I agree somewhat, and can’t say I like the use of ‘Confucian’ just because they happen to be oriental. If there were some other reason to relate this LOL to Confucius, it would be funny. If it didn’t have the little asterisked footnote even, it would be mildly funny. But adding the whole ‘Hohoho, Chinese people are like Confuscius’ just makes it tacky.

It often does. When I was a kid I had this sadistic doctor who thought the best way to give a vaccine was to “get it over with”, and as a result tended to stab me with the needle. I didn’t get over my phobia until I was twenty. “Little pinch”? Yeah, right. More like impaled.
