Happy Monday Politicos,
We know that you all, as people actively engaged in political discussion and debate, will appreciate hearing about changes in the voting system of this website.
Over the last several months, we’ve collected more than 100 pieces of feedback from you, our users, about our voting system.
Starting on Wednesday, we’re going to implement a few changes designed to:
1) Help you get more laughter out of the day and
2) Simplify the site experience.
First, many people didn’t like voting on one lol at a time, so we’re combining what’s in “Upcoming” and “Vote” into one tab, called “Vote.”
Second, we’re changing voting to resemble the rest of the Cheezburger Network, which allows you to vote on as many (or as few) lolz as you’d like.
Voting helps us decide which political pictures you love and would like to see on the homepage. It’s an important part of our community, and if there are any other suggestions, please contact us. We’ll keep making improvements.

Will this make it better, or worse?
I don’t know. I thought for a second they’d posted my “Improved Voting System” lol….but, no.
I love the diplomatic *cough*euphemistic*cough* phrase, “we’ve collected more than 100 pieces of feedback.”
But all efforts are appreciated Cheeze!
Yours is a damn sight better. It could be improved by a further button that removes the poster from the gene pool, but it’s a good start.
Well, even good people make mistakes, so I think slapping them in the face with a fish is sufficient for bad lols.
Only if we can choose the oldest, smelliest fish for the purpose–like a week-old haddock…please?!?!?
I think I may have a recipe for lutefisk, I can’t imagine anything worse than being smacked with three month old lye fish.
The Darwinian voting system?
I just came off of a voting session, and many MANY times I wished for your voting system, Diss! I had to stop when I almost voted one a “Win!” because it was a different picture, and was just less bad than the rest. Time to step away from the voting. *shudder*
It’s gotten so bad I vote win on some EWAdams ones just because it wasn’t racist or a bitter slam on all Democrats or liberals.
Your voting system might be the best idea to ever hit Cheezburger.
Honestly, I think this is gonna be better. It’ll be a lot faster to scroll through all the crap. But my question is are they still gonna put every single moronic submission into the voting? I’d love to see a submission filter that automatically takes out anything saying “fart” or “footlong.”
Oh, and I was just thinking. Are they gonna revamp the whole website like they’ve done with the other Cheezburger sites, or is it still gonna look all boring and sh!t?
I’ve got the idea that maybe your submitted LOL has to collect enough votes from your friends before it even goes to the main voting page. You think that would help eliminate all the bunk? I know EWIdiot and his closet full of socks would still be there, but it would still cut down on the voting terror.
“Mob Rule,” yeah, that sounds like a great system. Of course, that’s the system the troll ballot-stuffers are using now. And EWAdams is just about the best poster ever on this site.

I thought it was hilarious. Much funnier than anything EWAdams has done lately.
The bit about the “Rate this” was very Monty Pythonesque in my opinion.
I did in fact rate this higher than anything else recently.
Interesting how no trolls have commented here. It’s all just us old regulars.
I don’t see the point of the new system. When I went on today, I couldn’t even “Favorite” the ones I liked. Frankly, I didn’t think there was too much of a problem with the old system. True, it seems some trolls had figured out how to game the system and inflate their scores and deflate the scores of others, but that initial ballot-stuffing effect seems to be mitigated over time.
