOW SEAT

(Soldiers in a helicopter)
Picture by: Dod Caption by: shanebc01 via Poster Builder
Soldier 1: Hey, look there!
Soldier 2: What?
Solder 1: *push*
Solder 2: aaaaaaaah
Solder 1: hehe
Solder 3: hey where’s jake
Haha because that strap they’re putting on is 100% sure to prevent someone from falling out.
How do you know?
Did you try it?
It roflcopterlicious :X
They are wearing parachutes. Thats what the guys behind them are doing, checking the static lines. They shove off, and after 6 seconds they are under chute.
I’ve done that before, even when the thing banks, you stay in because of the centripetal force. To get out, you have to push off. You remove the strap at about 1200 feet. It is there to make you feel better; it doesn’t work. Its every bit as terrifyingly awesome as it looks.
Nothing like a “fun jump” from a helicopter. Memories of Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
There’s a tad too much 100-mile-an-hour tape on that chopper door to keep me from being comfortable.
That tape is there to protect the static lines as the static lines are left dangling after each paratrooper’s jump (and maybe to protect the paratroops too, if only just a little). In the LRS in the 1980′s we jumped Chinook, Huey UH-1 and at least one Blackhawk, if I remember correctly — mainly, though, we used C-7 / CV-2 Caribou. [Insert Caribou joke here]
Take it from a Canuck….Caribou are not funny.
Caribou gorn…. nice woody sound….
No, no, dear, they’re nibbling on the croquet hoops,
Unlike möose.
My sister was bitten by a moose once.
That must have been a hell of a hickey.
Keithy is making me suspect he’s never watched den Hølie Grailen…
How do you DO the ohs with the line through them?!!
On a Mac, you can type [Alt]+o. If you’re not on a Mac, then that’s your mistake.
(Or, you can copy & paste it. That works on any computer, most likely.)
Stupid Mac users get all the cool toys.
ø ø ø ø giggle ø ø ø ø Okay either I don’t get out much or I am really really over stressed. One of the joys in my life = my mac ø ø ø
It’s okay, I take great joy in a clear bouncy rubber ball filled with water and glitter. You can have your ø’s.
Like: ø
(That’s ø: but with a semi-colon isntead of a colon.
)
Start menu > programs > accessories > system tools > character map. It has all the interesting symbols and how to make them. Hold alt and type 0248 for ø. Hrm, for some reason that only works when I use the number pad on this computer and not on the numbers above the letters on the keyboard. Odd. So, if you’re using a laptop that doesn’t have a number pad you might be screwed.
So, we were talking about the mo&o/:se that bit your sister?
*headdesk* mo&o/;se!
Type it out letter by letter. Not the sign “slash”, the word “slash”.
Danbala!
Mmph. moøse?
Yay! Now I must GO to work. Thank you, everyone.
PS Danbala, in Sweden, DO you say ‘whoa’ (or ‘whoah’) to your horse?
No, we say “ptroo”.
ø:
Ah, fudge. I was hoping to surprise my Danish cousins.
VG, you have to put a semi-colon instead of the colon.
Danbala, I just want you to know that I drove to work trying to figure out how to say ‘ptroo.’
(My own fault for asking.)
Ør that he’s an idiöt.
No one picked up the MP ref? Sad. Just damned sad.
I think we did, Keithy just seems to like derailing Monty Python references.
Not always….does my belief that Mooses wander the streets and forests of the USA, randomly biting passers-by, make me a bad person? Or just a silly bunt?
Wait, why would “The Holy Grail” make you think there are moøse wandering the streets here? It wasn’t even filmed here. Obviously the biting moøse are all in Scotland.
… In other words the mass of tape makes you comfortable? Good for you!
Stephen I don’t see any weapons in the pic probably meanings its a training jump so that bird is part of the training school and not a combat bird the 100MPH tape is probably there to protect the the paint job from the metal buckles flapping in the wind and chipping the paint
what’s the point of a paint job if you can’t show it off?
So much for being a door gunner. I hope that’s nuclear tape!
They are going to parachute from it.
When they get to altitude, the pilot rocks side to side to drop the jumpers out of the helo.
*yawn*
Damn, that’s exactly what I was going to say…
*super yawn*
*epic yawn*
*jaw cracking yawn*
Yawn Rape!!!
That is so annoying.
Not to mention a federal offense.
Dammit, people. Don’t you know yawns are contag….*YAWN* Crap!
*yawny yawn yawn*
And HTF did it get voted up to the front page?!
*yawn*
Yeah seriously, out of all the captions for this pic, this is the one that gets voted up?
It’s a pic of 3 soldiers sitting in the door of a transport helo that’s still on the ground; is this supposed to be funny?
It could have been funny if the caption wasn’t a complete piece of doo-doo.
I risked sneaking into PK while at work for this? I could get caught by the IT guy any moment and this is what I get? (Tiptoes back to research site)
Er, yeah, I wouldn’t dream of risking pulling up PK or any other site at work. That’s just silly.
Unless you’re self-employed. *goes to yell at self for looking at PK while at work*
We just got a memo round the office about excessive use of internets… I suspect the game is up!
*Emails Mabs*
I just saw one of your employees posting to an internet site while she was working. You may want to have a talk with her about that. She’s setting a terrible example for the rest of your staff.
Sorry, I was plunging the toilet, what? (Joys of working at home.
)
Fecking writer’s block!!!!11!!
Mo-om, he’s touching me!
A military LOL that isn’t preachy? HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!
