    Who uses tapes anyways?!

      Apparently, Al Qaeda.

And the police force. And crazies on CSI. Ummmmmm people stuck in the 80′s. Reocrds are better though, much easier to play backwards and hear Satanic sayings.

        • Justacarolinian says:

I had to do a second look in Family Dollar today, as they still sell tape players. Though they were in the discount bin that approaches the register.

          • viking gal says:

I actually have a record player…but then again, I also have a Victrola. And an iPod. ;)

            • mabsba says:

My husband has a turntable (= expensive record player). He says records sound better than CDs. But I don’t think we have a Victrola. VG wins!

            • Justacarolinian says:

LOL, I have a stereo with dual tape decks that I keep simply because it will THUMP if you turn it up. And I think I have a turntable in the basement. (I do, if the kids didn’t trash it)
I’ve heard a lot that vinyl is coming back, and even seen some new music released on both CD and vinyl.
If Bro Wade knew you had that Victrola, he would be begging me to bargain with you for it. He deals in antiques, and those are hot items. Along with 78 records.

              • viking gal says:

I’ve got tons of 78s. Picked up some at a yard sale, plus the huge stack from my grand- and great-grandmothers! Great-grand was the opera singer, and the victrola was her retirement gift to herself. So I’m afraid it won’t leave the family during MY watch!
There’s an old story in the family that my father and an uncle or two had to wrestle the old springs back into position once, which I’m told was rather dangerous! O.o

                • Justacarolinian says:

                  o.O

LOL, yeah, I wont try and get it from you. *reminds self to never let Bro Wade know*

You made me think of an experience I had the first time I tried to do a strut, with a cheap spring compression tool. Imagine one of the 4 springs that hold up the weight of a car popping out of a tool meant to squeeze them, allowing you to change the spring from the old strut to the new.
The skid marks in my underwear were so astonishing, I had that pair bronzed.

                  • viking gal says:

“Cheap spring compression tool”–a phrase which just should NOT exist in human language!
I’m getting an adrenalin surge just from reading about that experience. *goes to find some sugar*

                    • Justacarolinian says:

LOL, yeah. Back when $25 was a lot for a kid to spend. Somewhere I think I still have left over adrenalin stored in a bottle.

that just bin laden tourist guide cassettes form the 90`. Like travel to Afghanistan and kill russians.
Or its his motivation tape to stop smoking after sucide bombing.

  4. Women wear trash bags everywhere they go? This is completely disrespectful.

    • 321 says:

Those trash bags are disrespectful for women.

Either they are forced by men to wear them, or they are told Allah wants them to (and actually this is not in the Qur’an but women don’t know it – men just don’t let women read it or they don’t even let women learn to read to begin with).

The veil is another story. It only covers the hair so some women wear it as a tradition and they know it’s not in the Qur’an. But the burka is always somehow enforced on women.

By respecting the culture of the trash bag you don’t do these women a favor at all.

      • 321 says:

Also, this trend of respecting any messed up culture/religion for the sake of open-mindedness needs to stop.

Respecting cultures that have and enforce rules that are harmful to others is not open-mindedness. I think one must actually be close-minded not to see harm should not be allowed only because of sad excuses like culture or religion.

Islam isn’t all bad. Like in every culture, Islam has some qualities. But that doesn’t mean we should approve of the bad parts and feel ashamed about speaking against the worse parts of this religion.
This is true for any religion or culture.

      • Default User says:

Most Muslim women know it’s not in the Qu’arn though a head covering is traditional, not just in Islam, but in Judaism as well, though only orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox Jews keep with the practice of covering their hair. Only in the more extreme countries is the Burka enforced by law and many women know it is not required by their religion and resent being required to wear one, but going without one can result in beatings, prison, rape and death. Of course that’s what happen when oyu have a dictator in power, and not even a good one to boot. The good dictators would have their populace believing that wearing the burka is good for the country somehow. It shows patriotic pride or something like that, I bet Kim Jong-Il could pull it off. Stalin would have the people doing it and love him for it, now there was a dictator. Not only was he an evil controlling bastard, but the people loved him for it. *mutters at the poor quality of dictators nowadays*

Huh…I seem to have gone on a tangent, and forgotten my original point….

        • 321 says:

You seem to agree with what I said:

I said there are two reasons women wear the burka:
          - Some women know it is not in the Qur’an but they are forced to wear it.
          - Some women do not know it is not in the Qur’an, and they wear it because men tell them it is.

And I also said the veil (head scarf) is a tradition for some of them. So I guess you agree with me.

(Try using paragraphs, it helps stick to your point and not go off topic ;)

          • Default User says:

Bah! I’m sick and it’s almost four in the morning.

I think my point was that most women who wear the full burka do it because it’s the law in their country, not because men tell them it’s in the Qu’aran.

I think, though I could be mistaken on this, that a head covering for women is in the bible (old testament)/Torah, if so that could be considered a reason to wear a hijab beyond tradition.

I should go to bed…my head is all wuzzy.

          • PortlandMark says:

I’ve heard interviews with several muslim women on the subject recently, and I’m afraid you’re wrong. I, personally, can’t imagine this, but several of these women (all living in western countries, not Afghanistan or the middle east) have said variations on the same thing: they pity western women for always being on sexual display, and wear their scarves or burkhas (sp?) because they don’t want men to be judging their attractiveness constantly. These interviews were all in relation to stories about laws in France and Oregon that restrict their right to wear their customary dress.

            • Default User says:

Out of curiosity, was that mostly just the head scarf or the full burka?

              • dissimilitude says:

I’ve had the occasional day when I’d welcome at least a head covering…for some reason they look askance at my wearing of a wooly ski cap or baseball cap in the office, and my hair is NOT always cooperative.

                • Default User says:

I could see wearing a burka on some days, you know, when you’re just to lazy to care about it, just throw on a burka, if it’s warm enough you don’t even need to put anything under it.

                  • viking gal says:

Those burka things restrict your lateral vision, and they tie up one hand if you want to do anything. NO THANK YOU!.
I can see a kaftan (all in one pullover kind of bathrobe thing), I can see a head scarf. But never a burka. The only exception I might see is I had some horrible facial deformity that would scare children–and I’d rather train the kids to have compassion and manners instead.

You had me up until the trash bags part…

    • AGREED! That is incredibly offensive! I love how we are now at war against the entire Muslim religion. I live in the US and see plenty of Muslim women wearing traditional Muslim garments. To call it trash bags is uncalled for.

      • Depends on what you define as “traditional Muslim garments”. I’m from a Southeast Asian country that’s majority Muslim, and a lot of people aren’t happy at the creeping Arabification of Malay Muslim culture.

      • 321 says:

See my reply to you above. Women wearing the burka are forced to. Either by threat from male relatives, or by being told this is what Allah wants.
IT IS NOT what Allah wants. This is not in the Qur’an. These women can’t read or aren’t allowed to read the Qur’an.

Also, do not confuse burka and veil. Burka is the trash bag. The veil covers only the hair, and some women choose on their own to wear it (they know it’s not in the Qur’an).
But the Burka is always forced on women somehow.

If you want to help these women, then don’t support the burka.
You are right, it is a tradition. But it is a tradition that is harmful and forced on an entire social group. Such traditions should not be respected.

thats a whole lot of stereotypes in one caption, i bet his mommie is very proud! beleive it or not not everything that has arabic on it is from al queda, and christianity is actually considered a holy religion by muslims as well as islam and judaism, although al queda may not feel that way

    • FadedLY says:

Exactly, I was hoping someone on the forum was able to read Arabic and tell us what it actually is.

I wish I had more time, or I’d just go learn Arabic myself. :)

    eh. where to begin.

First of all, Not everybody can afford an iPod, a computer or a CD player. Some people have inherited cassette players from their parents and still use them.

#2 this is a religious tape. So you are attacking 1/5 of the world’s population just because you think you’re funny (whether it’s the poster or someone else who wrote this crap) and by religious I mean it’s an explanatory tape for people who love to find more about their religion (Islam). It’s just a reading of the holly Quran and explanation of it’s verses.

#3 No one around here in the middle east thinks Bin Laden is a prophet or even a good person. He’s on the most wanted list in more than just the US or the EU

#4 Whatever you think is fashionable someone else will definitely disagree. So no need to be rude to half of that fifth of the world.

#5 We don’t hate Christians. 2 of my best friends are.

#6 Bush is Evil. He brought the US economy down along with most world’s economies with it. I personally hate him. and Blame US citizens for electing him.

BTW. You’ve just lost at least one reader/follower.

    • The guy who wrote this has a major prejudice against Muslims. He’s pretty a much total tool.

      Bush isn’t evil. He’s a moron. There’s a difference.

Awesome post, and very true on all accounts. :)

However, don’t give up on PunditKitchen just because one butthead made a stupid caption (there’s a lot of them that do that). All the “lols” on here are made by regular people, and the Cheezburger network people have no way of filtering them all, so they stick to barring the basics (nudity or what have you).

As you see, the caption was made by someone named “gop tough guy” which should clue you in as to the butt-headedness of the person that made it. ;)

      • froofrou says:

Yes, and your blanket assumptions and idiotic statements about a party with which you do not agree label you as a Douchey McDoucherson.

        • FadedLY says:

You made a blanket assumption I was referring to the party in particular.

I was more referring to the guy having “tough guy” in his name (which automatically makes him a turd in my honest opinon), but believe what you will and keep attacking people based on assumptions.

          • Don’t pretend you didn’t mean the “gop” part too. You know you did.

            • viking gal says:

For some reason I read ‘gop’ as ‘goop’. Maybe I should get out of the teaching lab more often?

              • mabsba says:

Hee hee. “Goop” is also an extra-strength hand cleaner, like for when you’ve been doing stuff on a car.

There was NO insult to the joke. Just a play on “teh durty libruhl” MEME. Nothing more.

                    • mabsba says:

It’s also a bit like saying, “No offense, but…” and then being offensive.

                      • Churj says:

Wait, so all we have to do is say “no offense” and then we can be offensive? This changes *everything* for Canada!

Well, SOME people think that putting ‘no offense’ first somehow makes it okay. I am thinking that it would probably not go over well in Canuckia.

Wait, so am I supposed to be offended now, or am I not allowed to be? We’re not very used to this whole insulting thing up here.
Perhaps you should have said “Excuse me, no offense, Canada, but you suck, please”.

                        • oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

No, you already suck so adding the “please” is redundant. How about:

Excuse me, Canada, but you suck. Thank you.

                        • viking gal says:

And to point out the obvious elephant in the room, I’ve made no bones about being a strong believer in States Rights and Enumerated powers. I’ve even stated that I find a lot in common with the Libertarian party, and considered them, but was disappointed.
I’ve found things in common with both sides, but enough differences with both sides that I could never join either one. I’ve never claimed to be moderate, but rather independent.
What I find curious, Froo and other full blood, died in the wool, Ditto Head conservatives have no trouble with me being independent, and have made no effort to label me. Yet the majority of those who identify with the left have made an amazing effort to do so.

Yes.. That’s how people become President of the United States, they are elected by US citizens.

Or were you trying to say you are also blaming the US citizens that voted for him for the fall of said economies? Or, that you blame all US citizens simply because Bush was our President? Because those are both much different scenarios. Not everyone voted for him you know.

Also, no need to leave because of one idiotic, bigoted post. There are a lot of those and if I left every time I saw one, well I wouldn’t be here several times over.

    • wickets ebil twin says:

If you think this is insulting, you should see how mad some Christians get when we make fun of them. I didn’t write the comment, nor do i find it that funny, but i can say that it’s not meant to be an insult to you, the middle east, or Muslims in general. Just because Al Quaeda groups everyone within the boundaries of the US as scum of the earth, doesn’t mean he’s right (doesn’t mean you’re right either). Murderers are bad, so stop getting all Sarah Palin about this…it’s not always about you.

    • So.... says:

About your point 3: So what do people in the middle east think Bin Laden is? I know not everyone likes him or works for him, but those who support him, what do they think he is?

About point 4: when you speak about fashion, I hope you’re not supporting the burka. You know as well as I do that women are forced to wear it.

About point 5: That’s not exactly an argument. Racists in hear say “I’m not racist, one of my friends is black”. I’m not saying you hate christians, but your argument is not a very good one.

About point 6: Do you blame the US citizens who voted for Bush, or all US citizens?

I would like to ask you if you criticize intolerant muslims the way you criticize intolerant americans.
Recently Ghadafi called for war against Switzerland for banning minarets. Ghadafi wants to decide what other countries do on their own territory. Did you also stand up against this, or do you only stand up when it is your religion that is attacked?

Also, I’m sorry you got offended by this picture, but the purpose of the picture is not to say everything in Arabic is from Al Qaeda. The picture makes fun of Al Qaeda for always saying the same threats and insults.
The person who made this caption just needed a tape with something in Arabic written on it. What is really written does not matter because the joke is aimed at people who do not speak Arabic.

I do not think the author meant to say that Islamic religious tapes are made by Al Qaeda.

It’s too bad you get offended so fast when foreigners speak of Islam. Most people here understood what the joke really was because they did not get angry as fast as you did.

      • Youtoo says:

Hmmm… So it’s okay to rant on PunditKitchen about Christians, and compare the Pope to evil Nazi’s, but no one can EVER make fun of a fanatical, violent religion who wants to see us all dead or become one of them ? Rando- I believe this is where you step in wih some idiotic comment. Go for it !!!

    • goptoughguy says:

      Eyad Saleh,
#1 When did I ever criticize anyone for listening to tapes? Your rash reaction has caused you to ignore the facts. I have tapes at home myself. I certainly do not criticize people who only have access to tapes. You bringing up this issue is clearly a guise for other things you want to discuss.
#2 You read the Arabic on the tape perfectly well, but you missed the first few words: Al Qaeda, not muslims. This post doesn’t criticize all muslims. It criticizes Al Qaeda. Again, your knee-jerk reaction led to error. Even the Quran discusses not being hasty to respond to people, but to think through your actions.
#3 Again, the lol doesn’t criticize everyone in the Middle East. It criticized Al Qaeda. So I never said that everyone in the Middle East or that every muslim thinks that Bin Laden is a prophet. I said that that’s what Al Qaeda thinks. They rewrite the Quran to make it say whatever they want it to say. If you’re a true muslim, you have to agree with that.
#4 The concept of being fashionable is clearly not what Al Qaeda is concerned with when they make women cover up. They are concerned with misogynism and suppressing women’s rights. It has nothing to do with fashion. Women covering up voluntarily is very respectful. I respect true muslim for that. But the men who bully them into wearing them I have no respect for.
#5 Are you part of Al Qaeda? If not, then AGAIN, this post does not apply to you or to your true muslim friends. This post attacks Al Qaeda, not all muslims. Seriously did you think before you responded?
#6 Bush didn’t bring down the economy, you just think that because you believe the liberal news networks that said so. By the way, it’s those liberal news networks that also have contributed to digression of morality in the U.S. that muslims supposedly hate us for.

This post in no way was meant to offend muslims. It was meant to show the ignorance of Al Qaeda. I have made no attacks on Islam itself, only Al Qaeda. And I will not apologize for that.

    Excellent! And so true.

  16. Angie K says:

I notice this is side B. I’ll bet good money that side A is Hall & Oates…

  17. Crystal says:

    Lol nice.

  18. Political Science PhD says:

This piece shows a lot of ignorance. For one thing, Muslims believe Mohamad was the last prophet- meaning bin Laden cannot be one. Additionally, to refer to the hijab as a “trashbag” is the utmost in cultural insensitivity.

    • As a Lol reader, I enjoy complete ignorance. Makes for great comments. You aren’t the first and won’t be the last to point out mistakes in a Lol, but rarely are those who create them going for any type of accuracy or real irony for that matter, just putting blanket stereotypes over pictures. In a sense I agree with your statement, but i also have to say this isn’t a term paper; it’s a Lol.

      • I Like Peanut Butter says:

I n defense the guy did Say “Al Queda”. And Al Queda does seem to fit some of those stereotypes, the trash bag thing I’ll give you, but the rest… Meh, it is Al Queda. I think most of these “Care Trolls” would have a stronger leg to stand-on if the guy had said “Muslims” vice “Al Queda”. But then again I’m an ebil conservative…..

  19. Nothing says:

…is that the Jewish Star of David on the cassette?

    • Default User says:

No, it’s the french star of David.

Actually, it has 8 points, the Star of David only has 6 and is almos always shown with the inner lines, not just an outline.

  20. VivaLaSouria says:

So, to all the noob’s out there.

This is not an Al-Qaeda tape. It is a recitation tape for the Qur’an.

    PWND.

  21. Jack says:

Right, because anything that’s written in Arabic comes from Al Qaeda. When your children ask you if you’re racist, be prepared to tell the truth.

  22. Ivan, Superstar! says:

And our Charro comes through! Brava, baby!

  23. Kn0wledge1ne says:

    Is there a cure?

  24. HelOnWheels the Gene Pool Lifeguard says:

Bravo, Charro! It sounds like a horrible, horrible condition.

  25. Blargit says:

Well, at least the coments come through when the caption fails!

  26. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

Wow, thanks everyone! The accolades are appreciated.

  27. HelOnWheels the Gene Pool Lifeguard says:

*snatches ILPB’s hat and whacks him over the nose with it*

You behave or I’ll have to spank you! ;-)

  28. Danbala says:

Depends on the cause of the condition. (Physiological/psychological.) From what I understand, it’s generally not too easily cured.

  29. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

Ok! Now they’re moderating links! I’ll just try the paragraph!

Vaginismus is highly treatable. Successful vaginismus treatment does not require drugs, surgery, hypnosis, nor any other complex invasive technique. Effective treatment approaches combine pelvic floor control exercises, insertion or dilation training, pain elimination techniques, transition steps, and exercises designed to help women identify, express and resolve any contributing emotional components. Treatment steps can often be completed at home, allowing a woman to work at her own pace in privacy, or in cooperation with her health care provider.

  30. I Like Peanut Butter says:

But I had on the sexist hat. **removes hat**

  31. HelOnWheels the Gene Pool Lifeguard says:

Oh, right. In that case, do you want to spank me?

  32. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

    Ok, now we’ll try the link the old school way: {http://www.vaginismus.com/vaginismus-treatment}

  33. Danbala says:

Oh, nice! That’s good – on fora for “female conditions” I’ve been reading, it seems people haven’t been much helped by anything, neither for this nor for vestibulodynia.

Maybe they just hadn’t found a doctor who knew their job. :p

  34. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

Fantastic! Only took me three tries! I think they are now moderating html. Lovely.

  35. I Like Peanut Butter says:

Well since I’m an equalitist let’s spank each other… ;-)

  36. I Like Peanut Butter says:

Socialist Medicine working for ya?!?!? ELEBENTY!!! (Sorry HAD to go there). Still nothing but love for you Danbs.

  37. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

I think treatments for both conditions involve a lot of “thoughtful care”, and in our non-evil Capitalist doctor country they just toss pain pills at you. I don’t know what you evil Socialists do.

  38. Danbala says:

    Heh. :)

Tbh, most of those girls have been so fecking airheaded, they probably looked for a doctor at the nearest newsagent. :p

  39. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

That’s so retarded. What happened PK? You used to be cool.

  40. lowly grunt says:

I’m certain it involves lubrication. Certain.

On another note, how is this a lol NOT made by EWAdams? Preachy, not funny, long winded, inane – who is this goptoughguy, anyway?????

  41. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

    Sock?

  42. I’ve looked at this guy’s stuff. He’s pretty much a total d!ckhead.

  43. HelOnWheels the Gene Pool Lifeguard says:

I don’t think so. Gop seems to be too conservative for EW. EW would never sully himself with a Republican-associated sock. Unless it was to throw us off.

  44. HelOnWheels the Gene Pool Lifeguard says:

  47. lowly grunt says:

  48. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

    No, that would be “Krafty”.

  49. lowly grunt says:

    Oh. Yes, you are korrect.

  50. HelOnWheels the Gene Pool Lifeguard says:

That was weird. I seem to be repeating myself without knowing it.

  51. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

I attributed it to an interwebs hikkup.

  52. HelOnWheels the Gene Pool Lifeguard says:

I attributed it to being drunk….I mean…erhm…yeah, what you said!

  53. mabsba says:

My friend, who is a neurologist/psychiatrist, just like his dad, said that the psychological problems, like any psychological problems, can be hard to treat. Being “fecking airheaded” is probably a difficult condition to fix.

  54. I was just thinking, that would seriously suck. I am truly grateful I do not suffer from that condition. *has a sad for the women that do*

You do have a lot of them. How do you do it?

  72. Default User says:

  76. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

    LMAO Rando, that was perfect.

  77. goptoughguy says:

Well, let me just to you Rando, AKA Eric, that I hope you’ve had your fun mocking me. I assure you that I got many good laughs out of it indeed ;)
I think it’s astounding that most of the jabs sanctioned by PK are left wing, and yet the one time a right wing jab gets through (probably to cause these fun, raucous conversations!!), all of you liberals completely expectedly lose your crap about it!!!
For the record, I have many muslim friends and I love them all. We see differently on some views about God, obviously, but we still respect eachtother.
But the muslim extremists that blow up innocent civilians, force women to cover, marry off 9 year old girls to 70 year old priests of Islam – those muslims get the brunt of my jokes; and don’t count on that changing any time soon ;)
And for all you liberals, Wal-Mart is having a special on undergarments, so all of you can go replace the ones you just got in a major wad ;)
    Enjoy, friends.

  78. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

Wow Rando, you have another one! How DO you do it?

  79. I Like Peanut Butter says:

Dude do you really need to generalize liberals…..

Also you need to chill it out. I’m a conservative and didn’t really find this all that humorous…. (I failed it in voting). Rando’s done his share of making fun a terrorists on here, we all have, it’s just the way you went about it was, well God (Allah) aweful!!!

  80. goptoughguy says:

    Dear, I Like Peanut Butter,
The entire site generalizes. It generalizes cats as being domineering over dogs, dogs as being hapless against them, celebrities as being stupid, etc. As someone else mentioned, this is not a term paper. It’s a generalization. And most people that consider themselves as liberals are against this post.
Now what is interesting to me is that you have somewhat defended conservativism up until the point that I responded. Now you turn your ire on me? Interesting. Do you side with conservatives while it’s chic to rebel, but then abandon them when you have a chance to join the majority and attack the underdog? Do you, who identify yourself as a conservative, now shoot your wounded? Your loyalty is clearly to yourself.
And for the record, I am done with sitting around as a conservative and being nice while liberals hand over every law that our forefathers fought for so that they can have some sort of supposed “collective morality” that allows them to murder the unborn while showing “love” to the homosexuals by allowing them to do the very things that bring destruction upon them?
No, I will not be part of that crowd. If you want to accuse me for being a fundamentalist conservative with a God-complex, that is fine. But you will not accuse me of inaction.
    God bless you.

  81. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

Thanks “goptoughguy”, I needed a good laugh.

  82. I Like Peanut Butter says:

    Dear Dumba$$:
If you look below I defended you, so you can just STFU! Also I’m not out there “defending” the poor defenseless liberals, I’m defending Conservatives. I’m trying to stop the stereotype that conservatvies are racist, anti-islam, make broad generalizations, etc.. I’m here to say that there are many conservatives who can speak intelligently, make their point without saying “Fvck you you dumb durty ape (liberal).” I don’t spout liberal as if it’s a bad word.
YES, there are liberals on here that spout generalizations and try and lump all conservatives into baby eating, Limbaugh listening, poor opressing, cigar smoking fat heads, however you spouting off like a little school girl who didn’t get to kiss Georgey Porgey is not helping the cause.
Also your cause of freedom is horrific… “I am done with sitting around as a conservative and being nice while liberals hand over every law that our forefathers fought for so that they can have some sort of supposed “collective morality” that allows them to murder the unborn while showing “love” to the homosexuals by allowing them to do the very things that bring destruction upon them?” WTF are talking about. Our forefathers would probably be against abortion, but depriving a Right from an idividual is stupid and wrong. We fought a war b/c “black people” weren’t considered human, do was now put gay people in that thought? You need to take your Religion, remove it from your politics, and realize you want to deprive people of a freedom you hold dear. You are the conservative that needs to LEAVE my GOP, YOU are the conservative that would make Lincoln and Teddy, and even Ike weep. You are not a Republican, you are a religious zealot who needs to stop thinking you know what’s right for me. Worry about your own soul, and let other people worry about theirs.

    A$$hat!!!!

  83. goptoughguy says:

    I Like Peanut Butter,
    1. You have anger issues and just proved my point even more. Try to address those or they’ll destroy you no matter what side your’e on.
    2. The Civil War was not fought over slavery, you need to do some more study on your history. After the war there were more blacks in poverty in the north than the south.
    3. God made black people and they are beautiful. God didn’t make gay people, they chose to be that way. You don’t even know what fundamental “religious zealots” believe. You attack in ignorance, as before.
    4. A true Christian is concerned about everyone’s soul, so of course I am concerned about those on here.
    God bless you again.

  84. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

Concerned with everyone’s soul but the gays apparently..

  85. Ivan, Superstar! says:

Well, you ARE just a fundamentalist conservative with a God-complex. Happy now?

  86. goptoughguy says:

    Charro,
I am certainly concerned about the souls of the gays. I have a few friends that are gay. I am probably more concerned with their souls than anyone else’s actually. I don’t think being gay means you’re going to hell, by the way.
God bless you as well, Charro.

  87. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

that allows them .. while showing “love” to the homosexuals by allowing them to do the very things that bring destruction upon them?

Yes, so very concerned with their souls while in the same breath condemning them.. You truly are a saint of the Christian community.. Do you show your gay friends “love”? Is your “love” different from the liberal “love”?

God didn’t make gay people, they chose to be that way.

And a pillar of the Conservative community.. You who hold our Constitution so dear yet you want to take away a person’s right to choose whom they love and whom they want to be with by using your religion and a 2000 year old book to justify taking away that freedom. I’m sure the Founding Fathers would applaud your mission to take away someone’s right to choose based on an antiquated notion of sexuality taken from a religion many of them wanted to get away from.

  88. So, Mr. “tough guy,” were you concerned with Rosie O’Donnell’s soul when you made a LOL about her getting a frying pan to the face? Or your insult to the ladies from Friends? Or the liberals’ souls in your repeated insults in how we don’t have any values or morals? Your LOLs are the exact kind of insulting, unfunny crap that I get sick of seeing every single time I go into voting. You’re not funny, and all you do is insult people who think differently than you. And if that’s not how you actually think, then you’re doing a lousy job of representing your beliefs in your so-called funnies. You claim to be a Christian, but you show my side of aisle nothing but hatred.
And your belief that homosexuals “chose” their path is silly. Did you choose to be heterosexual? I didn’t. It just happened that way. You just can’t accept that God made gays that way. Well He did, and there’s nothing wrong with it. Not my way, but I’ll be damned if I’ll tell someone else they’re wrong for it.
Being a Christian is great. I’m a Christian, but I don’t think it makes me better than anyone else, which is exactly how you act.

  89. I’d like to add that you seem to have some odd adoration for Sarah Palin. You talk about her “patriotic family” and her her morals and what not, so are you okay with her daughter’s teen pregnancy? Why is that so easily overlooked with conservatives while attacking liberals’ morals constantly? And one more thing, why on earth do you miss George Bush? That sounds delusional.

  90. I Like Peanut Butter says:

    Mr. Toguhguy!!!!
I do have anger issues with people who claim to be Christian all the while $hitting upon Christian values. Also I have anger against those who “claim” to be conservatives, but instead use that word as “bigotry”. That gives open minded conservatives like me a bad name. Also YOU are the reason that Republicans are considered the stereotypes they are. That’s what makes me angry, why? B/C I work so hard at trying to make people see the other side without hate or bigotry BUT with logic.
God did make the gays, b/c GOD made everyone. And if you’re so ignorant to believe it’s a choice, then God gave the human’s free will AND therefore God created gays.
ut since you love our founding father’s so much that you’ll pi$$ all over their graves in the name of conservatism: Give me ONE reason that has nothing to do with the bible (whole 1st Amendment thing) as to why gays shouldn’t be allowed at least minimum Civil Unions if not marriage?

Onto the Civil War, contrary to what most ignorant people believe, the Civil War was about slavery. This whole socio economic reason, States Rights, etc… if you look at the Southern Economy was built on slavery, the State’s Rights they wanted was slavery, notice a trend there………

And a true Christian loves thy neighbor and doesn’t preach hate……. so you might want to fix your soul first, before you start worrying about anybody else’s.

  91. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

LOL, god sure did give people the ability to choose.. And if being gay is a choice (which for MOST gays it is NOT), then he sure did make them didn’t he? *snort*

  92. goptoughguy says:

Okay, in closing an argument that has gotten completely out of hand, I will say a few things:
If you think that liberals haven’t made fun of conservatives since the day Bush got in office, you’ve got blinders on.
Rando – to start with – just the first page of your lolz calls ocnservatives morons, drag queens (uh-oh! what happened to your love for gays! I don’t think they’d like that comparison) and a variety of other things. So either you whole-heartedly mean those things and thus, have hatred in your heart, or you are making tongue in cheeck analyses and comments. So let’s be fair here. Your lolz are not without their jabs as well. In that frame of mind, I’ll say this: My lolz are silly, little more. I love to rag on Paris Hilton and Lady Gaga also, but I actually believe that both of them are amazing business women. They just happen to be fun targets. I have both of their CD’s (yes, Paris has a CD if you didn’t know). So these lolz have no intention of hatred for Paris, Lady Gaga or any of my other usual targets. Lady Gaga is, of course, an advocate for gay rights, and I’m not disowning my affinity for her, so let’s get all get a grip on the concept that I’m not a gay-hater.
Now I will admit a bit of a dislike for Rosie O Donnell. I have very little respect for someone who has done nothing but mean-heartedly attack conservatives, gang up on them whenever possible (i.e. the View), and being little more than a bitter, negative person in general. So, you’re right, I advocate her getting a clue. The frying pan, thing, of course, was in jest. I don’t want ANYONE ANYWHERE to suffer any hurt.
Let’s move on to Sarah Palin: Yes, I think she’s beautiful – and most of you other males probably do also if you’re honest. And yes, I think she’s got incredible class and courage to stand up in the middle of the absolute onslaught the majority of the media has leveled against her. So I will not apologize for being fond of her.
Next up, I love all babies, everywhere, so teen pregnancy can be a wonderful thing. And teen mothers can be wonderful mothers, I’ve seen it many times. Often they have more love to show their babies because they haven’t been around long enough to get embittered. So, your accusation that I should condemn all teen mothers is an assumption. Do I think we should have sex outside marriage? No, and I won’t apologize for that, even though I’m sure all of you think I’m wrong. But all people make mistakes, I do regularly, so who am I to condemn them?
Finally (and I’m leaving some of the smaller accusations out because I don’t have all day to respond to all the attacks against me by the main three), let’s move on to my Christianity: Again, my lolz are tongue in cheek predominantly and there is no malice in them mostly except for ones against Iran’s dictator, North Korea’s dictator and a few other of the undeniably oppressive leaders. I mean no hate towards anyone, and I am Christian enough to say that if any of them seem that way, I do apologize. I truly, whether you believe it or not, love all people, most certainly including gays. I know that God made gay people, I just don’t think he made people gay. There’s a difference. I know that you all disagree, and I can live with that. I do not say that gays are automatically going to hell because of their homosexuality anymore than I say that I am or anyone else is for struggling with anger. I believe that we are all sinners, and all of our sin is what condemns all of us. I do not pretend to be a perfect individual, or to have everything figured out. I do not see myself to be a wonderful Christian example, either for the record. In fact, I may very well be the worst of all people. But just because I am not a perfect Christian, that doesn’t mean that I won’t still admit that I am a Christian or be excited about my faith. In fact, my inability to be a good person is what made me realize that I need Christ to begin with. So fear not, I have no delusions of grandeur that I am a holy individual. I am quite the opposite. Thus my need for Christ.
So am I a hypocrite? Indeed. Because I am still imperfect, I will undoubtedly do the evil that I do not want to do, even though I recognize it as evil. It’s a sad part of being a human. But I am working on it, quite determinedly ;)
Do I hate gays? Absolutely not. Saying that I think homosexuality is wrong does not mean that I hate them. Do you automatically hate everyone you don’t agree with? I hope not. I do not either. And regardless of whether gays choose to be gay or not, I acknowledge their feelings and that they feel that they are born that way. I do not agree that gays are, but I understand if they think they are.
So God bless you all, and I hope you will all have wonderful enLightened days. And certainly we can all agree on that ;)

  93. I Like Peanut Butter says:

UMM still haven’t answered my question about Gay Marriage, so in all of that discussion my questions was left wanting. I feel left out and hurt… :-(

  94. goptoughguy says:

Okay, Peanut Butter, here’s the best answer I can give you, and I’m not trying to be inflammatory or start another argument, so please don’t see it that way.
With any law, anywhere, that’s established, it’s done so on the basis of morality, or else it wouldn’t be a law. So we have to refrain from damaging properties, refrain from hurting others physically, refrain from stealing, etc. because these are things that have been recognized as violating the rights of others. Now in this sense, gay marriage does not present a problem on the surface because it deals with two consenting adults, and I do realize that.
So my issues with gay marriage, admittedly, are not political. By no means would I exclude gays from the GOP, or say that all the GOP should be against gay marriage (and clearly, it is not).
So, I believe that homosexuality is wrong, but not necessarily that it should be illegal. Just as I believe extra marital affairs are wrong, but clearly they are not illegal. I don’t want the government being involved in personal decision making. We should be able to make those decisions ourselves.
    That help? ;)

  95. goptoughguy says:

Rando – one more comment – and this one not inflammatory. I’ll concede that perhaps the Rosie O’ Donnell one was overly inflammatory, so I deleted it.
And the “Mr.” ToughGuy is not necessary. Just ToughGuy will suffice ;)

  96. paws4thot says:

I wonder, is the concept of a gay couple being able to enter into a binding religious/civil contract that conveys the same rights as a heterosechsual marriage the issue, or is it just the fact of them wanting to use the word marriage to describe it?

  97. I Like Peanut Butter says:

GOP: Don’t really think you asnwered my question. Not all laws are based on Morality. Speeding isn’t a moral, it’s a safety thing. Murder really isn’t moral (or else we wouldn’t have “moral wars”), it’s a safety thing. It comes down to another’s individual rights, as you said before. So preventing two consenting adults from entering into a binding legal contract, how does that impede my rights, or anyone elses?

Besides you know who else is against gay marriage, Muslim Terrorists. You know another person who thought homosexuality was wrong and didn’t “approve” of gay marriage, Hitler!!! (GODWIN’s rule!!!) :-) Seriously though, you can’t use a legal arguemnt to be against “Gay Marirage/ Civil Unions” so to me, it is therfore inherently against our constitution.

  98. Ivan, Superstar! says:

Damnit PB! You’re making me like you!

  99. I Like Peanut Butter says:

Fvck Health Care!!! There Ivan you can hate me again!!!

  100. goptoughguy says:

PB, that’s exactly what I just said, man. Look at the bottom of the post. I know these posts are long, but if you read the bottom of the last post, that’s what I said. I believe that homosexuality is wrong, but not that it should be illegal because it’s between two consenting adults.
Now I will say this: I disagree with you wholeheartedly that murder isn’t a moral issue. Clearly murder denies another’s rights, so it is most certainly moral. Taking another’s life (unless in self-defense) is tragically immoral. The most immoral!
Speeding may not be a moral issue at first look, but it does endanger the lives of others, and thus their life decisions would be taken away from them if they were killed, so perhaps there is morality there if you look deep enough.
Then with the other references to Hitler and such, that is unnecessary. And I’m not trying to be inflammatory, but comparing me to Hitler is a bit much, and definitely a generalization, which you are against. Most “evil” people have some level of morality (at least on the surface) or else no one would ever agree with them. And in fact, Christians do share some common beliefs with Muslims. And AGAIN, I don’t know how many times I have to say it: This post is not against Muslims. It’s against Al Qaeda.
I hope this clears everything up.

  101. I Like Peanut Butter says:

GOP: Not once do you mention marriage of civil union, you just talk to “being gay”.

Second one can easily argue that murder is not a morality. Animals murder animals all the time, and not just for meat, but animals have no sense of morality, so to call it a moral issue I would disagree. It’s a personal rights issue, which is not a moral cause, but an inherent one.
Reading and comprehension failure, the Hitler and Terrorist thing was a joke, someone always must throw out Godwin’s rule, and it was my turn.

  102. goptoughguy says:

PB, I have no problem with killing animals for food. My references were to humans. But I am against cruelty to animals 100%, for the record. Murdering humans is certainly a moral issue.
Anyway, for the Godwin’s rule thing, I don’t know what that is, so I missed that one.
But for your main topic, that of homosexual civil union, I do not think that it should be illegal.

  103. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

And for the record, I am done with sitting around as a conservative and being nice while liberals hand over every law that our forefathers fought for so that they can have some sort of supposed “collective morality” that allows them to murder the unborn while showing “love” to the homosexuals by allowing them to do the very things that bring destruction upon them?

Ok, let’s deconstruct your argument here.

And for the record, I am done with sitting around as a conservative and being nice while liberals hand over every law that our forefathers fought for

Liberals are destroying the laws our forefathers fought for. Liberals stand for things that conservatives i.e., what you think our forefathers were, are against. Liberals want to destroy what conservatives (and in your mind our forefathers) want the country to do because conservatives believe they know what is right for everyone, when it comes to law.

so that they can have some sort of supposed “collective morality”

Because there’s no “collective morality” in conservatism as illustrated by:

that allows them to murder the unborn

Hypocritically saying that conservative morals are better than liberal morals because you can call the liberal “morals” a “collective” (read: bad) “morality”; but conservatives .. are more moral. Life and all that.

But for your crowning achievement (another jewel in the liberals “collective morality” collection):

while showing “love” to the homosexuals by allowing them to do the very things that bring destruction upon them?

Ah yes. You, with so much “love” in your “christian” heart to say that liberals want to “allow” gays to “do the very things that bring destruction upon them”. You admit that there is nothing Constitutionally valid in not allowing two CONSENTING adults to do what they choose in the privacy of their own homes, in the privacy of their own lives. Yet, you condemn them. You condemn them by saying we “love” them and “allow” them to do the things that destroy them.

And you want to push your ridiculous idea that conservatives DON’T have a collective moral agenda? Gay marriage isn’t immoral, disallowing it is unconstitutional. But, to the conservatives, it is immoral, so we should legislate on those bigoted, antiquated anachronistic notions of sexuality and family.

    Uh huh.

  104. Here’s the thing. You can’t say you think homosexuality is wrong and think it’s not gonna offend homosexuals. You might not hate homosexuals, but you are seriously offending them by saying their lifestyle is wrong. I think if someone said they don’t hate me for being Christian, but think Christianity is morally wrong, I’m gonna feel offended. You seem to portray two sides of yourself, gopdude. The first side is a snarky, mean side that attacks liberals and others who are different than you, but the other side seems to backtrack and spout what you’re supposed to say as a Christian. You actually contradict yourself a little here and there.

  105. @ Rando – “You actually contradict yourself a little here and there.”

A little? It’s more like his whole argument is a contradiction with itself. One side is judgmental, intolerant, and hateful, while at the same time trying to appear open minded, tolerant, and full of love. From a logical perspective, the guy is either a raging lunatic or severely confused.

  106. goptoughguy says:

Okay, I have tried to explain my arguments rationally and even admit my own shortcomings. Most of you are clearly interested only in endless arguments and attaching me even though my most recent posts have clearly tried to show a willingness to listen and resolve the issues. So if endless arguments and attacking me are what makes you happy, go for it! If that’s the case, then clearly you are the more intolerant ones and have more hatred and bitterness in your heart. I don’t have endless time to decontruct arguments.

    God bless you all!

  107. Default User says:

You come here making blanket statements and preaching hatred against gays, then try hopelessly to backpedal and we’re the villains? Yeah, have fun with that….

    Loki bless you too.

  108. oɹɹɐɥɔ says:

In other words.. You realise you’re full of sh!t, you got called out, and don’t have a leg to stand on. Well, at least you realise you’re full of sh!t, I guess that’s a start..

  109. mabsba says:

Hey, we can add this to our list. You know, the list of things people say right before being rude as if that somehow makes it okay that they are then incredibly rude. Apparently this one thinks that you can say the nastiest things you want, and it doesn’t count if you add “God bless” at the end.

  110. goptoughguy says:

Okay, so let’s review: you all have called me these things: A$$hat, full of sh!t, d!ckhead, dumba$$, etc. etc. And yet you say I’m the hateful one? Your arguments aren’t working there. And by dedicating so much time to this lol, you verify that the ideas I’ve put forth are valid or else you wouldn’t continue to feel compelled to respond, particularly you Charro, this is clearly really upsetting you for some reason, maybe you are feeling guilty about something and you’re trying to fight against it. Everyone else has more or less lost interest, but you’re obsessed with it. So since I have your attention yet again, now you get the full gospel message and you can do with this what you want:

All of us are born in sin and need Christ, thus Romans 3:10 – “There is no one righteous, no not one.” and Romans 3:23 – “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. Thus we ALL need Christ in order to be forgiven. And if we don’t have him, we perish and are held accountable for our sins, and yes, that means hell. Romans 6:23 says, “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” And this is not only death in this life, but eternal death. Reveleations 20:14, 15 “Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death – the lake of fire. 15 If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, that person was thrown into the lake of fire.”
But there is a way out: Romans 10:9-10 says, “9That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
So thanks to Christ’s death on the cross, we can be free from sin because His perfect sacrifice paid the penalty for all of us. Hebrews 9:15 “Christ is the mediator of the new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance-now that He has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.”
So there you go. Now you know the way to salvation, and you can be saved, which is the most important thing to me. All these other things are secondary.
And with a final note, I’ll end this post. Wicket mentioned that I’m either a raging lunatic or severely confused. But there’s another possiblity: that I’m right. And if I’m right, and the Bible is true, and you have heard the gospel, then you are accountable.
So what you do next is up to you, but you will not be able to claim ignorance any longer.
If any of you have any other questions, go to my profile, friend me, and we can discuss more.
    As always, God bless you.

  111. Default User says:

    tl;dr.

    Loki’s blessing be upon you.

  112. charro says:

Ooooh.. your astounding powers of psychological evaluation over the internet are astounding! You have me all figured out! *snort*

After that I lost interest (tl;dr). Blathering quotes from the bible at me aren’t convincing me of anything, especially not of your deep mystical understanding of my psyche.

But it’s a nice try! And quite a nice Red Herring if I do say so myself.

  113. I Like Peanut Butter says:

So GOP, if I don’t believe in God, then I don’t believe in hell, so why would it bother me? Also who are you to say your religion is the say all be all. How are you so arrogant, that Christianity is the only way to save a soul? I guess those billions of other people that don’t believe in Christ or God are just ignorant fools who’ll burn in hell. How very Christian of you.

    Satan be with you.

  114. goptoughguy says:

Hey guys, I didn’t say all this, God did. Take it up with him. You just keep prvoing that you’re uncomfortable with my moral standards. And you continue to prove me right by continuing to respond to my threads. If you were really sure of your final resting places, you wouldn’t keep on coming back to this post. If you really thought my arguments and posts were mindless drivel, you would have moved on by now. You keep saying that you aren’t affected or subject to my moral standards or my religion, but you are clearly terribly bothered by what I say or you would have dropped it by now. I’ll be glad to continue telling you what the Bible says if you continue responding.
You guessed it – God bless you.

  115. charro says:

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

  116. Wino says:

Sometimes I can’t sleep at night because I am afraid that Jebus is walking around with that bear again.

  117. charro says:

    *cuddles Wino*

It’s ok honey, I won’t let them get you.
