I once started a chain email as a public service explaining that forwarding chain email not only put unnecessary strain on computers, email servers, and the patience of your family and friends, and could also be used to help people transmit, and re-transmit viruses. Because of this we should all do our part to stop forwarding chain email.

Unfortunately I made a rather fundamental error. After reading the email, none of the recipients forwarded it as they no longer wanted to participate in sending chain email… ah well, back to the drawing board…
